This one has the same great service, clean & organized store, great selection, great prices, great produce and a great wine selection. I found everything I was looking for and most of it was on sale. This is still a great store in South Reno. I stopped in for a few things and was able to find them quite easily. It is quite clean, well lit, and well stocked. When I an on this side of town I stop in to grab what I need on the way home from work, it is an easy location to visit. read more

Store was dirty short lady working today at 7:30 pm wearing glasses running self checkout, was rude and combative and did not smile or thank me. Actually frustrated as this was my second grocery store stop in the last few hours. Went in and found the pricing sticker on the shelf for a GF graham cracker crust. However, there was no GF pie crust. I asked an employee who took me to a GF area, but there were no pie crusts. I appreciate the employee taking the time to show me those shelves. First time visiting this store,. I've never really shopped at Save Mart, only a few times in Galt, Ca. I guess because it was a competitor to the kids dad's family store in town. I was really impressed how organized and how clean it was. I like how the isles are semi big, and it wasn't crowded. If I ever need anything, I will stop here when in the area. Had a great experience today, found literally exactly what I wasn't sure I was looking for, a birthday cake For a photo shoot. It's adorable. And the perfect color and frosting. When I was checking out I asked about balloons and the young lady checking me out was super helpful and nice, advising me where to get the balloons (over by the flowers) and advised me of the cost to blow up my own balloons if I brought them in. Another employee a young man also joined in the conversation advising they may be able to order something specific if I needed it. The flowers they had were a bit pricey so I'll wait on those. During Halloween I also came here and found some randomly cute and cheap serving trays and dishes. I don't do my grocery shopping here as it isn't that close to my house, but for a special occasion I think it's worth checking out what they have in store that may be unique. I appreciated the customer service as well, and I should mention that as I was perusing the other cute cakes, another employee asked if I needed help with anything. I think I'll be back for more cakes. Can't comment on taste yet but it's mostly for looks anyway! read more

With all the supply chain issues I find myself going to half a dozen different stores for groceries. I've started shopping at this SaveMart again because they carry items I can't find anywhere else on a regular basis. The store is very clean. Some people are masked while others aren't which is pretty much par for the course these days. Prices are still high so looking for sales and discounts is advised. Which brings me to why I'm updating my review. The woman in line ahead of me had all the fixings for a large St. Paddy's Day dinner. However it turned out she didn't have the right coupon. The clerk and the manager did everything they could to make sure the woman was credited with the full amount of the sale price. It is great to see people working to help people. They were selling expired baby yogurt. I bought a pack of Stonyfield organic yogurt for my 11 month old twins on Dec. 30th. I gave my son some and he didn't seems to care for it, and my daughter gagged on it and threw up. Turns out it expired Dec. 13th! I returned to the store on January 4th to exchange it and went to the dairy case to get the same flavor. They were expired as well. One expired Dec. 17th, another Dec. 13th, and another Nov. 20th! This is food for babies and they're selling it far past its expiration date. I took the three to the front and spoke with a woman named Cassie, who said she was a manager. She refunded the money and apologized but kept making excuses like that it must have been shoved to the back. First off, no it wasn't, and second, THAT DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE IT IS ON THE SHELF FOR SALE. Then, she told me that it was weird I found them because she personally checked all of them the night before and didn't see anything. Bull. I will never ever shop here again, and encourage other people to avoid it as well. Who knows what else is expired on their shelves?! read more

I find this SM to be the friendliest, well stocked, cleanest, best priced grocery store in town for produce, basic grocery needs and even specialty grains and flours. Having a greeter at the front door is such an excellent marketing idea. To be recognized as you enter and leave and can ask where to find items is a good feeling. For so many of us, grocery shopping these days is our only outlet and social experience at the present time. SM does well at making it pleasant. I feel lost shopping in big stores but not quite so alone at the SM. It's never crowded and mostly quick checkout. ( sometimes they could use an extra checker; not a fan of self check out because my cart is always full.) read more

