This Trader Joe's is on the border of Concord and Walnut Creek, at a very busy intersection. There is a lot of parking, since it is located in a busy strip mall. The staff is generally friendly, they're always putting out new product, and looking for ways to switch the product up to make it more convenient for the customer. It's nice to pop in and grab fruit for the kids, chocolate or some snacks for the wife, and anything to make the week go by a little easier. This place is usually really nice, but I had a disappointing experience today (July 20 around 4:00 p.m.). I was the only person in line and was at the last register on the right with only two items. The cashier clearly saw that I only had two items, while the customer behind me had a full cart. Despite that, he cut me off and started helping her instead. I politely let him know that it was my turn, but he ignored me and replied, "Well, I'm already helping her." The interaction felt very rude and unprofessional. I normally enjoy shopping here, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I hope management addresses this so other customers are treated with the courtesy and respect they deserve. read more

Very nice. But kinda clueless. Went there yesterday and stood in line to check out because the other registers on either side of the cashier had no one at the time. Then suddenly they both opened up but instead of any of the new cashiers looking around to see who was waiting for a while before opening up and signaling to come to their register, they just opened up and started helping others. read more

I'm not a Trader Joes fan as the parking lot is always crazy. I went last Thursday around 11am and it wasn't as crazy as it is usually. I was able to find a parking spot close by and didn't have any struggles exiting. I came here specifically for the sugar coated ginger chews. They also have ginger mints, but I'm not a fan of hard candy so I got the chews. I get the ginger candy for motion sickness. They are a bit hidden, they are on the bottom shelf of the snacks section. You really have to look low and bend over to get them. I wish they didn't sugar coat them as they are sweet enough without the extra sugar. And who really needs that extra sugar. You can also get them on Amazon, but they are cheaper in the store. I got two bags for a 10 day trip so I think I'm set. read more

We wanted some light snacks while gaming with friends at home and decided to try these two items from Trader Joe's and both were great: - Jalapeño & Cream Cheese crispy wontons: these wontons were cheese but also spicy and wrapped in hand-folded wontons. The heat was no joke, just fyi, but they were super good. Highly recommend. - Crispy Vegetable Pouches: first of all these mini pouches were just beyond cute. When baked they became crispy wontons filled with savory vegetables. I love how low in calories these pouches were. And they were delicious with insanely incredible crunch. I'd get these again as well, for sure! We also got the TikTok-famous Raspberry Mousse Cakes, but we haven't tried them. I'll try to update this review in the near future after I try them. read more

The lines moved pretty quickly and there's so much to look at in terms of their seasonal items or just things on the displays that you don't really know that you're standing in line. Great service, great selections and prices! Often very busy so that sucks, but you can get in and out fairly quickly because they've got every register open!! The staff members are very unique and on brand with Trader Joe's general way of doing business, definitely makes it more fun. The bathroom isn't kept clean often enough, but does the trick in a pinch. Only real bummer is they run out of items quickly and their fruit is sometimes moldy after you take it home. read more

This is a great store. Has a ton of food choices that are unique and tasty. And when you can't find something if you can find an employee they are more than happy to help. The only issue here is universal with every Trader Joe's I've ever been to... the parking lot is compact and tight. I like this store location, but I've recieved bad meat twice from this store. First time was salmon, two weeks later I just picked up some chicken thighs... Open vacuum sealed meat and hot with foul smell of rotten meat. Both times purchased, straight home to fridge and open to cook next day. Somewhere along their prices they aren't refrigerating properly OR they aren't pulling old supply quick enough. Either way... hard pass for future purchases. For the record... Huge supporter of Trader Joe stores... But, not bad meat. read more

One of the great Trader Joes in the area. Got the usual Trader Joe stuff but it's one of better run stores of the chain. One time I bought some peaches and when I got them home, turns out they were rotten inside. Couldn't tell from the outside. I went back and showed them, the manager gave me a "case" of peaches in return. Wow. And they were good and I ate them all. That's good service. Support these fine folks. read more

a typical Trader Joe's this one is. medium sized store in a small commercial space. inventory nicely arranged. friendly associates. easy and fast checkouts during non peak hours. parking lot is the usual-almost full, a space is usually accessible. in the olde days i came for the booze, not so now. pita bread (1.69) which is cheaper than the alternative, even grocery outlet (2.29). looked at wild pink argentine shrimp (11.99) which are reputed to be buttery, succulent, fresh. didn't try this one yet. a chain grocery version was crunchy but lacked sweetness. seemed to be sodium enhanced. read more

Trader Joe's is one of my favorite places to shop in general. Service and products are spot on But I have to point out Ryan M. at this location. 2 weeks ago I left and got home to the Green Valley area when my phone dinged me to say I left my keys behind. Thankfully I had my keys, but noticed my AirTag was gone. When I looked I could see it in the parking space where my car was parked but I was now 40 min away. I immediately called Trader Joe's and got Ryan M. He was so polite and kind. He placed me on hold to have someone go out and check as I described exactly where I was parked. Sure enough it was found!!! Thank you Ryan for going out of your way and putting it aside for me. I love all the food I buy at Trader Joe's and it's all delicious. But I'm more thankful for the great customer service i experience whenever I shop here, and even more specifically on this day. This review is specifically for the nasty woman who checked me out the other night. Apparently she'd been having a bad day and took it out on me when I told her that she hadn't asked me if I wanted bags and I wasn't going to pay for two of them so could she please take one off? And instead she decided that she couldn't just give me the 10 cents for the bag like any other normal polite person would do and has done (especially for a senior). So instead she had to pull the bag off of the other one, while I stood there and watched her rip the one bag apart and then give me the bag that I did pay for, also ripped. Totally passive aggressive and very rude, which is a reflection on that store. As if to show her negativity, she was all in black, black cap, & black glasses. You might want to avoid her if you see that rude checker when you go into that store. That said, I really like Trader Joe's in general except for their shrinkflation practices but that seems to be an ongoing issue no matter where you go. read more

