We have thoroughly enjoyed our extended stay here and really find it hard to leave these peaceful and beautiful surroundings.

We would have stayed longer at this campground, but they were booked up. The rates are reasonable, and it's quiet and peaceful. The staff and owners are all kind good folks. Got the propane tanks filled while here, the maintenance guy picked them up and dropped them back to me at my site in under and hour easy, and it was very reasonable. A fairly level gravel base site, with water, power and sewer all within a few feet of each other making hook up straight forward and simple enough. Low maintenance established landscaping between the sites adds some privacy. The pull through where we stayed in the park had a picnic table, along with a gas grill and a covered pergola with a bench swing in the front. All overlooking a field with horses. This is a solid choice for a park, safe and secure. Easy in and out, and good people. 4 Stars good for an overnight or longer 01275

Three stars for the Lake Thickety Fishing Rodeo. I hope you take time to see my video of this…read moreevent. As I predicted; there were more people fishing than the public access area could handle. There were several game wardens onsite and a couple of deputies. What I was surprised about most was the cordiality between of the grownups . Strangers helping each other untangling crossed fishing lines. Grownups weren't allowed to fish but they could help their youngsters do so. I saw a lot of catfish being caught. No shocker there as the lake had been the day before stocked. To their credit the officials in charge were very helpful and mingled with the people fishing. Also to their credit the first 100 participants got a nice rod and reel combo I estimate to be a fifty dollar value each. Not begrudging any but that's where a lot of hard earned tax dollars got spent.

Normally I don't like the word cute, but this park is cute…read more Right across from Cherokee Grill in Kings Mountain is a great little park where your kids can cool off. Tons of flowers and rose bushes in bloom! Large grassy area to play. Classic gazebo/bandstand for musicians. Best of all is a sprinkler fountain for the kids to run around in. Large enough for 10-15 kids to splash around without hurting each other.
