Not sure what the issue is but almost every time I order something from the deli for delivery it shows up with ingredients missing and clear preparation instructions not followed. The salads are delivered with mostly lettuce and barley any of the other ingredients and the already pricey $14 sandwiches show up looking like $6 sandwiches. It's like the employees working the deli get a kick out of doing a half-ass job if the customer is not physically present staring down their throats while they're making your order. Only then do you get a decent sandwich/salad. Having to return the next day for a replacement is a major inconvenience and receiving a refund doesn't correct the sad order I received and still had to eat. This has happened too many times. Usually I live coming here but today closing up shop and I was met with the rudest employee "Kelly" who was locking the doors ten minutes in advance of the 11:00pm close. The other employee was yelling her name to open up but she just ignored. She proceeded to open the door with 5 minutes left telling me they closed up and there is nothing she can do about it. I used to come here for their ceasar salad and loved it. I think the dressing has changed, not as great, but their ranch is impressive! We ordered fries and they were a pure blob of soggy oil, no crunch whatsoever. My biggest complaint however is the deli employees, they were quite rude and seemed totally put out when I asked for substitutions on my salad and when I asked for condiments for my fries. Until last October, I was a weekly Yummy customer, at a minimum. When I moved less than a mile away in October it put me in Yummy Playa Vista territory. I've ordered a total of 4 times in the last 5 months, as a result. The products sold by Yummy Playa Vista are either near expiration or already expired. This never happened at other Yummy branches. The prepared food at Yummy Playa Vista is AWFUL. How do you ruin a BLT? Toast the bread and cook the bacon until they shatter into dust with every bite. Yummy Playa Vista also sells salads that STINK like rotting lettuce when you open the container. Yummy Playa Vista sells egg sandwiches that cause GI problems (food poisoning). I don't shop here because their prices are much higher than the chain grocery stores like Sprouts, Trader Joe's, Ralphs, Vons, etc. On occasion, my co-workers & I will drop by to pick-up something from their deli that also offers fresh squeezed juices, though it's quite expensive. :-| I've been to the market a few times & one of my favorite sandwiches is their SPICY CHIPOTLE CHICKEN CLUB (Boar's Head chipotle chicken, avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, La Brea Bakery white bread). It's a decent size sandwich will adequate filling/bread to protein & veggies ratio. I could use some banana peppers &/or jalapeños for some acidity or heat, but it's still a decent sandwich that's pretty satisfying. Sometimes service is slow with the influx of lunch rush customers, & there's only 1 cashier handling the register. People, please have your cash or cc ready instead of waiting to approach the cashier & pulling out whatever form of payment. Yeesh! The portions of turkey as you'll see in the picture were huge, which I love, but it's inconsistent in how it's made every single time and it seems like there is a little urgency when the lunch crowd is in there and it's backed up. Some items they have outstanding quality options include: ice cream (including Halo Top and McConnells), coffee (sbux, Peet's, Groundwork, Illy, etc), water and other beverages (vitamin water, coconut water, kombucha, beer, wine, whiskey, etc). Produce is good quality but not organic usually. Decent variety for fruits and vegetables for a small store. Smattering of household items (eg toilet paper, garbage bags, batteries, etc). Boo-hoo I had to wait in line...I have to pay a wellness fee (every delivery place has an extra charge now, welcome to CA) What a bunch of entitled millennial whiners! First off, tell me one grocery store that delivers at nearly midnight? Delivery people are always super friendly, order is always accurate. They used to come in a half-hour. I understand they are busier now, so it may be an hour or more, but big-deal. If you can't wait that long, go drive your butt to the store. The downsides are that they are small, so you might not find the exact brand you want. Sometimes they run out of items, even though the website says it is in stock. But at least they call and warn you and ask if you want a replacement. The biggest downside I have found is the produce section. In general I won't buy produce from Yummy. Sorry. I get the best pairs (which is odd, I had given up on finding good pairs) Zucchini and bananas have been alright, but everything else has either had bad spots or has just not been fresh/good. They definitely could use a complete overhaul of the produce. They make the BEST fresh brownies though. And the mixed cut-up fruit is expensive but worth it. read more

