The first time I went to an Aldi, I fell in love. High quality items for cheap, (I found Chipwich sandwiches for a dollar, you!) and the mystery specials of the week made it fun to visit Aldi on the regular. This particular one was dreary. The section with the holiday specials looked like a Ross on opening day, with most of the merchandise on the ground. Maybe it's because I went during the holidays, but it was a little miserable visiting this location. They had holiday stuff that you'd find at a Ross or a dollar store, but not the cool weird items you could find on a weekday when everything is replenished. Too bad, but maybe comin during the day when it's well stocked makes for a better experience. read more

Lashawn has to be the worse cashier I've ever encountered at Aldi, and I really like this Aldis and have never experienced such service. My food was thrown, straight into the cart, piling, not a care in the world, of what was getting broke, smashed or tearing off of the bag. Just made the experience unfortunate and not delightful, I should have just gone to El Super right across the street, but I really wanted to see what goods Aldis had. I witnessed a gentleman trying to grab his two items, and she pushed the cart away while he was chasing after his eggs, that was disgusting. So rushed and rude, made the ambiance for some of us uncomfortable. If I see her, on my next return, I'm not going to her line, and if she's the only one there, I'm out. read more

Bad service. I ordered delivery. I got charged for a salmon that I was supposed to be refunded for. Plus because of my finances I was not able to add a tip to the groceries and I made sure that I was very clear about that online. And they Still charged me over $7 for a tip. The shopper named Taylor, was very unprofessional. She came to my door in a huff handed me an extremely heavy box and I am disabled and she wasn't even thinking of that as a possibility. After I close the door I heard her cursing into her phone angrily and very loud using the f word and what not in the hallway talking to somebody. Plus there is no phone number for this market. So I had to go online to make the complaint and to make sure I got my money back. The portion that was due to me. If I don't hear from them I'm going to go through my Discover card and get my refund.Not going to do this again. I tried it once and once is enough. read more

The good: They have really interesting finds here including frozen Indian pizza, bulgogi pizza, brownie and confetti cake bites made of 5 different vegetables for kids and more. They already have tons of fun pumpkin stuff including pumpkin cookies that have a cutout so you can hang it off of a coffee mug. I also got cherry chocolate milk. The bad: There was only one register open. The people in line blocked the walkway. The interesting: They sold acrylic wall containers for kids' storage for $14.99 (great price!). They sold the same ravioli I saw at Costco. read more

I love going to Aldi because they typically have discounted prices and unique treats that all grocery stores do not have. Lately, I've been noticing this location has been low on a lot of items. I visited three days in a row in hopes of finding their awesome atomic pickles, and the low cost protein drinks and name branded Greek yogurts, but no luck, shelves were empty with the cardboard boxes still holding their place. Things are not generally restocked days later, and it hinders us "after work" shoppers who cannot go on the weekend or early mornings. This is a large location, but lines are long as there is usually 1-2 cashiers available. It certainly takes away from the "convenience" of this location. Because their prices are unbeatable, I may no longer stop at this location specifically with the risk of them not having the items I need. read more

I typically go shop at Ralph's or Vons & sometimes I like to go to different groceries to see what I can find (like Whole Foods or Trader Joe's ) . I suggest to go shop at Aldi first then go to a different market for anything you don't find. *I was looking for plain yogurt but there was only greek yogurt . The yogurt could've been sold out but I didn't find any or ask. * But honestly this store has a lot of good things ! The strawberries were at a really good price & so good ! Found all of my beloved German Christmas candy here and they have the same cheap prices as in my country. Absolutely incredible. My sister turned me onto all these a couple years ago. I like it so much that I drive 30 minutes out of my way to go grocery shopping there. I like to eat a pack of beef jerky while I'm there lol. The stores are all set up the same very convenient. They don't have 20 different brands for one product say for instance, peanut butter all these may have three different types. They're not namebrand but they're all good and you have a few to choose from. They used to have these big huge grapes that were just burst in your mouth, I loved eating a fine of those while I was in the store too. You don't get bags at Aldi's. You have to either bring your own or I like to use the old boxes and fill up my food and take it home and then throw away the boxes in the dumpster over by my place. That's about as green as I can get... You got a put a quarter in the shopping cart. It releases itself with a little change to the next grocery cart so they are locked together and keep somebody from having to go out into the parking lot and retrieve grocery carts. I'm sure that keeps down the cost which they then pass on to their shoppers. That's me. Period the store is real clean and they may only have 3-4 people running the store at a whole time. That again keep down the cost normal Grocery store would probably have 15 people. Not all AlDi's. .If you have never shopped at an Aldi's you should give them a try. If it wasn't for my persistent sister making me shop their, I would never even heard of their name. I'm glad I did. To me it's likethe Trader Joe's. Stores. As of a few weeks ago, this has been the main store that I shop at. You can get so much fresh produce for cheap. I love stocking up on blueberries and strawberries. Not everything is a bargain, but you're saving a ton of money if you were to compare to a store like Ralph's. read more

