I'm in Trader Joe's at Riversideplaza. I have to tell you today: 1. No any employees who can help you when you have tried to pick foods but you can't find them . 2. I&we met a very bad heart young woman, her name is Sophie who purposely charged me much more than should be. She thought I won't looked what I got or what did I pay for, but I looked at what I purchased items, and I found she purposely charging me much more right after 1 minutes that she pushed me to leave her table. 3. When I found the issue after 1 minute, She was too rude to refund me, as she must make me to wait until NO customers were on her line. The fact was: 3-5 lines are opening and no person needs her anymore then she started to refund me with 0 manner nor said any words to me but a long face ONLY. I came in today because there was an item on my $140 receipt, from a recent visit , that I did not recognize . Brian was professional and reviewed the item with me which helped me understand what I purchased . He was understanding and even offered a small item for the inconvenience I went through . So I have decided that during this unprecedented time in history that I would start trying to do a little flower arranging. Why not they are beautiful and smell amazing. I had heard that Trader Joe's has a really cool selection. So I figured why not drive there and check it out for myself. Now mind you I've been to Trader Joe's quite a bit (you know when you really try to eat healthy) but really never payed the flowers much attention. So this time it was all about the flowers, oh and of course some plantain chips... So check out the pictures, my first try's at flower arrangements. I will definitely go back. This is about my 3rd time at this store, years apart. Is it standard that staff is rude, impersonal and not helpful? No greeting, they push your cart to get by, cashiers not friendly. Customers are just as bad. Extremely rude. I leave my cart off to the side out of the way and it gets moved. Customers stand in the middle of already small aisles and conversate, no says excuse me just gets in front of ornresches across you. 3rd time was not a charm. Been coming here for years. Stopped by this morning for some groceries. Got into a line where there was only one person ahead of me. Line to the left was busy and line to right was closed. I'm waiting there and a few minutes have gone by, the 2 Caucasian ladies were conversing about college classes. Another Caucasian lady gets behind me. Caucasian male opens lane to the right of me. Sees me standing there and helps the lady behind me. I'm still standing there waiting, I look at him and helps the other person behind me. He finally says "I guess I will help you here" , mind you the other ladies are still conversing, the cashier doesn't acknowledge me. Can you say "racially profiled"? That is exactly how I felt. So disappointed! Had the worst interaction with a female cashier here. The cashier that checked me out was great; friendly and quick. I only purchased a few items but opted for a bag. As I was walking out, I could hear the bag tear and the bottom shift. I immediately went to the nearest checkout and explained that I needed another bag as mine was tearing. The cashier proceeded to tell me it's 10cents! Ok but I just bought this and it's tearing, can't I just exchange? Then she says show me where? Are you kidding me???? She proceeds to inspect the bag and finds that the handle is tearing. She then says its our policy to charge 10cents so I put my credit card on the counter and she rolls her eyes and says, I'm in the middle of helping this customer. Ok, I'll wait. Not 30 seconds in I grabbed my things and extra bag and attempted to leave before she says, you have to pay for that. I informed her that I'm going to the customer service desk up front. The manager was busy on the phone and didn't acknowledge me but another worker came and asked if I needed help. I explained the situation and she helped me by double bagging it and gave me an extra bag. no extra charge! I was a bit annoyed that I couldn't inform the manager about the specific cashier but since my problem was fixed I didn't want to waste anymore time. I'm very surprised because usually the cashiers are very friendly. I'll make sure to avoid that specific cashier but I do think the manager should remind all their staff to use COMMON SENSE!! read more

I've never submitted a review on Yelp before but was impressed enough with this location's handling of the COVID-19 situation to merit writing one. They had two staff members stationed outside, one monitoring the line and another at the entrance. Two sanitizing wipe dispensers were provided near the shopping carts and exit. Shoppers were allowed inside on the basis of the amount of traffic leaving the store. Once inside, my grocery shopping experience was comparable to any other day at a Trader Joe's. Everything was in stock, all staff members were friendly, and I was out within 15 minutes. Well done, Trader joes! Y'all are doing a great job. =) read more

