Came in here looking to buy these yogurts called Icelandic with only 12 carbs and a nice amount of calcium. What's more, after suffering a miserable kidney stone bout, I now have to be super conscious about the levels of oxalates since that's the particular type of stone my body unfortunately produces. So with a nice amount of calcium, and low carbs, I'm going to give these Icelandic bad boys a shot. The CSA of this experience was a classy cat named Jeremy-pictured. Although the purchase in and of itself was relatively simple, he saved me from what would have been a borderline embarrassing moment that's happened before. That's when you turn down a bag, and the product falls outside of or inside the basket and the leaks and everything else starts up-and milk, jello, or yogurt seems to be the leading culprits for this kind of pending accident. Came back from a trip and had to restock, so I headed straight to Trader Joe's. Loaded up on boxes of protein bars, then hit the frozen food section. They have a really good selection there. Vegetables, everything looked great. The fresh fruit section was solid too. I also grabbed the olive oil popcorn, which is one of my favorites. Got everything I needed and then headed to what I call the fast lane. Instead of self checkout, they have a line at the end with about four checkers working one line. It moves quickly I love it. I really liked this Trader Joe's location! When I walked in they were playing Mario, sooooo....they got me. Staff was nice here and they had all the signature & fun TJ's products. Perks of this location are a nice big parking lot and being surrounded by a ton of other places, making running multiple errands at once easy. The service and ambiance was great! I came in on a rainy weekend and they're packed with people grabbing their groceries! The selection is great and a lot of workers were helping out and pointed me the right way for the items I was curious about! Luckily, I came in on a day where I got to try out a sample of their product: Cranberry Orange Muffin! In addition, at this Trader Joe's, they have an isolated help desk in order to check what products are in stock, inquiring and checking in on items. TIP: They have ample parking and restrooms! If you've been following my Road Trip series, you already know the deal. Every time I stop at a different Trader Joe's around Orange County or LA, I grab something new to review. It's my way of showing what's worth picking up when you're constantly driving and just need a quick bite or a healthy boost. Each location has its own rhythm, and this time, I went for two shots that keep me moving -- the No Joke Ginger Shot and the Mighty Turmeric Shot. Both are small but strong. The No Joke Ginger Shot is a blend of organic coconut water, ginger juice, lemon juice, and cayenne pepper. It wakes you up instantly. You feel that ginger hit right away, then the lemon smooths it out just enough before the cayenne leaves that warm kick in your throat. I love this Trader Joe's. I either buy the potato tots, buffalo style chicken, chicken marsala mash potatoes Cajun chicken Alfredo, sweet chili sauce. I enjoy this Trader Joe's. It's walking distance from my office and I can get in and out without the long lines. The store is very clean and the store is well organized. This rose water is the best facial toner and super affordable. The produce is always fresh and a large selection of dry fruit and vegetables. Crowded during the week but the cashiers do a good job getting through the lines. Pretty good Trader Joes. Nice location, plenty of parking. Store is alway clean and organized. However, when asked where things were, staff would just say its sold out to not figure it out. She didn't know where the Viral gyro meat was and looking in the frozen section and eventually said she remembered it was sold out. I happened to find it by just looking around in the meat section. The staff can be hit or miss. Some are very nice some are grumpy. Other than than I've had a good experience. read more

They said they would release more at 12 the 4 I work 9-7 I made the trip. So I went to the Managment counter and asked if they were out he said we have "plenty" that they received 100 boxes I said can I please have 1 of each I won't make it back since I work. Employee did NOT. Care, I said nowhere on Trader Joe's website I saw that this is how they would be released, I said I made the trip. I believe you are suppose to take care of your customer especially if they made the trip and you have literally hundreds in the back? This is really bad service so I left with nothing? This is my favorite Trader Joe's to shop at. I usually go on the weekend to check out the new items section--it's always fun to see what new or returning products they have. I love their prices, and they carry the almond champagne I use for brunch at half the cost since it's their brand. I'm a big fan of all the mochi and ube-flavored items, and their pastries are always great. I especially enjoy trying the different Danish flavors when they come out. read more

Who doesn't love TJ's? I'll tell you who. Those who bought from the store since the 90s and their long list of discontinued items. The negatives: In the 90s they used to carry: Carrot cake, pumpkin bread loaf all year round, fig bars, cashew butter (now it's just peanut butter WT*!) The positives: selection of frozen mexican, korean, and indian (samosas , so good, right? but I know they'll remove that too) The people and cashiers are always nice but it's not fair to keep discontinuing good foods, especially sweets, just because of cost. Speaking of costs why is Trader Joes literally the ONLY market without sales? Their prices are not low. Some prices are fair while others are flat out high. The end result is my shopping has joyfully expanded to Sprouts and Whole Foods which I really appreciate. News of injecting chicken sold at TJs with MRNA vaccines is not good. This should be clearly labeled as vaccinated meat. read more

