Average price is only $45 a night and certainly well worth it. It is located about 5 miles from Elkin and right in the middle of winery country. From the sign/arrow that points at window rock, climb down and you will see the window in the rock to your right. Through the window, you can see a waterfall! They are located right next to the Interstate and very easy to access with a larger RV. As well, the proximity to the highway meant that my mobile coverage was outstanding. This is a large campground with several dozen pads. I was at one facing a small fishing pond and while I had neighbors on both sides, it was still very quiet. The pad was level and the hookup - 30/50 amp, water, dump - all worked perfectly well for me. The pad area is crushed stone and grass, so it was nice to not be concerned about tracking dirt back into the RV. The bathhouse was clean and comfortable. I felt secure using it. The Linneys stone grind corn meal, corn bread mix, grits, and they sell my favorite: buckwheat pancake mix. This is an authenic, operating water mill, and depending on when you visit, you can see the entire process, from the water wheel driven grind stone to the packaging and selling of the finished products. The Linney's campground adjoins the mill with campsites by the creek. Visiting the mill is like stepping way back in time. No credit cards accepted, and no cell phone signal here. These are good people, and this is an authentic experience.

My kids loved the pond and I really liked it as it had a wading pool that my three year old could safely swim in. The dock is a nice place to put your feet in the water and take in the beautiful scenery of the fields and woods. We got to watch deer, birds, and all kinds of other wildlife, from our campsite and the swimming area. Bruce was easy to talk to and proud to show off all the hard work that's been put in and some of his plans for the future. The bathrooms are clean and the showers are amazing. It's close to town so you can experience all the cute shops and dining options Floyd has to offer. The river is close by for fishing or tubing. We highly recommend this experience. The retro campers are SO cool, offering water and bathrooms in addition to the very cool showers at the bathhouse that offer a view of the scenery, with great showerheads and plenty of warm water. Walkability Gravel path ways, it's in the blue ridge mountains, so a lot of it is slanted. Noteworthy details It's a work in progress with great things to come, we were never bothered by the work they were doing while we were there but it's worth noting that Bruce and his son are working hard to make this place a reality. My ONLY negative this to say about our experience is they have yet to put in a walk way from the tent area. And my boys wanted to take the A to B route to the swimming area and bath house so there was a lot of up and down about 12" drop to the road. They just put the camping area in so keep in mind the grass hasn't grown back yet. They haven't gotten in picnic tables or lantern hooks...yet. Deep River Campground is located in a rural area of Asheboro North Carolina. It sits with…read morepeacefully between a small lake and Deep River (which leads to the Cape Fear river basin). It is very pet friendly (many campers have dogs) with trails along the lake and to the river. It's a popular fishing spot, although we didn't go since it's winter as of this writing. Bobby, who maintains the grounds is super helpful & attentive to any challenges that arise with the site and our needs. Scott, the owner, was very accommodating. And Linda in the office was just as sweet as can be. We would definitely recommend this campground and have had an amazing experience here. Thanks to the staff for all you do if they read this!!

Hagan-stone is a part of the excellent parks system in guilford county and it's a great place to…read morego. It's hard to say which is the best park which is really just a sign of how great most of them are. Hagan-stone does have a lot of amenities but it's also a quiet, away from the city park as well. My kids love the playground and the pools, both of which can get busy on a nice summer day. My dog loves long walks in the woods and by the many ponds here. I haven't tried the camping but it's hugely popular here.