Living in Studio City, I was always a fan of Gelson's, Whole Foods, and yes their Trader's Joe's gave pretty stellar service. I was passing through Riverside and stopped in to get my son and I a healthy bite while on the road. He asked the manager behind their tall desks a question and was flat out ignored When we checked out an older blonde clerk handed l the bag person my credit card! I was furious( she claimed it was an accident and laughed about it. I reminded her the importance of always keeping customer's personal information private, including handing strangers someone's credit card! read more

Trader Joes in Riverside is a long-time tenant at the Riverside Plaza, formerly known as Central Plaza before being leveled and envisioned. Through that economic decline and relocation the store maintained a steady presence and is one of two in the "classic" IE, the other is located in Redlands. While not every product here strikes my fancy I love to experiment with food finds and seasonal delights. The downside is once you get hooked on a product it disappears for good one day and nothing replaces it. Farewell canned Brazilian beef, so long all you cheeses, goodbye frozen Italian pizzas. The list is so long my memory is failing me. The good part is tbey are constantly bringing new things in. The produce is decent, but I cannot eat eight baby zucchini before they go slimy bad. Still, if I shop selectively and emphasize freshness it saves wasting money on spoiled food. Building a solid pantry is awesome though. Their spices, sauces and other items help create fantastic meals. I especially like the red and yellow Thai curry sauces. Another hands down favorite is their gyoza! That's right, chicken, pork, or Thai shrimp filled, they have outshined many comparable products from Asian markets. The staff are always nice and some have worked there a really long time so that's always a good sign. Parking... well, point out a Trader Joe's that doesn't suck in that department. I didn't think you could. Yes, they get ridiculously hammered inside sometimes but can be surprisingly mellow on other visits. No less than two people asked me if I needed help out to my car to unload my groceries.Love this Trader Joe's . Customer service is paramount.Needless to say there are friendly employees at this location. I hadn't been since February and this was the largest purchase I've probably ever made there. You know the part of the cart you forget about?I literally had groceries there on the bottom of the cart. On my way out of the store (spider plant hanging on the carts side ) a manager offered to assist me with unloading . I decided to do it myself . He told me that if anything breaks he'd replace it.If that isn't customer service I don't know what is.The cashier even asked if I found everything and the bagger went to look.The store was out of a few things, but that's to be expected.Just means I'll have to go back . I mainly come here for the snacks but they have so much good food and healthy-ish frozen meals. They always have a delicious selection in the bakery section: banana bread, cinnamon rolls, cakes, breads, wraps, cookies and all that. The frozen section has everything from mini tacos to enchiladas to pizzas to breakfast foods and ice cream. Can't go wrong with pastas or cheeses either. They have snacks on deck and I almost always get the Speculoos Cookie Butter (it's so bomb and a MUST if you have never tried it)! The alcohol section has plenty of beers and wines, but mostly wines. I really enjoy shopping at Trader Joe's. It is a small yet fully stocked store. I can always count on this store to carry products I can't find at other groceries stores I go to. For example, kosher marshmallows, pectin, broccoli and kale pizza, peanuts butter with flax and chia seeds, and much more! They also have a great amount of vegan foods. That's a plus if you're vegan. From fresh produce to pantry items, this is a vegans paradise. And you'll be introduced to new items with their sample area. 8 times out of 10 I end up buying what I sample. They also have small coffee cup samples. I have not tried their coffee because I do not drink coffee, but it smells great! I like their food-on-the-go section. They have pre made wraps, sandwiches, lentils, salads, soups, fruits, and vegetables. So convenient if you want a nutritious lunch on the go. Prices are average. I will say that sometimes the lines do not move very quickly if you're in a hurry. I've had to wait on average 5-7 minutes to get my lunch to go. I'm okay with that because my flexible schedule. Sadly, the closest store to me is the Riverside location. I usually stock up on stuff when I'm in the area, but I wish there was one near Corona/Eastvale area. Maybe one day! read more