Cashiers are rude. Poor Customer Service. I am 69 and disabled and needed a cart inside of the store, when I found one and brought it to the cashier, she informed me that it was her cart (it was sitting near the exit next to the grocery loading table) and I would have to go outside and retrieve one. After arguing with her about it she told me I could go shop at another store if I didn't like the service, because they have a lot of customers. Not a good way to retain customers. read more

The security guard named Robert at Aldi's greeted me at the beginning before entering the store, in which he added a joke. It cracked me up and made my day. The store is clean and organized compared to other stores. Some items lack pricing but it doesn't hold back from the experience of shopping here. At the end, when returning the buggy, I spoke to Robert and let him know that he's one of the main reasons I will be back. He's such a great vibe and very knowledgeable as well as respectful. Being European I'm familiar with the German supermarket chain "Aldi." It's a basic concept. Nothing fancy, it's rather basic. This is far from Trader Joe's, Wholefoods or even your typical American Ralph's or Safeway. Groceries are displayed in a very basic way. It saves time thus labor which all equals "cheap." In my opinion we need more stores like this next to my favorite Trader Joe's and Wholefoods. Even though I frequently shop at the latter and definitely at TJ's, I think Aldi is contributing and there's nothing with healthy competition for Safeway -Ralph's. Indeed, take a quarter and get your shopping cart. This store is not huge, but enough choice. Their fresh produce section -I'm talking lettuce and whatnot - isn't the best so I don't buy it here. I'm trying to eat mostly vegetarian, so can't judge the meat department. Will try their pork roast because it looked pretty good to me for a Sunday roast. Will definitely be back. read more

So sweet to have an Aldi nearby. I've seen one in Germany and wondered what they could be like in the US. The store was so clean, the aisles were so wide and the employees were so happy! Yeah, a quarter to take the cart, but, "Hey Wendy, you get it back :)" This has been Germany's answer to carts in the parking lot for years and it's something Costco could pick up on. Also very German was the checkout: you are expected to bag for yourself and the checkers are so fast you won't be able to keep up. Selection is great for all basics. Prices are incredibly low. We were just dropping by to look and we came out with a cartload of stuff. Don't miss the chocolate. read more

I was very disappointed shopping at Aldis on Crenshaw and Century. I was a fan of your fruits and vegetables, but this time everything that I bought was no good. There where no bags for your produce and the basket quarter machine hasn't worked in months. The basket area needs to be washed down as well. Every time I come to Aldi I am supried how many new organic items they have! Parking lot is big so there's always a spot available Don't forget your reusable bags a quarter for a shopping cart! (I love this system, it's nice not having to dodge carts in the parking lot) The store aisles are huge! They offer many products $1-$4 cheaper than average stores. I've fallen in love with the simply nature brand, from the cheese to the yummy teddy grams to the chicken broth, everything is delicious. They offer many products for basic shopping, I'd say the same quality as sprouts and trader Joe's for such a better bargain. The weekly specails are always really good, I recently went and got chicken for $.69 per pound, great quality meat and can't beat the deal. I suggest going early on in the day if you want a certain item in their ad, many times they have run out by the night and I miss out. The check out is always quick. The cashier scans everything and puts it in the cart. Once you pay there are counters on the side to bag items. I personally prefer this because for some reason the bagger at most places like to squish my bread or bananas! Aldi is my new grocery shopping stop, if you tired it a few months ago and didn't care for it I'd say give it another try! They have really improved their organic section. read more

Pretty good. I've never been to a bad Aldi and this one is decent. Sometimes they run out of a specific item that is a regular which is no fun but as a whole they're good. I've also caught the occasional error on the receipt as well. But as a whole the store is clean as as Aldi shoppers know, they have some great, unique products; especially the organic items. Cashier's are also good here - Aldi cashiers are always much faster than the typical cashier at other stores. read more

