Thankfully it is a small airport and not very busy like Newark or O'Hare. Seems like the X-ray machine they use locks up on occasions. Plus it does not prioritize who ever is dropping off their bags at the closest station to the machine. This last time I watched the bags of the person two spots behind me get scanned before my first bag did and then the guy ended up still waiting longer than me on the other side. This makes zero sense and forces a lot of people to wait for that last bin with their stuff to come thru. The few tsa agents I interacted with were friendly and they get a separate 5 STAR rating from me.

Very easy. Two travelers in the regular lane triggered a body scan; the agent was swift with his wand and got the gentlemen on their way. They always give you iced beverages, no matter how short the flight. They also have pretzels and peanuts no matter how short the flight. They give free adult beverages when you have to fly on a holiday and for business elite passengers. Their attendants are typically funny while doing their announcements. It is easy to earn points for future flights. I like how the app reminds me to check in.

I'm a larger customer, over 6 feet tall and over three hundred pounds, and over the past two years it's been harped on by the staff more and more, I've watched them try and nickel and dime their customers, jack up the prices, and over all they're turning into the same kind of crap I've avoided with every other airline out there. I regularly take this same flight to go visit my home town, and a flight that used to cost about $250 on a bad day with A1-A15 boarding round trip is now going to cost double that BEFORE they try and say I have to pay for an extra seat that "Might" get refunded if the plane doesn't fill up. Mind you, I tend to sit near the mid/back of the plane anyway because I know it's not ideal to sit right next to me anyway and I pick an edge seat knowing my knees will be bashing into everything. So, why am I writing this now? Because it's getting worse, and it's about to make me cancel the card I've had for years and just go with a competitor, because there's NO value with Southwest anymore. My card member rewards are downgraded as of this year, my flight is costing me more just to get there, I'm being hounded to buy a second seat and they "Might refund it" I Really, truly hope whatever insanity has taken over this company gets washed out in the coming months. I'd love to keep giving them my money, but American at least doesn't pretend they care about me as a customer. And by the way, Yes, my ass DOES fit in the seat.

I've never seen a team handle three simultaneous issues of a canceled flight, a flight delayed due to a mechanical issue, and all the computer systems being down, with such efficiency, dignity, and grace. I look forward to coming through Amarillo in the future, hopefully with less issues.

I do like the vending machines in their own alcove ... great selection of snacks & drinks! The staff is highly professional, and they even drove us to our hotel nearby!
