This location in Montrose is bigger than the Glendale and La Canada store, BUT the parking lot is weird... ample parking yes ;however, a lot of blind spots with multiple cars backing up opposite of each other at the same time! My wife drove up to get our $30 back. They did the math wrong again, and gave her attitude when she brought it up on the second correction. I had a terrible experience at this location. I came in for Hash browns and left feeling harassed and disrespected repeatedly. Floor crew member Tommy approaches me to let me know they do not allow pets into the store and I reassured him immediately she was a service dog. He responds and says " no ma'am that's an emotional support pet. Me feeling confused and annoyed, I responded " No, she's not, she's a certified service dog and he responds and says no ma'am there's a difference between a service dog and emotional support pet. I at this point, I want him to stop speaking with me so I go to look for her card. As I'm looking he proceeds to then let me know how the health department is cracking down on them and how they are getting too many complaints ( as if I'm an employee). I have to stop this man from running his mouth and ask him to stop speaking to me because nothing he is saying making sense to me the customer and his lies have already infuriated and frustrated me because I'm confused at this point and weirded out why this floor crew member is trying to prove so hard a lie he has made up in his head. He looks at my dogs registered service card and blatantly lies to my face and says, " ma'am this says she's an emotional support pet. I am no now disgusted and is starting to feel like this can not be about my dog at this point because this is not making ANY sense. He's looking directly at my dogs card and making up lies and for what reason????? He then tells me we have had this conversation before. Another lie he tells because I've never ever had a conversation with this man until this day. If we did, he would know she's a service dog and he should no better not to ask again. So he's violating my rights repeatedly. At this point i'm feeling like he's not only being incompetent and asinine, now your giving creepy pervert energy. Why are you LYING so much and trying hard to keep talking to me and keeping me in your presence just to lie and be weird. I spoke with someone at the front to ask for the number to HR. I also asked this crew member what the proper protocol was for people who come on with service animals.He could not tell me. Tommy then approaches me again to antagonize me more and I tell him, to get away from me and stop speaking to me. I then spoke with Leo the next morning who already had his mind up and was going to turn this situation on me because of how his employee was inappropriate, disrespectful, and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. He heard my side but overall made the choice to side with Tommy and kept trying to turn this situation on me by bringing up what I said about Tommy to another employee because of the lies and the entire interaction was WRONG and especially for the person ( Tommy) who represents this company. Yes I called Tommy a moron and while Leo may find that offensive, I find being repeatedly lied in my face and gaslit to be extremely disrespectful especially when I can't even comprehend where his intentions are even coming from. Like me feeling like he's not coming from an inappropriate place is a far stretch when he is lying repeatedly and gaslighting me. I don't know him, he did not see my dog use the restroom or do anything to assume or make up lies. He is confidently violating my rights. So what am I suppose to think ?! Should I have implied he's coming off RACIST??? What proper emotion should I be feeling ?So Leo refused to resolve this situation. I spoke with Kary from HR shortly after who listened and immediately started to weaponize this situation against me. She was too concerned about my statements that I owned up to because unlike this team of dishonest incompetent leaders , I have no reason to lie me. Kary tells me " no, ma'am you're an adult, no one can make you feel anyway". At this point I know Kary is just as incompetent and asnine as Tommy and Leo to even say something like that. I want to be clear , I worked in customer service for 9 years before the medical field. I'm not coming from an entitled dog owners perspective. I'm looking at a situation that was handled poorly from the bottom and all the way to the top. I'm looking at a team of leaders who held their employee at NO accountability for violating my rights, trying to hold me equally accountable because they want customers to be respectful while they're employee is lying and disrespecting them repeatedly. Montrose is my neighborhood TJ's. I have shopped here about 4 years. The store has great energy. It is always bustling with stock associates filling in the shelves. I like their selection of plants. It is also a very busy location. It is my experience everyone is very eager to help. It is a very clean location. I recommend it. My only warning is to be careful entering and exiting the parking lot. It does not matter if you walk or drive. My fellow shoppers are by and large, the worst drivers and inside their car are very rude. Proceed with caution. read more