Aldi has been cropping up here, there, everywhere on social media and some friends who went would return saying, "You HAVE to go." These starry eyed friends talked about Aldi with the kind of reverence some people reserve for Disneyland. It's affordable! It's innovative, those carts! Bring your bags! European chocolate and cheese! What was this place though? An equivalent of TJ's? Or Walmart? Why do they sell bath mats alongside onions? Truthfully, I was happy with my local TJ's but they had me at European chocolate and cheese because those friends across the pond gave us Nutella. *Bows in thanks* So my first venture to Aldi started with getting a cart, and I did my homework and came prepared with my quarter and brandished it not sure where the coin slot would be. I inserted my quarter into the slot on the right of the cart and the chain link released from the other carts with a satisfying clink! And so I passed my first Aldi initiation and I was free to peruse the store. It looked a bit like a miniaturized Costco with products still in the boxes they were likely shipped to the store in, and the strange assortment of non-food items in the middle of the store with food items on the perimeters. But first, chocolate! So I plopped a few hazelnut milk chocolate crisp bars near the entrance into my cart and continued on to find some brands I recognized, and some I almost recognized (Is that you, Recess Puffs cereal?? Oh hm Chocolate Peanut Butter Puffs.. ok yeah I guess I know you too... *hesitantly plops into cart*). So you can see how people who shop at larger chain grocery stores like Ralph's may be elated to find their Pop tarts at nearly half the price at Aldi's. And this being LA county, the mecca of multi-ethnic food here in California, I even found a 5-pack of legit Korean Shin Ramen selling for even cheaper than at the Korean grocery stores. I was thoroughly impressed, and even joyful when I saw my receipt at the end of my visit. While the layout of the store isn't cheerful like at TJ's, Aldi's employees free from having to individually stock products are free to spend more time cleaning. This must be why the store was immaculate. There was one employee riding a floor polishing/cleaning machine the whole time I was there over the already shining floor, and I could have sworn he was following me cleaning my trailing footsteps like Mo in the Wall-E movie. Now if I had to be picky, I admit Aldi's fresh produce collection was underwhelming. The condition of the lettuce had me hoping that these things weren't also shipped from Europe because they looked like they went through some rough times to get to that Aldi shelf. Ditto on those skinny asparagus. I would also skip the frozen salmon. I brought those home and they were falling apart once defrosted with an unpleasant grey cast and smelled something terrible. I always thought that chefs we're pulling my leg when they say you should toss fish if they smell fishy. I thought, what are you even talking about Gordon Ramsay, it's fish, they smell fishy! But no... Gordon was right. There's fishy.. and then there's fiiiishhyyy. And that salmon was fiiiiiiissshhhyyy. So here's to hoping Aldi improves some of their fresh food options, and hope they keep up the great job doing what they do. Those carts are in fact brilliant. I've been shopping at this location from the time it was built. I don't have not one complaint. Parking is sweet because there's plenty. It's shared with other stores and restaurants.I love their setup and the way they operate. A quarter for the use of the baskets was a fantastic idea. At lease that ensures that a customer would always have a basket to use. They are neat, clean and always organized. The team members are awesome. Always ready to help and very quick about getting you out of line. Their prices rock. The food selections are very upgraded and healthy. Diana was my cashier this visit and she was very upbeat and outgoing. Very good customer service and very much about her job. She was one step ahead of my thoughts the whole transaction and in my opinion that is one way to keep a line moving. This is one of my favorite stores!!!! read more

Stopped in to Aldi Market this morning before Thanksgiving, not that crowded at all. Aisles were clean, items stocked and prices low as normal. The entrance was a little different from the Aldi in Cerritos but overall same set up. I tried the graham crackers and they were the same as the regular name brand graham crackers. Cashews were the same as if you were to buy them from Costco but cheaper. You really can't beat this store. Yes I know there are other discount markets but really Aldi is pretty good. Chips are the same as the Lays brand, cheetos are the same (maybe a little less cheesy) but the same. Poultry is the same, produce is the same, meat ? Not sure about that yet, but all in all the same but for a fraction of the cost. Parking was abundant but because of the construction at the intersection, it's a little difficult getting in. read more

