1 line open: 8 customers in line. Manager behind in blue opens a line for employees only. Customer service?

This store has so much potential, but it fails on so many aspects! It's a nighborhood store tucked away in the middle of Westchester. It's about 1/3 of the size of a normal Vons grocery store, so many items are not stocked on the shelves. I've been shopping here for about 10 years, not because I like the store. It's because it is convenient.. First off, this Vons has one of the worst customer service. *ALL* of the cashiers, except for Jeff and Glenda, are super cranky. I've even called out the cashiers several times about slamming my items on the conveyor belt. Secondly, the lines to check out are oftentimes rediculous! The store only has 4 lanes to check out customers, but oftentimes, they only have 2 lanes open. It is often the case that the lines grow to 9-12 customers long. Thirdly, there is a lot of shoplifting and loitering here. There is a middle-school located right across the street, and on a daily basis, the students come to the store after school and begin to shoplift snacks and drinks. I've seen this 5+ times and even have broght it to the attention of the management. Nothing was done. This results in higher prices for us customers who actually pay for our items.

This shows the you pay price and the additional 30% I was supposed to get.

For being a customer that comes weekly I'm beyond disappointed in how my last two trips have been. Today I'm confused as to how I'm wrong. I purchased a London broil with a you pay price of $4.41 with a manager 30% off the lowest price. When at checkout the cashier would not adjust the price and said "whatever the computer says is the price." He refuses and there was a manager by us and not one of them wanted to even do the basic math to show the actual price. My point at the end was it's priced with a sticker plus an additional discount and I'm walking out paying .14 less then the you pay price. Anyone that can do math san see that it's incorrect. But hey the computer said it.

Located in a residential area- like imagine driving down your street and Pop, WOW IT'S A VONS! :) I know the neighborhood loves it! I like this Vons because it's small, carries everything I need and is close to my kids school. Only thing is it's always very cold inside. The also have awesome meat deals, and rarely a long line!

I randomly came across this Von's while on a walk around my neighborhood. It is tucked in the middle of Kentwood. The location is very convenient when looking for that last minute item or snack. If you are looking for a specific (rarer) item you might not find it here because this is a smaller & nimbler market. Too me they have pretty much whatever I need from drinks, meats, cleaning products, soups, dairy, cereals, deli, bakery and produce to name a few. Really good selection in honeycrisp apples (when in season) and avocados. One of the negatives is the parking which fills up when the nearby schools let out. Be careful a lot of these people drive like asshats to pick up their kids. A majority of the customers are locals and college students. I like it because it reminds me of my favorite market up in Bishop - Joseph's Bi-Rite Market. Quaint where most of the employees are familiar with the regulars. The Ralph's is closer to me but I still prefer to come here.

Not a great store, check outs inconsistent, and rude employees. Save time and go to Trader Joe's or Whole Foods.

Management has a poor attitude and terrible customer service skills. All I ask is be polite and that seems to be hard for this store.