Love this Trader Joe's. Every experience has been amazing......Until today. The Asian guy that works in management is on a power trip or something. I literally purchased a bottle of olive oil. After I paid with my app, I started to pick the bottle up off the counter and put it in my bag. He made me stop, put it back in my basket, and take my one lone bottle outside to place in my bag. It was absolutely absurd and took longer for to do it that way than if I had just picked up the bottle and carried it out. I picked it off the shelf. I sat in on the check out. All of a sudden, I can't pick it up again until I'm outside. Haha The point of packing in my own bag is to not take up the time. There was no line. Two open registers. He was just being ridiculous. Curious to know what people find themselves coming here for. I sorta have a set route once I walk into a Trader Joe's. I'll start at the fruits and veggies, check out the cheeses, hit up the frozen food isle, then browse the beer shelves. They haven't had the mustard seed cheese in a long time! It's covered with a red wax and the mustard seeds are visible. Tastes outrageously delicious on toasted bread! So I guess I'm stuck with a goat cheese of some sort. I enjoy trying different flavors. What I ALWAYS get when I'm here: Persian cucumbers. I've purchased these kind at other grocers and honestly TJ's is the supermegabesterest - theirs doesn't taste like earth. When passing through the frozen section; I do this to test my temptations. Of what? Nosy minds want to know... seriously? Hello... mochi ice cream, eclairs, tiramisu. Above the frozen foods on the shelves... peanut butter filled pretzels, chocolate covered pretzels, huge 1 lb. chocolate bars. I did buy one oh dems before. Supposed to be used for baking I guess. UGH ! Love Trader Joe's products. But today customer service let me down at the Riverside CA store. Am looking specifically for SAVOY CABBAGE. Called today at about 11:00 am to confirm they carry it. Yes they do , come on in was the response. Drove one hour and fifteen minutes ( there is no Trader Joe's in my town ) TO FIND THEY DO NOT CARRY SAVOY CABBAGE. All the person at the booth can say is " oops, sorry" . Customer beware , maybe I should have said it isn't the regular head of cabbage. Walked in and everything is really clean and smile every where! Lots of people were in here. They also offer free coffee by the sample area close by the bathroom. The bathroom was very clean but when I was using it who ever was last didn't tell them that they needed a refill on toilet paper. So I use the paper towels. They have tons of parking and baskets. I can here for the bbq spare ribs pre frozen! It feeds two people for 9.99. The marinade on the rib is on point! Is so yummy. I got introduced to these ribs by a family member! Omg is a good deal! Got to try it! They also have good prices on bananas! 25 cent a lb! Which is a very good deal! The bananas look really good not like the one at Costco where their all green and when you leave it out it turn black. I also bought a can of tomato pretty good price! Is a pretty big van for 1.79! I also bought a pack of sun dry tomatoes! 1.99! Pretty good deal! I would of pay at Vons 4.99. I also got some pretty good dark Chocolate with almonds! Three packs for 1.79! They were pretty good! Meh, I've been to bigger, better Trader Joe's than this one. This store is smaller, crowded and less stocked compared to Corona or Redlands. Unfortunately due to a move this is the closest one now. Cashiers were friendly; the other employees were just okay. I kept getting the feeling I was just in their way the entire time I was trying to shop. And then there are the maskholes who feel they need to lecture and air their political views to the staff-even though the mask policy is clearly posted at the front. Well, my cashier was OK yesterday, but she was distracted by another cashier who was standing behind her, talking with another cashier, who she was also slowing down. I thought maybe at first, when I was waiting in line, she was taking care of some business, but as I got closer, she was just talking about her own life. Another cashier even asked her if she was waiting to check out or something, and she said "No, just standing here getting paid!". Then it turned out she was supposed to be at her own register. Went there slowly, finally, with a smirk. I didn't catch her name, but she wore too tight jeans and had no sense of urgency at all. I've heard from people that the culture here was "nepotistic", so maybe she's related to a manager and has nothing to worry about. In the midst of COVID-19 Trader Joe's is so impressive the way they're handling this whole pandemic situation. Only a few people allowed in at a time, and only two of each item allowed per transaction, however this course of action has made the store so much better set up than any store. I bought some shredded cheddar today and once got it home, various shreds were tinged with green and dry. The date on my package is Mar 21 24. Seriously, I don't think anyone would have seen it if they had not opened a package themselves and it may not even be all packages of cheese, maybe I just got an "off" one. I love my Trader Joes. I've been shopping here since 2004 when the major grocery store across the lot went on strike. I'll always shop here. To customers who wish to post about the lack of quality of a product, the store and staff have no control over that when the date on the package is not nearly expired so think twice before posting negative.