This store is horribly expensive! It's actually the most expensive grocery store in Reno. Example...a 12 pack of Coke is $7.99! That over $2 more than Walmart! Plus, on many occasions I've experienced being over charged. The posted prices don't seem to matter in this store. It got so bad that I started taking pictures of the posted prices so I could show the cashier when the price came up $1-$5 more! When I had the lead cashier, Gigi, she said she didn't believe me and made me wait while she went to check for herself. Did she apologize for calling me a liar? Of course not. She very reluctantly said she HAD to honor the posted price even though it was wrong. The customer service isn't too bad as long as you stay away from Gigi... she's rude and abrasive. Every time we shop at the Kietzke Lane store it's a problem. Now they've discontinued paper bags, but not the plastic? A lot of unmasked employees during the pandemic, no customer service unless you can hunt someone down. Won't be back. read more

We did curbside order. I pulled in and called the number annotated on curbside side in parking lot. I called twice and it went to voicemail. I went inside and spoke to an employee in bakery for my curbside order. As I was standing there I call the curbside number. The employee looked at the phone ringing and turned away to walk in opposite direction. This is not the first time this has happened. I just called again because there are two staff in the bakery area chatting it up, and once again the phone just rings. cashier doesn't know how to count money, proceeded to count the change back 10 different times and messed up 10 other times holding the line, making us wait for 10 minutes, then when it was finally our turn halfway threw the exchange she LEFT US MID PROCESS making us wait another 5 minutes for her to come back and finally finish our exchange, I would never in my right mind ever come back to this store knowing the employees in the front handling the money are that incompetent and irresponsibly slow. read more

Not only do they have little things I need to make dinner. They have hot food and deli. But my most recent visit was for a picture perfect birthday cake. 5 stars are so little for this cake that looks like I got it out magazine. Bakery department did a awesome job. What a great small community store! The savings, quality produce, meats and seafood are top notch. Some reviews expessed concerns about price on certain items. The savings I have seen are on regular items I normally purchase at other grocery establishments. Price it out and only buy the items that will save you $$. I absolutely love coming here versus going to the other retail giant here in town. Best of all, they well stocked up on all there items. This place gets pretty busy during the day which is a good thing but if you're not into the crowds; evenings are a nice time to do some shopping. The layout of the store is a little weird meaning that when I first started shopping here; I could not find the cracker items like wheat thins and cheese it's or the paper plates and other paper items and come to out they are not in the center isles of the store with all the other goods... They are actually situated on the other side of the freezers and fridgerated items. If you go in there, you'll see what I mean. I know it would be a big change but moving those 'lonely' isles in to the center of the store with the other goods would make for a more enjoyable shopping experience for customers....Thanks for another great shopping experience! read more

This one of our favorite grocery stores. They carry fresh fish and the lady behind the fish counter is awesome!! Everyone is friendly and we are excited with the new remodel! Right down the street from one of the places that I frequent this is a OK grocery store. It used to be Albertsons but now it's Save Mart, the workers are cool and somewhat knowledgeable depending on which one you're dealing with. They are sometimes low on Coke Zero and other products that I enjoy but they're very rarely busy and that's a plus considering Walmart is always slammed and parking is atrocious but parking at Save Mart is pretty easy going and you can get right in right out -good stuff! read more

This is my local grocery store. It's quick, clean and friendly. Really like the deli for when I'm stumped for supper. Good variety of mains and sides. Especially love the chicken fingers. Excellent bakery! The produce can be hit or miss. Good selection of meat and seafood. Prices are what you'd expect. A little more than Wal-Mart, little less than Raley's. This was one of the last stops we made on our way to Black Rock City, NV. We ran inside to grab some postcards to send to ourselves at Burning Man, but only found a card aisle instead. We ended up buying several birthday cards and tearing off the backs to make them into a one-page postcard. We stood in a slow line and paid for the cards and stamps, but were then told they have no outgoing mail or nearby PO boxes. They also wouldn't let us leave the cards and put them in their own outgoing mail. (We luckily found a fitness equipment supply store nearby that was happy to mail our cards for us.) Service was friendly but it would have been nice to have a place to mail out the cards that they sell here. read more