I love yummy.com but recently it's been a little disappointing. I'm pretty obsessed with yummy and my fiancé always urges me not to use the service because of how pricy it is, but I LOVE the convenience. My last few orders havent been very fresh. My most recent order came with a molded onion and they didn't deliver my salmon (or charge me for it) which I assume means it was out of stock but there was no communication or call about the out of stock item. I started to prep some things tonight for a meal and I was disappointed to discover that some of my items were missing or intensely molded. I typically spend anywhere from 40.00-100 per week at yummy and I'm kind of disappointed today. I loved Yummy.com and have been a good customer for over 10 years. I loved how easy it to order and get your groceries so quickly. They were always nice and courteous. If they didn't have something you ordered, they would call and talk about a substitute. TODAY will be the LAST time I ever order from Yummy.com. My order was 30 minutes last. Ok, usually no big deal. But I called the Playa Vista store to inquire about the delivery. I wanted to make sure the delivery person wasn't lost or having problems getting into my building. The person who answered said the delivery person had left 23 minutes prior to my call. The person said he was going to call him and put me on hold. I was on hold for 8 minutes and no one ever came back on the line. Driver showed up. My bread had been substituted with a brand I wouldn't have allowed as no one ever called me. Driver called store, and miraculously got through to someone. I will say they offered to bring the bread I ordered tomorrow. But I guess I was still so mad about being on eternal hold. Which no one seemed to be apologetic for that. Now let's talk about the "wellness" charge. Why should I have to pay their medical insurance coverage and give a tip? This 4.92% charge is ridiculous. We should be given the option to pay this additional surcharge. I asked to have my delivery charge reversed. Let's see if that happens. Any time he was trying to explain hey I forgot my valet and I know I can use my phone to pay, she was getting angry and turning eyes and cutting him off. Why? I have been a Yummy customer using their delivery service since they began and would have given 5 stars a few months ago. But they changed my store from Century City to Playa Vista and I am finding that they are always out of carrot cake and the deli fancy chicken salad is not as good. They have good promotions with as much as $10 off and have something called PERK that seemed like a good idea but didn't work for me as I paid to have free delivery and then got charged. Also, the corporation has grown and does not find it necessary to communicate with the stores that deliver. (Stores never heard of PERK or know that there is a sale and that is why they are extra busy.) I am still using them as I like most of the product. read more

Very impressed with their service. I ordered a couple sandwiches, salads, sodas online since I couldn't peel myself away from work. They delivered with the super quickness (they deliver till 12 midnight!!) Even though they screwed up one of the sandwich orders, I called them and they apologized and sent it out right away. Super grateful to have this location in our building. Extremely convenient and they pretty much have everything you may (or may not) need at decent price points. They also have sales every week on their grocery items if you check on their website. But let's get to the good part. Their rotisserie chicken is the truth. Dayum! They work some dry herb rub all over the chicken before roasting and then flash FRY it (unless you ask them not to, but why would you do that??) Makes such a difference. So bomby. I'm a fan of yummy.com. They have delicious soups, an amazing chicken and fries special and their sandwiches are really fresh. The sandwiches are a bit bulky and bready for me, but they are good and fresh. They also have the most amazing cookies at the deli. They offer a good wine selection and basic household items to grab if you don't have time to go to a larger grocery store. There is a cute outdoor seating area. There is usually parking available in the far end of the parking lot, if you are lucky you can get a spot on the street. The location is very convenient and they deliver which is really nice for those lazy days. They are a bit pricey, but I believe that's because of their location and the fresh-ness of their food. I just received my third order in a row where we were shorted items. That in itself isn't that big of a deal especially during a pandemic, but each time these guys charged me for what I didn't get. To make matters worse if you call the playa vista location it consistently will say the line is busy. Note to management: a service provider is measured by its customer service. If no one can get ahold of you then that speaks volumes about your company. I also sent an email months ago when this happened the first time, and never got a response. All in all it seems that yummy's MO is to charge a premium due to the times, and then not give a shit about service. I rarely go to Yummy.com because this place is pricey but when I want to pick up something really quick, fresh and delicious for under $10 for lunch, this place is it. (FYI: It is right across the street from my work.) I usually get one of their fresh sandwiches for under $8 pre tax or their half rotisserie chicken with french fries for $5.99 pre tax. I absolutely love their pesto chicken sandwich because you get thick slices of chicken, fresh slice of tomato, thick slices of mozzarella cheese, pesto spread and on some really great bread. It is delicious because you taste freshness and quality. Also the sandwich doesn't look huge but believe, you will be full after the first half of your sandwich. Seriously, everyone stop complaining about the price. You have to expect it when you are in nicer areas, everything is pricier. The ingredients are fresh and you can pretty much make any substitutions you want with little or no additional cost. That said, this is the most inconvenient convenience store around. Man they are SLOW. The sandwich makers aren't individually that slow, but they just do not have enough people working the deli line. At lunchtime, expect to wait at least 10 to 15 minutes after ordering before your food is ready. The deli prices aren't too bad, considering the sandwiches are much better than anything Subway or Quiznos has to offer. The prices for the fresh produce and other grocery items are outrageous though ($3.00 for a rice krispie treat?! You've got to be kidding me). If you're in a hurry, try ordering online.
