    First time at this store
    Amy O.

First time visiting this store,. I've never really shopped at Save Mart, only a few times in Galt, Ca. I guess because it was a competitor to the kids dad's family store in town. I was really impressed how organized and how clean it was. I like how the isles are semi big, and it wasn't crowded. If I ever need anything, I will stop here when in the area. A plus that I found my multicolored tortilla chips!!!

    Adorable cake for photo shoot!

Had a great experience today, found literally exactly what I wasn't sure I was looking for, a birthday cake For a photo shoot. It's adorable. And the perfect color and frosting. When I was checking out I asked about balloons and the young lady checking me out was super helpful and nice, advising me where to get the balloons (over by the flowers) and advised me of the cost to blow up my own balloons if I brought them in. Another employee a young man also joined in the conversation advising they may be able to order something specific if I needed it. The flowers they had were a bit pricey so I'll wait on those. During Halloween I also came here and found some randomly cute and cheap serving trays and dishes. I don't do my grocery shopping here as it isn't that close to my house, but for a special occasion I think it's worth checking out what they have in store that may be unique. I appreciated the customer service as well, and I should mention that as I was perusing the other cute cakes, another employee asked if I needed help with anything. I think I'll be back for more cakes. Can't comment on taste yet but it's mostly for looks anyway!

Three expired from their cooler, taken January 4th.

They were selling expired baby yogurt. I bought a pack of Stonyfield organic yogurt for my 11 month old twins on Dec. 30th. I gave my son some and he didn't seems to care for it, and my daughter gagged on it and threw up. Turns out it expired Dec. 13th! I returned to the store on January 4th to exchange it and went to the dairy case to get the same flavor. They were expired as well. One expired Dec. 17th, another Dec. 13th, and another Nov. 20th! This is food for babies and they're selling it far past its expiration date. I took the three to the front and spoke with a woman named Cassie, who said she was a manager. She refunded the money and apologized but kept making excuses like that it must have been shoved to the back. First off, no it wasn't, and second, THAT DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE IT IS ON THE SHELF FOR SALE. Then, she told me that it was weird I found them because she personally checked all of them the night before and didn't see anything. Bull. I will never ever shop here again, and encourage other people to avoid it as well. Who knows what else is expired on their shelves?!

Not only do they have little things I need to make dinner. They have hot food and deli. But my most recent visit was for a picture perfect birthday cake. 5 stars are so little for this cake that looks like I got it out magazine. Bakery department did a awesome job. My little one loved it. And flavors inside were beyond great. I will be back for future orders. Thanks again for making my little ones day that much more.

I think I need to update my review from 14 years ago!!!!…read more I stand by my original post: How wonderful to have a real grocery store that specializes in local and organic products. Much of the produce is locally grown, or locally adjacent (AKA California) OK, Bananas do not grow in the Great Basin. The origin of the produce is identified. They work with local farmers, bakeries, and other local businesses for the food and non-food items. They no longer have the upstairs restaurant but they do have a kitchen and make ready to go items. I love picking up a fresh salad (some with meat some purely vegan/vegetarian) , a yummy very generously filled wrap, house made cookies and other delectable treats. They have a large selection of locally produced meats. Lots of organic canned goods, dairy and non-dairy items . . . the list goes on. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Memberships are available (20$/year) with a once a month 10% off of your total purchase. You do NOT need a membership to shop here. It's small and a bit cramped but there is a lot of good stuff there. It's clean and friendly and completely locally owned.

I grabbed it myself, and frustrated flipped them off. (My freedom) Alma approached me and said I was disrespectful and refused me service. What!? Like fine wine, Aladdin's gets better with age. I have loved watching it evolve over the years,…read moreespecially the restaurant, which started as a small offering and has now really come into its own. We had to feed a crowd at home recently and Middle Eastern cuisine suited everyone's fancy, so naturally Aladdin's was the call. Using the online ordering system was simple, and the food was ready right on time. My only feedback is that the items don't all clearly describe what you get or how the dish comes, and so I added sauces thinking they came on the side but really came on top, and paid upcharges for things like pita, thinking they didn't come with it but then finding out they did and I just added a lot of extra. I ordered a few shawarma plates, an Aladdin combo, and hummus, falafel, and babaganoush appetizers. Everything was delicious, but some items were a bit surprising. The hummus is was a bit on the loose side, and we actually thought it was tahini from the look, aroma, and flavor. My guess is the batch was made with a bit more tahini than normal. Still good, but surprising. The Aladdin's Combo didn't look as pictured on the website, where it looks like a very sizable portion of meat, with chicken in a reddish marinade. Though the chicken looked similar to shawarma, it was clearly different in flavor, and both it and the koobideh were delicious. I ordered extra meat and had expected it to be outrageously large based on the menu photo of the standard order, but what came was more similar to the photo itself. It was still plenty to share, but I paid additional and didn't seem like I got that much more. The regular portions here are large, like easily feed two people sized. We ordered one plate per person, but in reality could've split them all. Again, I love this spot and chalk this up to learning. I think some folks could get frustrated with this experience, and I def did to an extent, but I enjoy this too much to gripe.

We were not disappointed! Here are a few things to know: - In addition to selling Mediterranean groceries, you can order at the register and there are several small tables so you can sit and eat. - I ordered the Gyro Sandwich, and my wife ordered the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich. Both were really good, and quite large...I, of course, polished my entire sandwich off and my wife took half home for later. - We've bought Greek cheeses, olives, bulghur, and spices at Aladdin's, both this time and in the past. It's the only place to find some of the things I need, and the prices are better on some things than even Amazon. - Service was really great. The person working let me wait to pay until after I had finished my grocery shopping, and she brought our food out to our table pretty quickly. Bottom line: Aladdin's is a go-to place for us...next time, we'll probably go again at a time which would let us enjoy lunch at the same time.