This regards repeated problems with milk from TJs. Don't know if this is specific to the location at Treat & Oak Grove or more universally. Probably a good 30-40% of the time, either the milk spoils before expiry date or, as just happened, the content was basically nothing but water. Not a matter of separation, there was little mild solids after shaking several times. I speak about fat-free milk. To the store's credit, they always have me get a replacement. That's nice, but it's a nuisance to have to deal with this repeatedly. My family used to consume lots of milk, and we bought in gallon size. In recent times, our consumption is way down and we resorted to just quart size. Still, the problems continue. It is past time for TJs to consider switching sources. read more

Okay again. I brought home frozen shrimp. Uncooked. Open the bag the fish spoiled smell was overwhelming. Threw it away afraid to thaw out and cook. I don't know why this store has such a problem with their meats and fish. I'm shocked not many people or more people post the same thing. I cannot be the only one. I will forever drive out of my way to shop at this Trader Joe's because RYAN the manager is such a sweetheart. I pray they pay him what he deserves his customer service is out of this world!!! They are so lucky to have him! He's compassionate and goes above and beyond. He helped me with my flower arrangement for my great grandmothers headstone. He didn't even know what I was going through or that this is the first set of flowers for her after the original set from her funeral. He simply was doing his job and checking on me with his amazing customer service and ended up making my day! This is a tough day too but he made it a little less tough with the help he provided me. Now my grandmother will have beautiful flowers until the next time I have to come shop for flowers! I will be back and I'm glad this store has an amazing manger!!! read more

Always a nice experience at this Trader Joe's! This time I was in and out picking up my 15 items or less, and was checked out with the most pleasant and polite man who made nice conversation and was very helpful. I saw his name tag at the time, but forgot his name now. I'll have to update this later if I see him again. Also of note, the salsa, Shredded cheese, pasta and marinara sauce are some of the best around and also the best prices we make a point to come here for those items and more. Can I just give a shout out to this amazing supermarket for being so awesome!  First off, I just bought  Gingerbread People and this is Politically Correct.  The fact that I shop for someone who cannot have preservatives in their diet makes it impossible  to shop, with Trader Joe's being  the exception.  Trader Joe's is not only affordable, but their food is a lot healthier than that GMO nonsense you will find everywhere else.  Can I just say thank you, and please keep doing what you are doing Trader Joes. I love Trader Joes! I could roam around for hours looking for new things to try! Some of my favorite things to pick up are the; Thai chili sauce Any of the cheese (I spend at least an hour looking here) Everything but the bagel season Pita crackers Any and all of the fruits and veggies Dried mango Crunchy onion chili oil Fresh flowers (better than any other store in the area. They last so much longer than any other bunch I have purchased) It is a slight bummer that things can come and go when you get hooked on a product but that just means you can find a new thing to like! read more

It was my first time going to this Trader Joe's location! I had recently bought new wine glasses so I wanted to grab a few wine bottles and also get some stuff to put together a charcuterie board. I love how Trader Joe's has a great selection of specialty cheeses that are affordable without breaking the bank! I love the blueberry or cranberry chèvre and also their brie cheese! They also carry a good assortment of chocolates! My favorite is their s'mores chocolates! Mmm! read more

Most of my grocery shopping is done at Costco, Target, Sam's or Lucky. As you can see, I am not loyal to one store. I chase sales. But when I want something different and unique (i.e. snacks, spices, sauces, etc.) from around the globe I come here. Trader Joe's also offers seasonal items like pumpkin spice or cookie butter everything. Those dark chocolate peanut butter cups are bomb. I keep them in the refrigerator and it's the perfect size for an after dinner treat! They even have a skincare line at pretty reasonable prices. Although Trader Joe's mainly sells their own label, the quality ingredients can't be beat. I'm pretty impressed with the serums and moisturizer that I purchased. Some beauty blogs say that Trader Joe's moisturizer can be compared to high end La Mer. And others say it's on par with Clinique's Moisture Surge. Has that same cooling effect too. These skincare products are under $10! And my skin didn't break out. My skin is soft and supple. Definitely a bargain. Okay I'm stocking up. However, I keep hearing that the shelf life of their breads and produce don't last too long so I stay away from those items unless I know for sure I need an ingredient for a recipe and can use it up quickly. Note to self...don't come here hungry. Even the frozen section can win me over! I was intrigued by the gnocchi cauliflower, creamy spinach & artichoke dip, potstickers and roasted brussel sprouts. And you have to buy a few bags of the Mandarin orange chicken. That's a no-brainer. Easy dinner when you're pressed for time. I probably spent a little over $100 on this haul alone. I forgot to take photos of my frozen items cause I needed to get them in the freezer right away. I visit Trader Joe's maybe twice a month. It's located in the Oak Grove Plaza and there's plenty of parking. Plus the friendly cashiers make it an even happier shopping experience. read more

I usually shop at Trader Joe's on Concord Avenue in Concord. Dropped by the Oak Grove store today for the first time in a long while. Better than I remembered. Like other TJ sites, this one has a great selection of items and friendly, helpful clerks. This store doesn't seem as crowded, probably because the aisles are wider or at least seem that way. All in all a good shopping experience. I expect to be back ... often! read more
