Nice neighborhood market. Huge selection of groceries as well as alcohol, basically anything you need they have. I've only seen young people working here(high school or early 20s) who can be a little aloof but they've never been rude to me or anything. Overall a great corner store! read more

Nobody with money would actually shop here. The staff are rude and act like i steal when in fact i try to look for a drink but every refridgerator is filled with mold. all the drinks are covered in mold and the store has a very mouldy smell. I've lived in this area for a decade and went to the Solano market often the couple who owned the store were awesome friendly and so nice , my daughter liked going there to say hi ,and we did . They sold the store over the pandemic and new owners are awful, practically slammed my items in a bag he didn't want to give me . And yelled in my face NEXT! I just love rude checkout clerks who are so wrapped up in their personal conversations muttering to themselves in some language or other that seem offended you interrupted them. So he rings it up. Scanner at register is sketchy. Finally rings up. I stand there. Waiting...... "Oh are you done ? How much is it?" I guess it's too much effort to tell you. Mumble mumble, I pay, and damn sure get a receipt. Of course he didn't offer one. Too much effort? My stuff is next to him. Across the counter. Could he push it over to me? Oh hell no! So I have to really reach to get my purchases. I love this store and folks here are usually awesome. But if this surly dickhead is what passes for a clerk now, well at least you will understand why your business is dropping. Nobody likes to shop where they don't feel welcome If you don't want to do this job, get a different one buddy. Your terrible at this one and your attitude and crappy customer service sucks. Update: went back late July. Same thing. Clerk so engrossed in conversation with coworker ignored me as ringing up purchase. And it was just way too much effort to them slide my purchase to me. Had to stretch and reach to get it and they were already onto next customer. Hey assholes! Customers pay your salary. Is it a macho thing? Something you did in the county you came from? Or some sort of racist power trip game. Whatever. Boycott this store. It will lose customers maybe close. And these buttholes will never figure it out. My boyfriend and I stopped by this lovely convenience store on the way to the drive-in and was met by this friendly Asian woman at the front. She was super approachable and humble, which made our day that much better. We felt like regulars despite the fact that this was our first trip and I'd for sure come again for any of my snack needs. :) read more

Shopped here for 22 years. The past owners were great. The family who worked there were always friendly. Unfortunately, it changed ownership. The new people working there never greet me and sometimes don't even say a word. One time at the check out stand, I asked where should set my bag of ice down. The cashier rudely and with attitude told me he didn't care. Yesterday, I stopped by and couldn't make it past the door because one of the workers was cleaning a shelf in the entry way. He was in no hurry to clear a path for me and never said a word. When I checked out, the cashier never said a word to me and never asked if I wanted my receipt. I gave them a chance to settle in, but these guys don't have any sense of customer service. After 22 years of shopping there I'm going across the street to Dollar General. read more

I frequent the Salano Market almost daily, the customer service is fast and friendly. If they don't have what you need in certain cases they will order it and see if it sells which gains you access to it. The selection here is not limited to local liquor store type items either. There is fresh cupped fruit and hot food, produce isle, and the booze selection is large. It's comforting to know that my money goes to a family owned business! read more

We were regular weekly customers at this store for 13 years coming in several times a week. My husband had been buying a case of his favorite beverage weekly (the previous owner, Jay, would give him a special price for the case since it ordinarily sells as an individual bottle) when Jay sold the store we knew our experience was not going to be the same with Jay and his family gone, my husband continued to go in on a weekly basis for his case until today when the employees told him they were no longer going to honor the price the previous owner was giving him and liked it or not he had to pay more, so today marked the end of a very long relationship with Solano Market. Our complaint is how you talk to people and how you treat them, be civilized and respectful, we went from being treated like family to being treated like shit, not good to lose long-term customers because you lack manners... read more

Moved to a neighborhood nearby and this is my go to whenever I need something quick for dinner. They have a great selection of all items, even ethnic stuff. I actually go here a lot for fresh produce because it's decently priced. I've even picked up some seasoned meats for grilling. The cashiers are super helpful and I like the family-owned aspect. The other day they had a customer appreciation thing going on where they gave out free sandwiches. Can't beat that! I made the mistake of entering this market today unaware of the new COVID-19 guidelines for Contra Costa County requiring the use of a face-covering in stores such as this. I live in Plumas county and I was not aware that this rule had gone into effect today. After picking out a few Items I stood in line where I received a very rude and unprofessional enlightening to this fact and was asked to leave the store by the Owner. I returned to the store with a mask I had in my car. Upon my return, I see that the individual who was in line behind me, simply pulled his shirt over his face a was being helped. I fully understand this virus has first and foremost resulted in a number of untimely deaths along with the resulting fallout of everything associated with it. But I would hope that owners of establishments such as this can remember to maintain at least a small amount of professionalism when carrying out these guidelines and interacting with the customers that keep them in business. I do however have to prise the Woman at the register who apologized for her husband and explained in detail about the new rules. read more

This little joint has anything you need, including a good choice of produce and meats. It's a bit pricey, but that's to be expected from a mom-n-pop shop. The reason I gave it three stars...they consistently will overcharge me by .50 cents or a dollar for an item and argue with me when I question them. The first couple of times, I thought it was an oversight on their part, but it now feels like it's intentional. Each time I show them the correct price, the usual friendly face turns to scorn. This has happened a number of times to some of my family members and a few friends. I still go to this handy place but I absolutely keep an eye on what I'm being charged. read more

I passed by this mini market for many years thinking that it was a liquor store. I went in there a few days ago for the first time and was shocked. They carry absolutely everything from produce, meat, deli, to hot made foods at a reasonable price. Their produce and meat section is well priced, very clean, and organized.
