I'm writing this review to emphasize some of the success points of Trader Joe's. I've recently experienced some poor customer service at another entirely unrelated business and it just hits home how important customer service is.Trader Joe's is, of course, most everyone's favorite place to find unbelievable goodies but I applaud them for their par excellence customer service. Theirs is a master class. Shopping in the cool and happy vibe of Trader Joe's is the best! I have never left Trader Joe's one time feeling anything happy from the way I've been greeted and treated by TJs. Bravo for appreciating the value of customer service!!! Quality/Quantity - I am slowly becoming a fan of Trader Joe's. My wife is already a loyal customer. You are becoming my go-to snack place. I am also slowly trying out your frozen department. I used to be a loyal wine customer, but because we belong to so many wineries, I just can't drink it fast enough. Or maybe I do not have enough friends? JK. But I do appreciate your local craft beer selection. And 3 samples today?!?! One of which was cheese and wine! Ambiance - Clean spacious location. Seems smaller than your other Reno locations. Plenty of mall parking. But I always park further away as there can be a bottle neck or aggressive drivers in the very front of your entrance. Valentine displays are already up; see pictures. Open 7 days a week from 8am to 9pm. Service - So far, always 5 stars!! Price - Reasonable, I honestly do not look. Owner Comment - Congrats on your grand opening today on 8/21/24! My wife (and I) will be regular customers. Trader Joes is a stellar business model in any place, but the new one at Shayden Summit is truly a delight to visit. Everything is well stocked. The employees are friendly, always helpful and well informed. If my dog's favorite dog food is not in stock, they look up and tell me when it's coming in. The floral arrangements always last a week or a bit more. The fruit is superior in taste. The snack aisle is filled with yummy treats. And they have the best healthy frozen dinners and appetizers. My favorite part of shopping at Trader Joes is their price leveling structure that applies nationwide. My budget is always grateful for that. read more

That was super courteous and friendly. We had a couple of laughs. The store is always clean and super accessible for everything that I need. I'm not big on going to super large grocery stores as I usually don't have a lot of time, so running in and out of Trader Joe's is super convenient for me. Although I wish they would keep their whipping cream in the little blue and white boxes on hand in the store at all times all throughout the year not just holiday times since that is one of my favorite things to buy. read more

Many years ago I worked for Trader Joe's and since then I've never been disappointed with their service their hospitality and their prices. Today was extra special because I was picking up some items for a friend that was in the hospital and buying flowers for them and an extra special thank you to Sam one of the workers at Trader Joe's, who gifted the flowers to us to give to our friend that made a great impression on us and if I could give them more than five stars on Yelp, I would. I love this Trader Joe's, but admittedly I don't even want to share about it because one of the things I love is that it's NOT crowded or crazy busy like every other Trader Joe's I've ever been to. This Trader Joe's is consistently well stocked as well as always clean and tidy. If you're not familiar with Trader Joe's, it's a smaller quaint grocery store and it is related to the Aldi stores in the U.S.. My kids love that if they find the store's mascot (at this location it's a Bear) they can inform the checkout clerk and receive a lollipop (or parents can request stickers, if preferred). read more

Nice friendly service, clean and organized store and always stocked with my essentials from traders! I don't go to this location as much but since I was on this side of town I decided to stop in and it was a pleasant visit! The food/produce is always fresh and I especially love their frozen meals as they make dinners easier throughout the week. read more

I find it hard to say anything bad about TJ's since I always leave a satisfied customer. This location is a bigger store than the ones I'm used to in Vegas, but the customer service and selection are the same. I came by to just snag some snacks while I was on a work break. I love the coconut smoothies here, so I grabbed one of those along with a banana and a couple of the small bags of their dark chocolate-covered almonds. I spent less than $6 for those items and I left feeling that I made some healthier choices than going to a fast food spot. read more

Got to love the selection of food and how well stocked this store is. I popped in after work for a couple things to make for dinner and I was able to get in and out in about 5 minutes. Sometimes the music is jammin and I have to slow down to enjoy the groove. read more

I mean, how could you not enjoy Trader Joe's? Yes, I would definitely recommend this store, especially the one in South Reno. They've been open for well-over a year now and we frequent shopping here possibly once or twice a week. It's less than a mile from where I live and it's so convenient, there's never a bad time to go. Trader Joe's usually has all the necessities I need to live a well balanced lifestyle and feed my child. This is the newer Trader Joe's in Reno and it is larger, more spacious, with a nice set up for checkout and exit, better parking area and with extremely friendly and happy employees. There are new food item and products regularly. Most food items are reasonably priced and healthy ( do your own research). read more

