There are a lot of long termers and while I have been to places this was a negative, it is not the case here. They were friendly and campers were kept up. My only wish was the pool opened earlier in the day, especially on days that it was 90 degrees before 10am. I took my daughter and her friend here in my 32ft class C and had no problem at all maneuvering. Has full hook-ups with no issues. Each site had it's own trash and fire pit. Kids enjoyed slushies, a few pool games and lots of swimming. There are some video games as well as a juke box but the juke box was out of order when we were there. As a warning, bring cash or check. No credit cards accepted. The rates are reasonable. They have a calendar of events and I happen to stay the one weekend nothing was scheduled. They have an Easter Egg hunt every year that my kids have enjoyed in the past and still talk about it. It's a great place to relax and make some memories.

These seem to me much more suited to the nearby NC Zoo or one of the natural areas in the region.) I appreciate that everything is on one level (no sleeping in a loft where you crack your head sitting up in bed) and that the bathroom is surprisingly large, particularly the shower. There is a single sink, so kitchen and bathing uses are combined into one facility. I guess one of the casualties of this design is any comfortable seating space to read, etc. There are two wooden chairs at the small desk/table, but the only suitable place to read indoors would be the bed (which has a firm but comfortable mattress). The outdoor space is nice provided the weather cooperates. Other cabins are close enough that you can probably hear incidental noise, but people are far enough away that you should get peace and quiet unless people in a neighboring unit get out of control. There's a peaceful pond with a path around most of it. Having walked the compound, I think it would be worth it to pay the nominal extra amount for one of the "view" cabins that would overlook the pond. The zoo is very close by, and downtown Asheboro is about 10 minutes away.

The power hookup is at the front of the site, smart huh!The people that is in the spot at our front door have their sewer hose ran through our picnic table and no doughnut of any kind. Its just a raw dog hose hanging off in the hole. So lovely at your door. If we didnt just travel 12 hours I would have kept moving because this place is terrible. You dont wanna stop here!! Surely there has to be nicer places in the area, I thought Koa would be the nicest. They highlight the fun trails for golf cart rides, the stocked ponds for fishing, and the overall peaceful and enjoyable experience for families. Also like the friendly and attentive staff who go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome.

Employees should wear one to protect customers. You are protecting yourselves from customers but are not protecting the very people that gave you the much needed revenue, just a little detail. Very nice gravel but my site was not level and I am talking about one side lower than the other, not front and back but I was able to fix that. Didn't have a problem with noise, the road does not have heavy traffic anyway. Overall well organized with mowing lawn and dumpster. I do not recommend or intend on returning…read more This place advertises a large blow up water slide that was closed the whole time we were there with the exception of 2 hours, when a volunteer manned it so his own kids could use it. When his shift was done, it never opened up again all weekend. The change machine in the arcade was broken, but because they are cashless there was no way to get coins for my grandkids to play games. Bingo that was scheduled for 6pm started late because the volunteer came to set it up at 6. The next day we purchased the sand for gem mining and had to wait over 20 minutes for a volunteer to fill the water tank so it would work. My husband said the men's bathrooms were grossly dirty. Positives: The small pool was nice, the grandchildren had fun there. The bounce pad was too hot during the day but was fun for them also. Sites are grassy and had WiFi since there was no cell service there. The volunteers were nice. Even though bingo started late, it did end up being fun.

Very well run campground. Lots of security cameras and staff was quite present driving around. The…read morebathhouses seem like they had just recently been remodeled, and they were beautiful and very clean and updated. The lake that the campground is on is very pretty. There are some nice playgrounds for the kids, not big but they get the job done. The pool is small, but nice for kids to play and hang out. There are no fire pits at the spaces so that was a little disappointing. The spaces are very small, but paved. Lots of roots and trees around, so there is not much even ground even for sitting at the picnic tables. Definitely a more family friendly feel, and with the space is being so close. It's not a very relaxing campground with peace and quiet if that's what you're looking for. It wasn't overly loud or people partying it up or anything, but just not a private campground if that's what you're looking for. For $40 a night, I would say that it is well worth the money and our kids had a great time!
