Myra (office manager) was very sweet and got back to my quote and questions very fast, explained to me whats was included with maintenence cleaning my split AC indoor and outdoor units and was able schedule maintenance with my day time preference in 2 days. They partner with Hawaii Energy and gave me $150 off instant rebate for maintenance cleaning both my indoor and outdoor units, which made their rate very competitive compared to all the other company quotes. Cleaning day I was notified in advance when the technicians were on their way. The 2 technicians were professional and came on time with their company KK air conditioning truck and van. They were both very nice and patient with my 2 curious toddlers and dogs. The cleaning work was phenomenal, and both indoor and outdoor units were squeaky clean when they were done. 3.5% fee for credit card payment and received an email invoice receipt. We paid KK Air Conditioning (Kent Muramoto the owner) $53,000+ to install central air conditioning -- 2 new units -- in our home in Waianae and have had nothing but trouble with company and the owner. - Consistent rattling of the intake air vent for over a year and they've done nothing but bandaid fixes until we demanded they permanently fix them instead of using cheap double sided tape to rig the system - 1.5 yrs into having the units i've gotten a HUGE leak that's in my master closet and master bedroom. (most recent situation.) - I had to hire another industry professional to take care of the leak problem that Kent Muramoto (the owner) is NOT able to fix. - We've had to get multiple outside technicians to review the problem and they all said it was an installation and maintenance issue that cause these leaks - In a final attempt to try and fix the issue, Kent Muramoto has made the problem worse and now i'm left with a BROKEN AND INOPERABLE system, AGAIN. I've been left with nothing but stress and ongoing issues ever since this company stepped into my home. Everyone else bailed and balked and or ghosted me. I sent detailed emails with original install photos, floor plan and desired equipment links to dozens of these contractors on Yelp. It was truly astonishing to get only two competent replies, and only one who was available to do the work with a couple monthʻs notice. Condos are not as fun to do as homes, apparently. Fuse Hawaiʻi Air Conditioning is a franchise of Fuse Service in California, with a growing number of other state franchises. They have a fantastic website, excellent communicators, and my installers were my favorite contractors so far after decades of remodel work. * Ivan and Erik showed up right on time for the estimate. * The installers wore clean white socks in my white carpet OCD Condo. * My desired equipment came at better prices than I found online. * My old equipment was carefully removed and the new Daikin condenser and four blowers were carefully installed after the old lines were pressured tested for over an hour, and the drains were verified good, and the electrical was tested as well. * Michael, the sales manager out of state, went far out of his way in a different time zone, to text me back and call at time convenient for me, and answered all my tedious and nervous tech questions. * Ren and Oleg were fantastic to work with and carefully cleaned up all the packaging and old equipment and their tools, leaving not a trace to show for the fantastic new AC system. They came back with a proposal of $35,000. After reviewing the itemized estimate, I immediately advised her to get additional quotes. One line item alone was $1,660 to install four hose bibbs (spigots)--something she never requested. There was no discussion about adding new hose bibbs or performing related work throughout the house that would justify this charge. For context, hose bibbs are inexpensive parts (around $5-$10 each at The Home Depot or similar retailers) and typically require minimal labor. We obtained two additional quotes from other plumbers: $4,500 and $3,900 for the same repair. Based on this experience, the pricing from Steve's was extremely inflated and concerning--especially given that the customer was an elderly homeowner. If you consider getting a quote from Steve's, I strongly recommend getting multiple estimates before proceeding.