Flat out, no holds barred, we love Trader Joe's, and this newer location in particular. And one of it's strongest points are the people who work there. They must have to pass a niceness test to be hired. Seriously, these are the friendliest, nicest and most helpful people we have ever encountered in a grocery store. And the food they sell? Simple great. The produce is fresh and tasty. There are gems all over the freezer section. Really the only down side to Trader Joe's is sticking to your list. I challenge you to get out of there with just what's on your list. And the prices are great too. We can leave there with two giant reusable bags of food for $50 or less. Try that elsewhere. Trader Joe's is our first choice in food stores every time. Love it! read more

Thank Goodness for Trader Joes in South south Reno. We love this new roomier way closer to home version. Great produce and we only buy our salmon/steaks and potatoes from here. I have recently learned I need to stay away from gluten and so going out to eat isn't always as easy as it used to be so this is our go to for cooking at home. Hubs always makes me the fabulous tasting salmon and a smashed potato recipe that is unmatched. We just picked up some Trader Joe's brand gluten free chocolate chunk cookies with sea salt and they were AMAZING. Absolutely crazy they're gluten free. Cute store with always friendly employees. Another staple is the dark chocolate covered almonds and some peppered salami. These are a few of my favorite things! Clean, easy parking, easy checkout. Yay! read more

Happy to see Trader Joe's in South Reno! I had taken a break from our Trader Joe's off of McCarran because of the crowds there. Today, on a weekend, the store was busy, so I will need to do my research on best times to visit this new store. Parking was a bit "dicey", but again, will have to assess after the excitement of the new store opening wears off. I like the food variety of Trader Joe's, especially the ethnic foods. Clean and well stocked. Lots of employees. Would like to see promotion of local vendors as with some of TJ's competitors. I know of one local restaurant that has some awesome soups. Trader Joe's offers a lot of specialized foods at good prices. For a smaller, boutique grocery store, they have a lot of variety. This is one of the larger TJs so there are lots of great finds. In the fall I visit just to grab all the pumpkin items available (cookies, bread, waffles, coffee, tea, breakfast bar, chips, bisque, yogurt, and the list goes on). Great service and the store is always clean and bright. It can be crowded, so just be patient. read more

I love the simplicity of Trader Joe's. Everyday low prices, no apps to join to get so called "sale" prices, lots of organic produce and the friendliest staff members! So glad they moved to the south Reno Summit location as I'm saving a lot of money shopping there! I just love Trader Joe's! And this new one is so nearby my house. It opened today and I just had to see if I could sneak in on my way home from work. I was terrified of the parking lot, but to my surprise there was ample parking and I got a spot right away! The store is a standard TJs, well organized, super friendly employees, and great produce, flowers, and snacks. The aisles are wider in this store than other stores in the local area, making for excellent cart maneuverability. It was well stocked and plenty of employees making for an efficient shopping experience. read more

This is a super great new Trader Joe's at the Summit mall. Let's get the bar out of the way. The parking sucks. It's right off the round about and the Summit is already regularly busy. Other than that, this store rocks. It's big. The aisles are double the width of other stores I've been to. The selection is mostly the same with some sections being a bit bigger and others being a bit smaller. If you live in South Reno, this is a great new spot to shop! read more

This store is bigger than the other Reno one and bigger than the store in Carson City. But the selections are all about the same and prices are the same. I recognize some of the Carson employees working here to get the opening up and running. Parking is a bit of a pain. Lot of parking but the traffic flow is not good. Traffic will back up onto the main entry street as the store is located at the edge of the mall. Only 2 handicapped spots too. Glad it's open, and I'll stop here if I'm in south Reno. read more

This store is very clean and well stocked. The food is fresh and they always have fun new types of food and snacks to try. The cashiers are always super friendly. My daughter loves going there because they give her stickers and a lollipop and make checkout fun. The prices are also very reasonable. read more

Huge shout out to the new South Reno Trader Joe's! The store has much better isle spacing and the staff is so friendly and helpful. We've been there three times already - my husband was always very reticent to go to the other Reno location because he felt it was very crowded and the parking was crazy! I love the new location. Not only closer to my home but better parking than the one downtown. I am always passing this location and it is easy to just pop in for something or a cart full. It is clean and organized and I like that the shelves are always stocked. They are quite busy but so is the other store, but they have enough checkers. I popped in several times around Christmas and found some holiday items. I got a few Christmas plants for gifts and a party. It was so easy to just grab the plants, pay and get to my parties on time. I like the selections and I always seem to find new things to try. I wish they had taste testing when I come because in most cases I buy the product. At least three times I asked the customer service workers for a product I used to find at the other store. It is a high fiber cereal and I buy several boxes at once when I find it. Each time they look it up and say it is on the way and that I will find it next time in and that is never the case. I wish they would tell me if it is no longer made or they no longer carry it. I have experienced "loving a product" and then they stop carrying it. I am off to Trader Joe's now to fill up again. read more
