Stopped in at this cool bar before dinner. I guess this is the oldest bar in St Augustine, according to the bartender 80 years in operation. Really enjoyed the service we received sitting at the bar. Good live music. Will definitely be back on our next trip to St Augustine. read more

This place has the potential to be a great place, however, if you want to go somewhere where you feel completely unwelcome by the staff - this is your place. The bouncer has a huge chip on his shoulder and he is downright disrespectful to people - seemingly for no reason. We hadn't even had a drink yet when we arrived and are always polite and respectful to those in the service industry, as we both deal with the public in our careers, so we know how frustrating they can be. This is our 3rd time in the St Augustine in the past 6 months and we have dealt with the same bouncer each time. The staff inside will shove their elbow in your back if you are in their way. Overall, we were actually surprised at how they were the opposite of hospitality. Needless to say, when we come back next month we will be spending our money and time elsewhere. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE!!! This place is a redneck dive that should in the middle of Oklahoma, not in cultured St. Augustine. The short, stubby, waitress with braided, multi-colored hair has been rude and harassing to me on several occasions. All these snarky, threatening comments in the noisy place, then she darts off. She keeps her rotten mouth shut when I bring a gf. Interesting. I usually order two drinks and tip this classless creature as well, plus tipping the band Blistur. Apparently that's not enough, as she continues to harass me to buy more drinks. On a prior solo visit (no gf), the bouncer kept walking over to eyeball me, and with suspicion. I was thinking 'What's wrong with this MF'er?' What civilized bar/restaurant has employees that quite literally harass the patrons? F-ing incredible!!! And all I do is mind my own business and enjoy the music. Recently, the low-IQ wandering bar girl actually got the goon bouncer to evict me from the place. And I wasn't bothering anyone! Just sitting quietly, waiting the band to start playing again. Had my two drinks earlier. I can't continuously drink. That would make me sick and cause a DUI. Two drinks isn't enough, Trade Winds? You guys are thugs! Your liquor license should be revoked. Let people drink when they want, and don't F with them beyond that. If you want repeat business, treat people with respect and courtesy! People, like myself, can easily spend money elsewhere, at places where the employees don't act like A-holes to customers. Trade Winds may lack the intelligence to realize this, but St. Augustine is full of bars and live music. They operate as if they're some lonesome dive bar on a rural highway in Redneckville, the only game in town, giving them the freedom to intimidate and shake down customers. They're not, so avoid this low, mean joint. Many reviews on Trip Advisor echo what I am saying. read more

Trade Winds Lounge, and down to earth bar with louder music and smoking, is not normally the type of place I'd wander into, but when my husband and I were wandering around St. Augustine looking for an affordable place to grab dinner and drinks we noticed that this bar had live music starting at 9pm with affordable drink specials. The bar doesn't have food, so we started here and listened to the band, enjoyed margaritas and rum punch, and marveled at the variety of individuals that were hanging out. I was most surprised that there was actually dancing! This will be a place we will come to for music and drinks at least once each visit to St. Augustine in the future!! read more

In my last 3 years of coming to St. Augustine and going to Trade Winds with my friends, I've never been so deterred from an establishment in my life. We arrived around 12:30 to have a few drinks with a group of 9. There were only 6 people there all sitting at the bar while the band played. 4 of us got there first and went to the bar where the bartender told us we could not open more than one tab and took our IDs for 5 minutes. Our other group (with two sober drivers) showed up and were told they could not stay longer than 2 songs if they did not drink and had to leave. Then the woman with knee high socks and the bartender took our IDs again and walked past us screaming FUCKING MOVE. We finally got our drinks to which our one tab was not tipped on as they cursed us out twice already. The lady with the socks I guess got over it and started to tell our group about how she loves Virginia while none of us spoke. They then kicked us out for not tipping, we were only in there for 10 minutes total. It's no wonder it was empty in there, those two ladies most definitely deterred any paying customer right out the door. read more

Came here for my 30th birthday 10/31 earlier in the day around 530p had the best service and best bartenders! The band even sang happy birthday to me!! (: I came back with 18 people to come party at 12:18am 11-01-2020, have fun, see the band, and the bartender again!! The bouncer told us I'm in a bad mood! Then he proceeded to say "y'all can't come in" then he said "wait I NEED YOU IN A STRAIGHT LINE!!" Walks away comes back and says "how many again? Okay actually it's $5 a head" LOL!!!!!! 1. I work at a bar, you're not pocketing my money 2. Don't lie to your customers 3. I hope the owner knows how much money he just lost.. which was absolutely over $500. St.Patty's Day 2022! The night was going great until we ended up here. My family is local to St.Augustine and has been to this bar a lot. Mostly everyone hates it, but we decided to give it another try. My boyfriend was with me and recently had his leg injured in an Army training exercise. The bouncer stated "if my owner sees this then he'll be kicked out". We were confused and asked him ti clarify. He stated that due to my boyfriends limp, he seems intoxicated. We went up to the bar and the older blonde bartender said she was not going to serve him after 1 drink. Never going back! Service is horrible. Everyone working there is rude. read more

This local watering hole is definitely not for everyone. If you are looking for a classy place to have a cocktail, it won't be your cup of tea, but if you like southern rock n roll and, cheap brews, shots and a fun atmosphere, you'll love it. The bartenders will not leave you with an empty glass. Every time I've been there, I've met friendly locals. Many of them have been coming there for many years. Don't ever consider going to this establishment. I would welcome a response to explain the interaction that I had here today. Let me first start off by saying..I forgot that sundays you pay nothing, so I pegged myself as a tourist. I walked in and said and I quote "I don't mean to bother you ma'am but do you by chance do cash back need change for the meter." To which she promptly responded "THAT'S FOR CUSTOMERS ONLY THE ATM'S NEXT DOOR." So I walked out the door and walked in the direction she indicated but walked back just to clarify and ask "Could you please just tell me what you mean by next door. To which she responded in the same "pleasant" tone of voice, THE BANK'S NEXT DOOR, GO THERE. I then responded by saying "You know, I don't think it's necessary for you to give me attitude for me to ask a simple question." Which she then responded by saying "I DIDN'T GIVE YOU ANY ATTITUDE, (and in an even more forceful voice) THE ATM IS OVER THERE" To which I then justifiably said "For fuck's sake" and just walked off. Don't go here unless you want to be disappointed. I've 1. never been so confused by a random interaction in my life. and 2. NEVER EVER been so moved as to post online just how absolutely offended i was. I REPEAT....DO NOT EVER VISIT THIS PLACE. If you do, you absolutely deserve the treatment you receive.
