Our favorite walk at the campground (the riverside path heading toward turkey neck trail)

Pulled in to stay for a month... ended up staying 2 years! Came to North Carolina to spend time with family and couldn't be happier with our choice of campground. Nick and Ann are wonderful people. I can't say enough good things this place and these folks! The property is beautiful, peaceful and has all sorts of neat stuff for dogs(and people) to explore

I found a new regular camping spot whether I am in a tent or an RV Dan River Campground is the spot. The owners are very friendly and offer many Dan River activities including taking you up to a drop off with tubes, kayaks, canoes...ect to allow you to have a nice ~2hr float back to the campground. The campground is clean and the RV sites are level and large. Each site has a fire pit. They offer many activities such as volleyball, horseshoes, ping pong, and many others. Our kids had plenty of fun playing in the Dan River which is a short walk from all of the sites. The bathrooms are clean and the camp host is also very friendly even loaning us fishing rods to use during our stay.

We absolutely LOVE this camp ground!! If you want peace and quiet, sounds of nature this is the place! No loud music is allowed (which is nice) Beautiful kept lawns, clean bathrooms, crystal clear pool and if you are tubing or kayaking.. they can help you with that too (just make sure to make reservations in advanced (they fill up quick). We brought our own canoe and kayak, they took us up the the Lindsey Bridge and we floated right back to the camp ground and walked out stuff up about 100 yards. The office staff is awesome as well. The young lady working there does the best she can and she is a delight! Talked with the owners wife a couple of times and she is a delight as well. We WILL be back!!

I have been here 4 months and have one week left. I have seen lots of folks come and go. The campground is well maintained. There are well maintained trails along the river. The pool always looks great. Didn't use the bathrooms but I never heard any complaints. There is WiFi and it works. It is a pretty campground. The spots are pretty level and the place is kept clean. Only minus here is the spots need some fresh gravel. New owners, so may be in the plans I recommend this place. The only place I found that takes long term campers. The long term campers here are clean and well maintained. Close to a Walmart, Lowe's, autozone, etc. 40 minutes from downtown Greensboro. Commute is low traffic.

Beautiful walking trails with a prayer area.

Ask the Community - Dan River Campground

I'm looking for something long term. With water and electricity hookups. Maybe six to eight months. How much is a site like that a month? I hope it's cheaper than the short term rates?

Please visit the link to answer your questions about monthly/extended stay rates and amenities.…

Could you please tell me how much is it for a week?

    30 amp w/ full hook-up service for 1 week is $250, 50 amp w/ full hook-up service for 1 week is $280.

Our first night we camped out at the end of the field and since it's towards the end of the season we had the place to ourselves. That afternoon we tubed down the Dan River for 3 hrs. For people who love spending time in nature it was heaven! Floating down the river through beautiful woods and pastures is the perfect thing to do on a lazy Summer afternoon, especially after a long drive. There's also fishing there. That night we cooked around the fire, and made music. We were joined by the owners who are very friendly and knowledgeable about the local history, sustainability, geology, agriculture and just about anything else you might want to know. Just ask Andrew! They have bathrooms with toilets, and showers (hot water)! For anyone looking for an affordable, rustic and low key destination, I can't recommend it enough.

The Great Blue Heron trail is 3.2 miles and has mile markers along the way to tell you how far you've gone, and takes you deep into the wilderness. You have to take the .4 mile connector trail to get to it. They have a wetlands boardwalk that takes you to the Haw River viewpoint. The viewpoint is small and the river is nearly standstill, but still is beautiful. The lake look trail takes you around the lake (obviously) and you can catch some turtles swimming in the lake! We saw one on a log. The piedmont loop trail is the perfect length to walk with your dog or small children. Mosquitoes are bad, but aren't aggressive (they just like to stay in clusters along the trail). In May there were zero biting flies like horseflies or yellow flies. It may be a bit of a challenge to park something big in here like an RV, but it's doable. The visitor center is at the summit access point, and is connected to the conference center.