This experience I had at this Trader Joe's was so disappointing that I wanted to call the regional manager for that store. I went in with my elderly mother, and when checking out, I was met with a young man with horrible professionalism. The receipt said the name Noah N, and I don't see how his behavior is acceptable at a grocery store that prioritizes good customer service. Not only was he rude to my mother, but he seemed more interested in talking to his female coworkers than helping us out as a loyal customer to that store. I did not feel welcomed as he did not even greet me or my mother or acknowledge our presence. When he had already started bagging, I reminded him that I wanted a double bag, which seemed to have upset him, and out of anger, he squished my bread, and I did not realize how bad it was until I got home. After the transaction was over, he put the receipt in my bag, and when I asked for my receipt in my hand, he basically threw it at me. Despite my efforts in trying to be kind to him because I understand working in customer service can be difficult, I tried to keep a good spirit but he was so rude that it genuinely upset me even more and made me rethink what grocery store I should be shopping at. I don't see how this behavior is acceptable at a family grocery store, and if this behavior continues to be acceptable, I'm sure I won't be the only one who stops shopping at this store. If he cared more about customer service than receiving female attentions, then this experience would have been different. read more

I love this place because for one...their price are cheaper the other places and a variety of organic products. The staff is always helpful and they constantly keep the shelves well stock. If you cannot find what you are looking for...they are willing to go check the in the back. I don't be too disappointed if they don't have it because of the concern they show for their customers. First, I love this Trader Joe's. Don't think the 3 Stars is a reflection of anything negative about the store. But, I do have concerns about the training of a particular employee, (S, Tesla). On Sunday, May 7th, at 8:18, I purchased several bottles of wine. Much to my surprise, Ms. Tesla asked to see my Id. Now, I'm a 55 year old Black male, gray haired, bad skin and a slight paunch to match. There's no way I could be confused for someone under 21 years old, or even 30 years old. So, I was a bit surprised at the question. Just 10 minutes before, I had bought another batch of wine from the same location, and I wasn't carded, as expected. Clearly, and wisely, there's no policy to card everybody. So, why is this a big deal? First, I believe the clerk was on a little power-trip. I worked retail and I know the little things that can be done to show the customer who's boss. Demanding someone's ID is one of them because it's a small, but bothersome inconvenience for people who have long past being questioned about their age. But, no ID, no wine. Power. Second, to an older African American man, her behavior came across as subtly racist. She had a 'papers please' moment and took full advantage of it. The reference is to antebellum America when any white person could demand any African American show 'Free person' papers, at any time. Again, I'm obviously over 40, so what reason does she have to see my ID? Third, her smarmy, almost smart-ass tone when the transaction was complete. Her aggressive 'thank you, have a nice day' wasn't pleasant, but had a more 'we're done here' kind of tone. Of course, that's all subjective, but I know when someone's being genuine versus being curt. Ms. Tesla was being curt. So, again, my issue is with training. Is this how the employees are trained? Of course, she can easily say I card everybody. But, does she? Maybe worth a review. read more

