But I'm so glad we didn't make our first visit here in the winter. We would have never gotten up to the condo with how steep the roads were. Our condo was clean and well equipped but we won't return because it wasn't convenient to anything we enjoy doing. Also, as a Verizon customer we had no internet. That was unnerving. I think if you plan on cooking, have a 4x4 vehicle, and don't want to do much other than cook and enjoy the views in your condo, this is a great choice. But we are active with our kids and it was a chore to get on and off the property.

Now I…read moreknow why the outside pictures didn't show much -- the roadway to the facility was treacherous. It is definitely not for anyone apprehensive of heights. The road to the complex is extremely narrow that makes me question if an emergency vehicle or fire truck could navigate it. In addition to it being narrow, it is a windy road on a cliff with no guard rails. I had a panic attack on the drive up; thankfully, I wasn't the driver. When we turned to road with the gated entrance, it was gravel, overgrown, and we couldn't even see past the gate. And this was at 5:30pm with full daylight. I was so panicked that my husband thought I was going to have a heart attack. We immediately turned around & made our way back down the horrid road, riding the brake the entire time & with a vehicle right on our bumper who apparently wasn't as upset as we were. Thank goodness no vehicle came in the opposite direction. I do feel there should have been some hint as to this "feature" of the facility. If I had known of this, there is no way I would have chosen this place for our well-deserved restful weekend. We ended up going back home & lost our money.

We did a split stay between a cabin and the lodge and both had their merits. The cost of the lodge was well worth the upgrade with the beautiful furnishings, cozy atmosphere, complimentary amenities and soaking tub. Ate at both leather flower and stables and loved Stables the most. Highly recommend if you are looking for a true luxury experience.

We still had a twenty-minute drive to the lodge when we reached the North gate. The drive was pretty, though, and passed quickly. The circular driveway in front of the lodge was clogged with cars, forcing us to park down the road a bit. No one was around to welcome us, and finding someone took us a bit. Once we did, the valets quickly took care of us, and we were checked in. Our room on the second floor overlooked the 18th green and a valley on the backside of the lodge. It was terrific: large and spacious, with lots of wood and chunky lodge-style furnishings. The bathroom was huge, with a large tub, separate shower, and his-and-hers sinks. The minibar came stocked with complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and some snacks. While staying here, we enjoyed their astronomy presentation at the top of the silo, walking on several trails through the nearby woods, time in the spa, and making smores out back by the fire pit in the evening with the other guests. There was a special cocktail hour with apps and drinks, and a chance to talk to some of the local providers of food and items to the hotel. They do an excellent job of using local sources for the lodge. Dining was top notch, except at the Stables family-style restaurant. The Stables was a disappointment. Our other meals though in the lodge were top notch. The staff at Primland is the best, and they are what make this place so special. Come visit in the summer and enjoy the cooler temperatures of the mountains.

I was there with a few friends and we made a full day of the spa experience which really makes getting a treatment a great value because you get to enjoy the spa for the whole day. We started off with a workout in the gym and then changed into the soft and plush spa robes to soak up the mountain views in the relaxation room. The relaxation room is amazing - two stories high with bunches of couches and loungers and a fireplace surrounded by a wall of windows over looking the mountains. Oh and there are teas and fruit and magazines and seriously, it is heaven in there. I had a spa facial and even upgraded to include a paraffin wax mask. I've had a number of facials over the years and this was an excellent experience. After the treatments, we had lunch ($20 and worth every penny). Lunch included four small but delicious and beautifully presented courses. Note - you need to reserve lunch ahead of time. After lunch, we changed into bathing suits and relaxed in the heated pool and hot tub until it was getting time to go. Last but definitely not least was a scented shower with everything you need (and more) provided, including some wonderful salt scrub. Westglow Spa is five stars and then some, especially if you come prepared to enjoy all they offer. Come prepared if you want to enjoy the gym and/or pool with workout clothes and your bathing suit!

Although there were only a very few other customers/clients there, the staff seemed very stressed out and was not welcoming. There seemed to be a lot of communication issues between staff and management, and we observed a woman who seemed to be the owner openly yelling a small group in formalwear taking photos and also at the GM. It was extremely unprofessional. I'm very surprised at the lack of warmth and customer service, especially since there are so many other fantastic resorts, spas and venues in the area, like Chetola, Eseeola, and the Inn at Crestwood as competition. I have been to all of the others that I have listed, and had a significantly better experience at each.

I'd really consider this a hidden gem in the Lake Wylie area…read more I searched high and low online for places near water where I could celebrate my birthday. When I came across Long Cove, I'll admit I was weary because of the reviews. Well, no other places were available except for Long Cove, so I booked anyway and now I'm hooked! A couple days before my reservation I went to check out the grounds, and Don was very kind in giving us a tour of the property and our actual cabin. Then the day of the rental check in was smooth as everything was already set. My kids set up their inflatable raft and took it out on the beach/lake and had a blast. We had cabin #14 so it was nestled right where the trail is for the beach access, and easy to see what the kids were doing. This particular cabin has 2 porches. One has rocking chairs and long bench seating, and the other porch is large and has a large table for outdoor dining as well. I did bring an additional table to set up food for my guests. Around sunset we walked out to the dock's side where we were able to get great sunset lake views while gathering for my happy birthday cake. Don was extremely helpful in getting us everything we needed for roasting s'mores at the fire pit that night. Too much more to rave about, but this place exceeded my expectations and we definitely plan to return. Having my birthday celebration here was and amazing blessing and extremely worth it, especially with having given my life to Jesus the week prior, and being able to be on the lake. I can't wait to see the plans in store for Long Cove, even though it's great for what it is right now. Thank you soooo much Don and the rest of staff, y'all are appreciated!