I had just come back from going…read moreout and ran into my mom in front of the elevator, and she asked me to go to the market with her. But honestly, this place is absolutely terrible and horrible. Both my mom and I agreed that we will never come back here again. My mom had come to get a refund because one of the pears she bought the day before was completely rotten. The market manager refunded $2 to her credit card, which was fine. The real problem started after that. When my mom was trying to drive out of the parking lot, the gate bar went up after scanning the parking ticket, but then suddenly came crashing down. If my mom hadn't quickly backed up, it could have hit her car. The bigger issue was that after that, the gate bar never went back up again. Cars behind us had to use another exit nearby. My mom, who was very shaken, went to ask the market manager what to do, but she said she didn't know. (At first, I stayed in the car and had to tell the cars behind us to use the other exit because the gate was not working). I was very upset when I heard that, so I went inside and asked the manager for the building management's contact number. She gave me a number, but when I called, the person who answered kept saying she couldn't find the address even after I repeated it more than ten times. Eventually, she told me they no longer manage that building. So I asked her to provide the contact number for the property management that handles the building, and she gave me another number. but it led to an automated system. After selecting the emergency option, a man answered, but even after I clearly spelled out "Zion" multiple times (Z as in Zebra, I as in Ice cream, O as in Oscar, N as in Nancy), he still couldn't understand and then told me that they no longer manage the building and hung up. We arrived at the market around 5 PM and didn't get out until 7 PM. No one helped us at all. After the call, I went back to the market manager again, but she still said she didn't know anything. It made me so angry--how can a manager not even know the property management contact for the building they work in? I also have low blood sugar, so when I get hungry, I start shaking. I ended up buying a piece of bread from the Paris Baguette inside the market. I didn't have cash with me, so I had to pay $3.50 with my card, but thankfully, the staff there was very kind. In the end, my brother had to come all the way from Burbank to get a new parking ticket for us so we could finally get out--after two hours. If he hadn't come, we might have been stuck there even longer or had to abandon the car. Thinking about it now still makes me extremely angry. The customer service is terrible, the building management is a mess, and there was no security at all. I never want to come back to this place. We spent two hours there, from 5 PM to 7 PM, completely wasting our time. Because of this, I couldn't do anything I had planned for the rest of the afternoon and evening. It was an absolute nightmare. My mom was also very upset and couldn't believe a place like this exists. FYI) Every time I come to this market, there is absolutely no cell phone signal., which is another major downside.

Similar to other Asian market set ups you'll be able to pick up hot food and other items like sashimi as well as other Japanese snacks and goodies. I also happened to pick up some good protein shakes on sale there as well as noted some other staples that I would find in big chain supermarkets. I found the aisles to be well stocked. Prices everywhere are going up so I wouldn't say this is the cheapest place to shop but for what you get it's not bad, and if you are looking to get a variety of what you need for Asian cooking this is a good spot for it. Service was quick and friendly at the register as this no frills and casual market. There is a parking garage behind the grocery as part of the mall but it can get crowded on weekends so if you're lucky you can find street parking but watch for street signs and some areas and streets are not in the best neighborhoods adjacent so be wary of your surroundings.

I asked her how things worked and she explained it all. The kefir/kombucha bottles are $4 for 16 oz and they have 3 of each on tap. I asked Marcy about one before realizing everything had a QR code and you can easily pull up the ingredients and descriptions/directions for each item. I'm getting away from plastics and this place scratches me right where I itch! They sell just about anything you can imagine! I was so impressed w the selection! They even have produce and fresh sourdough bread! The day old is 50% off and I'm so mad I was in a pinch and had to buy store bought bread, otherwise I would've tried it today. I can't say enough. Even the music was fire and I was shazaming and jamming. Shower gels, body care, non seed oils, baking mixes, laundry pods and things you see in bulk at like Sprouts, but the quality and sourcing seems to be better. Some items don't need jars and they sell paper bags for .10 each. I did a kombucha/kefir tasting. Marcy brought these steel bowls over. No waste at all! If you drink the POG kefir soda at Erewhon and love it, try it here! It's made w fruit and is noticeably better! And POG there is my fave. Just try it at Re_!!! So when I was checking out I asked Marcy about being more prepared and bringing my own glasses next time. They've thought of everything!!!! There's iPads and scales in the front of the store. They weigh your empty containers and give you a sticker with the tare weight and then subtract it from the weight at the end! Revolutionary! They add 3% for the employees. I should've added more. Marcy was amazing and worth it. I'm honestly not big on tipping everyone for just breathing but if all the employees are like Marcy, they are worth way more than 3%! If you sign up you get 100 points instantly, $1 = 1 pt, and at 200 pts you get $10! It's not hard to spend in places like this but it's beyond worth it. I keep seeing things about the harms of plastic and don't get me started on all the other crap in our food. I foresee this as a new staple in my diet and home. They even have cleaning products! I'm getting my spices here from now on too! I'm a fan and I'll be back! Thank you Marcy and to the owners that had this amazing idea!