I usually always enjoy my trips to Aldi's. They have great prices and nice produce. I know some of the reviews complain of the small selection BUT people fail to realize they sell mostly their store brand (just like Trader Joe's) because they're part of the Trader Joe's company, so it's to be expected. I love the unique products in the meat and cheese section, which are great for holidays and get togethers! They have so many cheeses, meats, and spreads! The other gripe about having to pay a quarter to borrow a cart, it's like come on people.. I've seen this at many stores since I was a kid. It encourages most people to put the cart back where they got it, as opposed to putting it in the parking lot where it will roll and scratch your car or take up a parking spot, so I think it's gr read more

We're headed to our closest Costco (in Inglewood) and on the way there I hear "Look! There's an Aldi!" Of course I was driving and couldn't see it other than catch a quick glance. "Do you think it's open?" I ask. "Yeah, there are people going in and out" she said. That was it. This was the moment I've been waiting for. Just when you're griping, moaning and complaining about Trader Joe's cramped parking and some snooty clientele, from the same-German-family that own's Trader Joe's, may we present the more experienced, bigger brother: Aldi! After our Costco trip we bounded up to Aldi in the nearly adjacent parking lot. We were greeted by 2 smartly dressed employees, one which actually gave us FREE earth bags. "How many days have you been open?" I ask. In a very subdued tone the Aldi employee whispers "Today is the first soft opening day. Tomorrow is the grand opening. You must come back for it! We're giving out gift cards from $25-$100 for the first 100 customers in the door." That's ok, I'm here now. And off we go. My only other experience stateside with Aldi was in Texas...very sad, bare bones store there where you feel like you're getting sloppy seconds. Here it's like my other Aldi experience in the motherland. And between the two, I'm very pleased to report this newest SoCal Aldi is very much representative of it's German heritage: wide aisles, very clean, neatly and logically organized, lots of organic (nearly 50% as much as TJ's though), and practical items like $9.98 umbrella stands (yes) and a solid wooden deck umbrella $21.99 (yes and yes). This is what I'm talking about. Let us pray this will be like all future Aldi's we have to look forward to in SoCal. I'm about 7 miles east but it's totally worth the drive because Aldi fills in any gaps you might have from Trader Joe's at extremely competitive prices with very good quality (Choice graded meat, for example). As long as wages stay stagnant among the middle class it's foreign retailers like Aldi, Daiso and Uniqlo that are going to be a real threat to established American legacy retailers. read more

This supermarket is located on a busy section of Century Blvd, a mile or two east of Hollywood Park Casino. The parking lot is big. You bring your own bags or buy brown paper bags at 15 cents each, their way of telling you to bring your own bags. Departments include produce (some organic), fresh meat including chicken, frozen foods, canned goods, beer and wine, cookies crackers and candy (chocolate), paper products,dairy, etc. The aisles are extremely wide compared to Von's or Ralphs. Quality is excellent and the store is very clean. I was there early on a Sunday night and 4 checkstands were open. The cashier scans your purchases, puts them back into a cart, you pay via cash or credit/debit card, then wheel your cart over to be a counter area where you can leisurely bag your goodies. Prices are about 25% to 75% BELOW traditional supermarkets. I won't bore you with the details. Just check out other reviews or check it out yourself. Bottomline, Aldi's due to their weak selection of produce will not be my everyday market, but I will shop there once a week to stock up on bargains. read more

I purchased umbrellas from Aldi yesterday. Never opened packages. I went to the store today to return and was told I can't. Never was I informed by the cashier nor is it annotated on my receipt of a No Return policy. I will reporting this to Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs of this bad business practice. The policy should be visible outside the store or in large print in cashier area. Not on a little 2x5 card behind cashier. This store is a great place to go to for higher end items like gourmet cheeses, meat, frozen items but you might be able to find the smaller items for cheaper at other places. Good produce and deli section plus store is very clean. Cashiers don't bag for you so you have to step to the side and bag them for yourself. read more

Something really went wrong with this location. I went there before pandemic, it was clean and easy to shop like other Aldi locations. When I went there last week, it was bad experience. First of all, entrance door was not working, it was supposed to be automatic but it did not open. Lady in front of me had to manually open it. I wanted to tell employee about it because they are losing customers not opening entrances but the only employee I saw was cashier and there was a long line for one cashier. He was already working hard and I did not want to give any extra work since he was already handling long line by himself. Secondly, lots of shelves were empty and the store was not as clean as regular Aldi that I know. I thought maybe this is supply chain issue for less items but I went to Aldi Gardena and Carson following week and they had full of items and both store were clean. Are they giving up the lease or something is that why it's dirty?? I dunno. read more