Racially profiled. My husband who is African American, came to look for his key that he misplaced long story short he found what he thought was a key at the register but it was his own key. A bone headed move I know. We went back a few hours later, I let him handle it while I waited in the parking lot. He went to the lost and found they could not find it. My husband said he looked twice in a small little area and no key was there. Crazy that you could miss it since again the area was very small where they kept lost items. It took too long and wondered what happened so I went in and he said they didn't find the key. I then explained what happened had to maybe the manager and had him look again and by some miracle there it was. So it took me coming in??? Not sure who the manager was guessing was of Asian descent. We have spent thousands of dollars here and we have lived in this neighborhood for over 15 years. This is some bullshit. We will still come because it convenient but my eyes are wide open. Sad really! His explanation was he's horrible at finding things come one now. You had to look three times and no apologies. I like this Trader Joe's since it is very spacious and big. They have more assortments and varieties of goods and groceries to choose from. They have fresh fruits, snacks, and more. I really love the way that Trader Joe's organizes it's groceries. It is super clear and easy to find what you want, but also browse around for other goods at the same time. I did take off one star however, because the parking here is relatively tight. It is slightly more difficult to find parking, but I think that is both a curse and a blessing, since I guess a lot of people really like this Trader Joes! I do really like the fact that they have an attendant in the parking lot to direct you towards the nearest parking lot. The attendant in the parking lot is just one of the ways you can tell that their customer service is absolutely impeccable! Only part i'm not a huge fan of, is the parking. The layout of the store is easy and spacious making shopping a breeze. Twice I asked two different employees for information about products and on both occasions, they stopped what they were doing to take me to the product I was seeking. In both cases I told them that wasn't necessary, that I would find the product as long as I knew which aisle to check. Nonetheless, they guided me there. Incredible customer service! The parking lot is also organized, directional arrows are on the pavement and signs indicate which way to drive, helping the traffic flow. I'm quite certain this is the best Trader Joe's location I have been to. The number one complaint we all have about Trader Joe's is how the parking always sucks. This location has a pretty decent size parking lot and I've never been stuck trying to find a spot here. There's also ample street parking. The staff is very friendly and there aren't lines of solicitors waiting to get at you on your way out the door. The layout of the store is nice and comfortable and it's easy to get in and out in record time. Definitely an asset to the community of Montrose. read more

I grew up on Trader Joe's from way back... I recall they sold nuts, wine, cheese, jurice, eggs, yogart, and Toblerone! This location is a bit more than a year old moved from the Foothill Blvd location where parking wasn't good. At this location, parking is a bit better but can still get chaotic at times. I pack lunch sometimes and TJ's has a good selection of low cal meals from black bean enchiladas to bibimbap. Workers here are always friendly. Though the samples lady on Sunday is kinds skimpy on the portions! Overall, it's my place to go for certain items. read more

In this era (and yes it is an era rather than just a week or a month or months...a year, years maybe) of our Pandemic this TJ's unit is pretty much the place to go if you are in any way afraid, trepadicious about going out and buying foodstuffs. By this i mean, say what you will about Montrosians, they follow orders. Glendale powers that be mandate is to wear masks and you will find everywhere in Montrose people are wearing Masks. I wear a mask and gloves and if i could a Hazmat suit. In any event i was here today, waited in a well organized line and did some major TJ's shopping. Whereas in Glendale, there are some people who just don't "get" the times we are in. I mean: people are dying because they are being infected by those who do not observe social distancing as well as wearing face coverings. Why is this so complicated for some people to understand? OK, i digress...as usual. Shopping here today was easy,quick, shelves are stocked with all the essentials: wine, liquor, toilet paper, paper towels, IPA's, Oh yeah: trader Joe units are overall always in stock. This in itself a big fat accomplishment. Have you been to a Vons or Ralphs lately? Today this Montrose TJ's had and almost always has their game together and during this Pandemic this is not a little thing...so many rules to follow. So few blocks for us to maneuver in order to shop. TJ's is smart enough to understand if we, their customers get sick and worse they will lose. The Montrose TJ's is one step removed from the unit in Glendale: not better, not more organized...just different based on the clientele. There are still the same amount of Crazies, though. Love the way my local Trader Joe's has been handling the store during the Covid 19 pandemic. The staff have been extra amazing and attentive here, they have always been very friendly. Last time I visited a staff member was playing guitar for those waiting in line, they were passing out cold bottled water and a gentleman even helped me load my groceries in the car. All of them are very professional and it's excellent that they have you sanitize your hand and give you a wipe for your cart as you walk in. So thankful for all they do! read more

At first, we had a hard time finding this relatively new Trader Joe's in Montrose, until we reached the end of Honolulu Avenue. It is super clean, but lacks enough parking for patrons. It seems bigger than some of the local Trader Joe's I've been to, but I think this is the new standard for their buildings. I feel the store fits the neighborhood, and is probably super convenient for the firefighters who live at the station across the street. read more