I haven't really gone in anywhere in 4 months due to COVID-19. That being said, this review is for pre-COVID. Parking is generally a mess because it's mall parking. The store gets pretty busy during peak hours. Employees are nice and helpful. But stick can be low because they get so many customers. The checkout lines always seem to drag a bit. I actually think it's 50/50 between customers and cashiers. If I want a more relaxing TJ's experience, I go to Marina. If I want to save time, I go here. During COVID-19, I go nowhere. I don't really go to Trader Joe's, this was the first time in years that I had really walked into one. I was greeted by many sweet faces and found all their "joes" brand very amusing! Everything was very clean and organized. You could see all the workers were actually doing some thing & being of good use. Even tho everyone was helpful no one stood out as much as this bright young lady, Aryanna, she stuck out like a sore thumb. I only remember her name because of how unique it was. She was extremely helpful and caring, her soft spoken nature really set the perfect exit for this store. She was polite and bagged my items, my conversation with her was very natural and she wasn't too overbearing. If I were to ever come back to this store I would only hope to be helped by her again. Whilst TJ's super busy on Sunday evenings and most week nights after office work hours, I've enjoyed this new location at off peak. Much less likely to come across grump drivers chasing down parking spots. Love the wider aisles and the fresher flowers collection kept cool indoors. Usually have found flowers bought at this TJ's to last longer too. Shout out to Chess. He literally made my day when at the mere mention of how sad I was that my last bouquet of roses died within a day what with this heat wave persisting, he offered me a replacement on the spot! Wow! This is what keeps us all TJ lovers coming back over and over. You can always count on above and beyond customer treatment, especially at this location. I went to Trader Joe's with friends on Tuesday night. I walked around the store but I only purchased some fruit and a turkey wrap. I came back tonight to purchase some items from my management team: as I walked around the store over and over again looking for things my team would appreciate and enjoy. I realized that Trader Joe's is a small box store. It caters to smaller families and individuals who Cook individual meals. I really like that fact that the packages are smaller. The prices are suitable as well. I actually got 2 bags of groceries for $45 bucks. Hello...that would never be the case in Hawaii. They offer everything a bill super market has. Fresh Meats, vegetables, flowers, adult beverages and frozen foods. I walked round and round looking for simple items to take back. I found friend coconut, candied almonds, Pecan Pralines, Maple Leaf Sandwich Cookies, low carb pasta heart of palm, coconut strips, and ginger dipped in dark chocolate. I took a chance of gift items this time: When I come back next time, I'll have a better idea of what to purchase at this Trader Joe's. read more

Just had a really negative interaction with the manager today around the 1pm hour. I've been going out of my way for DECADES to shop at TJ's because of the friendly employees and great customer experience. I was treated poorly today at checkout by the manager. This place is known for accepting returns--no questions asked. But when the manager looked at the half empty bottle of Kombucha I was returning he looked at me skeptically and gave me attitude as though I was trying to pull a fast one on him. I explained it was spoiled as so many of the Kombucha batches are at TJ's for whatever reason. I felt belittled and quite taken aback by his response especially as I was checking out with almost $200 worth of groceries. How is this guy even a manager?... he doesn't possess any of the customer relationship skills required for this job. I've never had an issue with a return before at this location and everyone I meet is wonderful. Very frustrated. I walked out feeling like I did something wrong and he made me question whether I want to return to this location. read more

This was my first time venturing to Trader Joe's since before the start of quarantine. I had been scared off due to the long lines to get in. There was a line when I went yesterday, but they were taking advantage of the mall parking lot and used traffic cones to distance people. There were maybe 20 people in line, and it was not a long wait. A few people would exit, and they would let in the same number. Once inside, it was fairly orderly. They had directions in each row to keep the flow going. Most things were fairly well stocked. I was pleasantly surprised to find my favorite hand soap was in stock. Check out lines were wide open. This Trader Joe's is fairly new. All I can say is thank God Culver City allowed them to put this in the neighborhood. I used to go to the Trader Joe's in Westchester but now that this location has opened I don't think I'll ever go back . The Culver City location is much more spacious inside as well as the parking lots. This Trader Joe's is in the parking lot connected to the Westfield Shopping Plaza (The Fox Hills Mall). So at times it can be a bit congested but it's still better than the a Westchester and Manhattan Beach locations. The employees are very nice , friendly and helpful and the store is always clean as well as very well stocked. I'm here bi-weekly and have yet to ever be disappointed. It's here! Trader Joe's in Fox Hills had its long-awaited opening today in the 90230 next to the Westfield Culver City (artist formerly known as the Fox Hills Mall). By now, most of us know what to expect from a Trader Joe's - an "ok" produce selection, excellent snacks and frozen food, lots of drinks, and some local flare. This one is brand new, and the community was pretty stoked about it on opening day today. Sprouts across the street has some of the longest checkout lines this side of Costco, so I'm hopeful that the area can support both TJ and Sprouts. The things that really set the new Fox Hills location apart from other Trader Joe's are: 1) Really wide aisles. You can actually turn your cart around without hitting someone! Compared to the Trader Joe's in Palms, this is a California King size bed to Palms' Full size dorm bed. 2) A much less insane parking situation. It's still busy, but you can find a spot and don't have to creep on people walking to their cars. 3) Checkouts are named for the local community - Sepulveda, Green Valley Circle, Hannum, etc. It's a really nice touch! Fox Hills has been waiting for this to open for a long time, and I'm pretty thrilled that it's here. It's the best Trader Joe's in the area - better than Westchester, way better than Palms.
