It was a pleasant surprise to find a Trader Joe's in the middle of the city with free parking nearby. It is only a few blocks away from Fisherman's Warf. It was relatively crowded for a Sunday morning. Trader Joe's always has the best unsalted tortilla chips, large selection of whole grain pastas, and fresh fruits and veggies. The workers here were friendly and helpful as I was also looking for items that were unique to the region. If you have kids, free stickers are also available.

    The Gingerbread Sandwich cookies. Incredible.

Everyone knows what a delight Trader Joe's is (except maybe on breads and some produce). And the staff is always amazing. Best things right now: -Boozy chocolates: not only do they pack little punches of rum, gin, whiskey, and prosecco (the last paired with white chocolate) , the chocolate itself is excellent. -Egyptian Sourdough Pocket Bread: frozen; gently heat in the oven and it's a huge hit with falafel. -Gingerbread sandwich cookies: gorgeous and amazingly delicious. They look like the holidays in a box and make great party gifts. Pine bark brown with white cream and a dusting of sugar on the top that looks like fresh snow. You feel like you're in Switzerland. They are soft and fantastic wirh coffee too. -Garlicky Pasta: one of my all-time favorites. Savory, Al dente, and Perfect. This is not creamy, but deeply satisfying and comforting. -Nantucket Cranberry Pie: this is buttery, tart, and lovely with whipped cream. I would not pass this by. Frozen. -New Zealand Wool Garland: so bright and retro and inexpensive. We're huge fans. -Cat Advent Calendar: tiny salmon treat for your kitty. She can't try it yet. It's November. -Cedar Balsam candle: smells much fresher and cleaner than many similar candles during the season; I usually stock up. -Harry and David Comice Pears: already ripe and my child loves them. -Rosemary Christmas Tree: lovely and fresh. I like passing my hand over the needles when I walk through the room for a lovely scent. -Fig and Olive Crisps: sweet and savory. We love these with hummus or prosciutto and my husband loves them with Gouda.

Love Trader Joes. There are many things I don't like about CA but one plus over TX and NY is being able to go into a grocery store and buy any type of Alcohol. Not to mention the Trader Joe's brands that are so good and great price. Not a single brand can touch Trader Joe's Ginger Beer. Pair that with Trader's Vodka and you have the best mule ever. So glad this one is still in North Point near the Wharf.

Trader Joe's selections are great and diverse! I had to return the spices I purchased as I already have them at home. The service representative Brett was very helpful. Ambiance of this location is always clean and staff stocking products on the shelves. Coming in the afternoon is a great time to shop!

Trader Joe's locations in San Francisco usually reflects the neighborhood they are located in. This Trader Joe's is located in North Beach in San Francisco and has lot of the neighborhood character. Inside there is a mix of historical North Beach neighborhood and lots of symbolic San Francisco tourist locations in the store decor. The clientele is a mix of locals, newly arrivals, and tourists. There are plenty of drinks and food offerings here. You can feel the Holiday atmosphere inside. A great place to shop any season of the year. A solid place to shop for drinks and food at the North Beach Trader Joe's Come shop and check out the wine section selection by the Mistletoes

I definitely recommend this Trader Joe's they have a wide variety and selection and they were also having a scavenger hunt if you found their mascot you'd get a prize. We found it last night strolling around the city. The service here is very friendly and the store I truly believe is a great size and there is also a parking garage which I didn't know about.

Love this location. Lots of parking, somewhat difficult for guests with larger cars, but over all a great location. Very clean, and friendly staff that are really helpful!

I stopped by this location while in SF for a friend's baby shower. I stopped for a quick to go snack and drink (GT's Orange Peach Mango Probiotic Water is soooo good!!). I've never been to this location. Its a decent sized location with an indoor parking lot, like the Hyde St location. The shocking part: A sign over one of the cashier line reads "20 items or fewer". I just learned of TJ's having an express lane last night. I honestly thought it was an urban myth!!! I've never seen one! Of course SF would have that! LOL. But, I actually didn't need to go through it since the store was quiet and not busy. The cashier was pleasant. I didn't explore the store in it's entirety, so, I can't speak too much on the aisles and products. I would stop by again if I'm again in this area (or SF period)

Great TJs near the Wharf. Convenient. Used to shop here a lot when I lived up the hill. If you work nearby or staying in a hotel nearby, this store is great for all the snacks and food you will need without spending a lot of money. Always nice ambiance and good service at TJs.

It's no surprise TJ added 1K more SFBA stores than it's sole Danville outpost 30 years ago. Like the addictive price/volume/quality-based Costco-Hoard Syndrome, you need to pick and choose carefully. When you do find something worthy of your tastebuds, it's difficult to keep a secret due to the way we developed a smug and self-righteous Selfie-culture. Love the colorful and creative labeling, esoteric blends, variety of booze and produce specials. Cheeses and some dairy are off the beaten path as are canned and frozen goods. What's not to like? Sometimes it's a better value than Whole Foods

Does this location have the weekly raffle for a $25 TJ's gift card for spending $25+ and bringing in your own bags? Or knocks off $0.05 for every bag you bring?

At this I went I did not see such incentives for a raffle. However, they give you a few cents back for having your own bags.

Actually, I hardly ever go to Safeway anymore. Shelves are always well stocked, store is very clean, and just a pleasant place to shop at. I've never tried the food at the self-serve buffet, but it usually looks pretty fresh. I like that it's never too crowded here, so you can maneuver your way around the aisles easily.

In one incident over a year ago, another customer verbally harassed me and threatened physical harm while I was shopping. Her child was left unattended and was knocking items over, which I reported to security. The guard failed to do his job and did not intervene appropriately. When a supervisor arrived, the situation was handled much more professionally. I should feel safe shopping in my local market. That guard no longer works there, but the experience was upsetting and difficult to move past. Unfortunately, in January 2026, I encountered similar issues with a new security guard. He has repeatedly followed me around the store without cause. Most recently, he approached me unnecessarily, stood uncomfortably close, and spoke to me in an intrusive manner while I was selecting items. His behavior showed poor training and a lack of respect for personal boundaries. These repeated experiences with security staff are negatively affecting the atmosphere at Woodlands. I am a respectful, regular customer and do not want to feel uncomfortable or monitored without cause when shopping. Proper security training and professionalism are essential for customer safety and trust.

Some things are definitely more than you'll pay elsewhere (most of the crackers for example). Pasta and canned goods prices were okay; in general maybe a bit higher than some places but not too much so. For vegetables, they do have some nice deals and stuff you may not find elsewhere (heirloom tomatoes, early girl tomatoes, variety of fruit and different vegetables). I felt like the tomatoes alone were worth the trip (grape tomatoes for cheaper than I saw anywhere else, beautiful heirloom tomatoes at a decent price, and early girl tomatoes which can be hard to find in the winter [I haven't had them yet but they looked fresh]). There aren't a ton of options for the meat counter but they are all quality items and the prices show. For example, the only chicken they had was Mary's chicken. The cheese selection was great especially for a small store and they had some nice meat, olive and peppers (homemade?) options for charcuterie boards. They also sell premade meals. Probably not the place you should buy everything you need but it's a good supplemental option and there were some gems. I guess they have a few locations so I would be back to this one if I'm in the area and would also check out one of the other stores if convenient too.
