Very nice campground for the money! The bathroom/shower house is extremely clean. I would reccomend this campground.

There are some spots with full hookups and accommodations for long trailers (ours is 40'). The campground is adjacent to Stone Mountain State Park and he has provided a walkway and trail that ties into the state park trail system. We had booked a stay at the state park but their water system went down the day we showed up. The lady at the check in window directed us to Sandy Creek, and we're glad it worked out that way. We'll definitely stay here again.

We did end up needing more than anticipated as we had a minor first aid issue (local hospital was great BTW) and also because we were evacuated due to a hurricane the last day of our trip. We desperately had to get in touch with work and family so we were forced to drive out twenty minutes to get service. We did primitive tent camping. Electric and water were available if we ran lines/hose to other sites but we really weren't equipped for that distance. There were fire wood bundles for sale $5 each. A ring was provided with a grate for cooking. Our spot backed up to the creek. The sound of the running water was beautiful. It's also a short hike into Stone Mountain park. Very much suggested. Throughly enjoyed our time!

Downside was that she really needed gravel to level and prevent mud. It rained several days and we were ankle deep in mud. We had the end site which was beautiful and large, but Sundays and Monday when weekenders dumped we had to endure a sewer smell. We checked out other campgrounds that were newer and more level but absolutely NO trees. That made it worth everything because no matter how hot, we were never so hot we had to run air all day! And the wifi was one of the best we ever had in a campground.

The first problem…read morewe ran into and the overall most major one is that these "nice christian" ladies are absolutely not honest at all. First we called and were looking for a long term spot. We were told they don't accept long term guests. So, we were told we could stay for five months which would've been until the end of April. They then called back and said we could only stay until the end of February. Fine, we took the spot. Once there it became very clear that there were residents who lived there permanently. There are campers with fences and decks, storage units, underpinning, the works. So, we thought perhaps they vet people by letting them stay for a bit to see how they are. So we made sure to be on our best behavior and to keep everything super neat and tidy. Near the end of our time, I asked about staying longer and was told that we couldn't because of insurance purposes. She said that if they let people stay longer than 90 days they would have to be a trailer park. Perhaps that is true as it sounds plausible, But also, almost none of the rv's that were there when we got there left during our stay. Our neighbor there lives there as a permanent resident. Many people obviously did and all of them were there longer than we were allowed to stay. During our time there, there were constant issues with the plumbing in the bathrooms/showers. These are the campground facilities, not our rv's. Often times the toilets would not flush, showers would be cold and/or with little to no pressure and the same with the sinks. Shortly after we arrived there was a note left in the men's room telling the men to make sure they flush their "deposits." Well, that's impossible if the toilets don't flush. Later on in our stay I realized there seemed to be sewage leaking into the lawn near the playground which is meant for people to walk their dogs. One of the workers accused my son of being a girl and using the wrong restroom. My son is thirteen. Not only did she mention to me that someone else asked her about it, but then she doubled down to let me know that she also thought that he was a girl. He has long hair and loves rock music. While this isn't the biggest hill to die on, I just found it odd that she felt the need to double down once I told her that he was in fact a boy. The office workers like to communicate with passive aggressive notes left in the restrooms or on your camper doors. One of the office ladies, Sherri, is extremely nice while her sister, Teresa, comes across as incredibly rude and condescending. I'm not sure if that is just her personality and she doesn't actually mean to, but she never smiled the entire three months. One of the first days we were there I drove in. Now the speed limit starts at 10mph and then turns to 5mph. We had just gotten there so I hadn't noticed the drop, so I was going 8 instead of 5. That is my fault. What I didn't expect, though, was for Teresa to chase me down to my rv to yell at me. A little tact goes a long way. Then, the day before we left my daughter went to the office to get some clothes from the dryer. When she walked in there was a group of campground employees there talking. The moment she walked in they all hushed quickly and there was an awkward silence before one man said he was going to go. Teresa then said that he really came at a good time. Not sure if it's relevant but thought I would mention it. Do not camp here if allergic to cats. There are a lot of stray/campground kitties. They are sweet. A couple will let you pet them but not capture them. The rest run from you. We tried to make sure they were fed while there. There was a young couple that was also made to leave after 90 days. Curiously enough, we had something pretty strongly in common with them that does make me consider discrimination being a possibility here. Spots are very unlevel. We spent three months at a permanent tilt. I must say, the maintenance guys were nice so I guess the star is for them.