This store used to be the best of the "bunch" in the west Reno area; however, the staff has changed to be as rude and disrespectful as the rest of the Savemart stores have been for more than 15 years. I do not know where they find these obnoxious and rude young people who think they are such hot stuff to land a job in a grocery store. Save Mart is one of my normal grocery stores, but not my primary. I stop in when my primary store is out of something, doesn't normally stock it, or when I see a good price on something in their weekly ad. This particular store is hardly ever busy, so they usually have only a couple checkout lines open at one time. That's fine, until it does actually get busy and then you'll be waiting for a while. This applies kind of everywhere in the store (deli, butcher, etc.) They seem to be running on a very limited staff. Produce is usually pretty good looking, well stocked, and it has bundles of herbs rather than those plastic packages that cost more and have way less in them. Their meat department is kind of hit or miss. Sometimes they have smoked salmon, ground turkey, chicken quarters, London broil - sometimes they don't... And you really need to pay attention to the small print on their ads so you don't get fooled into thinking that something costs one price, but that only applies to huge portion (like an entire salmon, not the portioned fillets). I guess what I like the most about this Save Mart is that it is so calm relative to my primary grocery store. No kids running around, no weirdos. Cashiers are quick, I know where most everything is, and it's a convenient stop after my primary grocery store. read more

Great grocery store that is clean and organized. This location is well stocked with all the products you might be looking for to make a meal. The staff is great and Gigi is over the top! I would be okay with never hearing "Threes a crowd, there's a crowd" when there are 4 people waiting in line. Spending 15 minutes in the store you will hear it a handful of times. I also use the pharmacy which is the best! If you are looking for a pharmacy that remembers your name and go beyond their job description to help you out. read more

First off, I'm a fan of this chain. I do my regular shopping at the Spanish Springs store. I like it better than fighting the nightmare crowds at Wal Mart on any given Saturday. This particular store is close to my work so I run over there on my lunch hour to do some shopping so I don't have to stop at my regular SM store in Spanish Springs after work. This store is clean and well-stocked, plus the employees are super nice and helpful, as they are at the Spanish Springs store. My only complaint about this store, vs. my regular Save Mart is that they push impulse buys when you check out. "Can I interest you in the cookies we have on sale today for $1.99?" Or like today...I bought a breast cancer T-shirt that they had for sale in the aisles. 13.99 for this shirt, and part of the sale goes to BC research. I like that, since I'm a BC survivor. When I was checking out, the cashier asked me if she could interest me in the sale of a re-usable pink bag, benefitting breast cancer research. I said no, as I don't need anymore bags, plus I had bought the T-shirt, going to the same cause. Still...I felt like I wasn't doing enough. I would rather have not been made to feel guilty (in my mind only) because I didn't want the bag. Though the cashier didn't do anything but ask, it was my own problem. :) Still..it's annoying to be put on the spot, I think. Anyway, that part bugs me, but all in all, I like this store. Let me start by saying that I have a soft spot in my heart for grocery stores. Maybe it's because some of my earliest childhood memories are of my mom taking me to the neighborhood A&P, and later my favorite grocer Publix. Or maybe it's the fact that my very first job, which lasted for five years through college, was for my local Albertson's. Anyways, this is my favorite local grocery store. I go before work every shift and buy breakfast for my crew, and I shop there as much as possible for my home. While shopping for work at 0700, I'll often see the store director arriving and diligently walking his store. Great customer service from all departments. The store is always clean, and shelves are well stocked and blocked. Good produce and meat departments, they've all been helpful whenever needed. The deli also has given me great customer service many times. Prices for all products are fair, if not what I'd expect to pay before going to a specialty store such as Costco. Good customer service from the front end. The cashiers are always fast and friendly, and if there's ever a wait of more than three persons in line, you'll hear the cashier call for backup "three's a crowd". To sum up my review, great store. May be some nostalgia of my memories of Albertson's and the years I spent working there, but I think it's just overall a good example of what a customer wants in a grocery store. read more
