This is more than a B&B. A Mighty Oak is a state of mind. My wife and I love the stately aura of rich historical design in a completely modern structure. I mean, we didn't hear one squeak in any floorboard! Talkin' rustic and solid - a wonderful combination. This Inn has impeccable cleanliness and tasteful décor of every room. We came with another couple who are regular guests at B&B's all over the USA. They were decisively impressed. We came for the nearby Yadkin Valley wineries but found simply hanging out at A Mighty Oak to be quite pleasant. We sat on rocking chairs on the 2nd floor covered porch as we read or just talked as the stars emerged in the sky. Then we ascended to the 3rd floor for games (ping-pong, board games, TV sports) and reviewed the substantial bookcase. Of course, a huge facet of any B&B is the proprietor. We all recognize a passion for excellence when we experience one. It's there in spades with Todd, showing up in attentiveness to our needs and a pleasant, playful grace about him and his wife Lisa. And we saw his excellence in that 2nd "B" in B&B. We're talking as close to farm-to-table as it gets since the B&B's rear acreage is home to cows, chicken and plants. And, uh FYI, no smell in the air. Match freshness with culinary excellence and you've got an Rx for memorable breakfasts. I mean, I had never had a Scottish Egg and can't wait to see what Todd has up his sleeve next time! A passion for excellence shows up in every aspect of a business, but when it's a B&B, it can become quite special since they're sort of personal - I mean one actually lives there albeit for one or two nights. Amazing stay! Todd and Lisa were exceptionally gracious hosts who made us feel at home in their B&B. They take great pride and care in the work they do on their farm and as innkeepers. The grounds and rooms were well kept and comfortable. They went out of their way to ensure we had the best experience. What a treat! Todd and Lisa are very hummable, generous and talented. When I made this reservation I had no idea I was in for such a treat. Todd is a gourmet chef. He put so much care and effort into making sure he serves an original farm to table meal. Everything comes from either this farm or near by. When we arrived, Todd greeted us at the end of the driveway and excitedly informed us that we were the first to see the new sign! He remembered our names and specifically asked if our son fared well on the trip down. This place is a must if our are anywhere near here! We will most certainly be back. read more

Picturesque setting, peaceful and perfectly comfortable. The breakfast was 5-star delicious! Todd is a gifted chef creating distinctive recipes with the ingredients from his own family's sustainable produce and livestock. I don't normally post on Yelp but this was the only avenue for reviewing available for A Mighty Oak B&B. This place was beautiful. Definitely a little ways out there. We had dinner at Raffaldini's, a winery, not realizing until after we booked the Mighty Oak that the distance was around 45 min. The people are nice, the place is pretty quiet, rooms are immaculate, cleaner than most homes! 4 rooms to choose from and each have a sitting area, private balcony, and a nice size bathroom. There is a third floor common room with books, games, a TV, ping pong table, chess, drinks, snacks, etc. My only gripes were the temperature- I thought maybe it was just us but the other couples were saying the next morning that it was hot the night before as well. There are lots of ceiling fans and it was still a little warm. My other gripe would be, strangely enough, the breakfast. This B&B is on a farm, so breakfast is truly farm to table. We were excited about that. We had some sort of potatoes that were good and Scottish sausage and cracked pepper covered eggs. It was ok. I think this is more of a preference issue. I'm sure these people can cook running circles around most, but this particular dish, we weren't quite feeling. There was also a nice fruit selection that was served fresh. Overall, I'd give it a 4 out of 5. Super nice people, great updated rooms, comfy linens, food was ok. I wish it were a little closer to some things but it depends on what you're out there for. Writing a book...this my be the place for you. Visiting all the wineries...get a hotel with a shuttle to be safe! Overall, accommodating and beautiful. Would stay again for sure. read more

We stayed here for 4 nights in May of 2017. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan on returning. Todd and Lisa were wonderful hosts. They made us feel welcome and comfortable in their spacious and clean home. The rooms were beautifully decorated and had awesome views of Pilot Mountain, Blue Ridge Mountains, and their organic farm. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the front balcony and walking around the farm. Todd made delicious gourmet breakfasts complete with eggs and sausage from their farm and locally grown produce. They also were accommodating to our dietary sensitivities. There were many things to do in the area from hiking, to shopping in a quaint nearby town to visiting local vineyards. We are so thankful to have found this hidden gem and to have met Todd and Lisa. read more

We were delighted with our stay at the Mighty Oak Bed and Breakfast / Intended Way Farm. The country setting is so peaceful, and the mountain views are beautiful. Everything inside the B&B was sparkling clean. The food was delicious and plentiful-every day brought wholesome new menu items. We really appreciated the emphasis on serving nutritious and local fare (much is grown organically right on their farm). Todd and Lisa are so friendly, helpful, and gracious. We left feeling that we have made new friends. Plus, we learned a lot of valuable information about eating and gardening that we can use in our lives. This place is absolutely perfect. We rented out all of their rooms for four nights in September, for my sisters wedding in the same town. It was my sisters and me, and my mom and her sisters. We flew in from LA, SF, Nashville, VT, and NH. The grounds were absolutely picturesque and charming. Each room was warm and cozy, and the owners Todd and Lisa, were kind, interesting and helpful. Each breakfast was lovingly cooked and delicious, and we especially appreciated their thoughtful farm to table approach. It rained the entire time we were there, which really didn't matter and we felt so warm and comfortable in the bed & breakfast. We went for walks or runs along the lovely country roads each morning, and explored some of the small towns in the afternoon. I can't imagine too many circumstances that would bring you to this area, but if I ever have any reason to get anywhere near, I will stay here. read more

The owners, Todd and Lisa, are absolutely amazing people! I cannot say enough good things about them. They are warm and welcoming and have created a beautiful bed and breakfast. The service exceeded our expectations on every level. For starters, the room was huge, very clean and had a great view, and there was even a spacious balcony. The B&B is part of a working farm. There are chickens, baby chicks, cows, pigs, and a dog named Peace. They gave us a full tour of everything and explained how it all works. They cooked delicious, farm-to-table breakfasts for us each morning, even attempting to give us breakfast to go when we woke up late on our last day. We were in town visiting in-laws and Todd and Lisa offered us fresh baked bread to bring to them. My last night in town, I wasn't feeling well and Todd and Lisa were extremely accommodating and helpful to us. They brought us apple sauce and ginger ale, as well as a space heater because I was cold. We had a great time talking with them as well - they are very knowledgable and pleasant to be around. I found their philosophy of life very refreshing. We will definitely be staying there again! read more

I stayed at A Mighty Oak in September 2015. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the views were as advertised - sunsets and sunrises over Pilot Mountain. I genuinely felt like I was staying in a home. The owners were gracious hosts, and the breakfast they prepared every morning was delicious and fresh. The Morses were extremely accommodating. They ensured breakfast was ready when I asked for it and that they made food to suit my preferences. If you have diet or allergy restrictions, this is the place to stay. The B&B was a peaceful retreat. I plan to stay here again. read more
