Horrible customer service. Can't ask a simple question without employees acting as if it bothers them to speak to you.

Walked into PetSmart expecting basic help for a child who had just gotten a turtle. What we got…read moreinstead was a clear display of indifference, laziness, and zero accountability. We approached an employee (dark hair, very pale complexion) for assistance, and she outright refused to help. Not "I'm busy," not "let me get someone else"--just attitude and dismissal. In a store built around animal care, that level of apathy is unacceptable. If employees can't be bothered to guide a child on how to care for a living animal, then what exactly is the standard here? The checkout experience was worse. The cashier was leaning against the wall, engaged in a casual conversation with another employee, completely disengaged from customers. No greeting, no eye contact, no professionalism--just the feeling that we were interrupting them by being there. This wasn't a one-off bad moment. This felt like a culture of low standards, where employees are comfortable doing the bare minimum because no one is holding them accountable. That reflects directly on management. What should have been a positive experience for a child turned into frustration and disappointment. If you're looking for knowledgeable staff, basic courtesy, or anyone who actually cares about animals or customers, avoid this location. I will not be returning.

The staff is always so friendly and the groomers are always willing to make some accommodations for my dog since he is very allergic and sensitive in his ears. I also get RX food for him here as well and never had an issue not being able to get it. 10/01 my favorite grooming and the prices are also very fair.

I'm really disappointed with my experience at the Pet Supplies Grooming Salon…read more I brought my dog, Chloe, in for her first grooming appointment on Saturday, January 3. As soon as I walked in, their computer system was down and the overall vibe wasn't welcoming. I tried to explain that this was Chloe's first appointment and that I had her rabies certificate, but I felt dismissed. A manager (or someone in charge) took me back to an office, and I had to re-show the rabies paperwork again. They also couldn't give me a clear timeframe for how long the grooming would take, yet Chloe was ready within about two hours--so the uncertainty felt unnecessary and unorganized. When I came back to pick Chloe up, I was told I had to pay before I could take her, which already made me uneasy. Then, during checkout, they triple-charged me for the grooming appointment. I caught it and pointed it out immediately, and they said they needed help because their barcode/computer system "wasn't the best." That's not something a customer should have to worry about. The worst part: after bringing Chloe home, I noticed she had a gash between her nose and another wound in her ear. No one mentioned any injury to me at pickup. The wounds were significant enough that I had to treat them right away to prevent infection. If an injury happens, owners deserve to be told--immediately and clearly. I also contacted Pet Supplies through their customer portal afterward and never heard back, which is why I'm posting this review now. Between the cold attitude, disorganization, billing error, and the fact that my dog left with untreated/unreported injuries, I won't be returning--and I would not recommend bringing your pets here.

Puppies have no warm bedding on the cement cold floor when I last saw them. No water to drink near by. Kitties are the same way, very dirty cages. Owners young daughter shouldn't handle the puppies infront of costumers. The puppy was teething and it nibbled on her ear and she hit the puppies face hard. Puppy cried. Huge turn off for me when there is animal cruelty. The owner (Ulises R.) doesn't know well of the fish he sells (makes me laugh because I am a fish owner). Filters are not running well. Guppies are too much over breed that they have deformities. Owners fish are always dying. The owner is also selling beauty products, what animal store sells human perfume? It looks unprofessional. It is a huge sign that this place is only in for the money and not the joy of selling fish and live animals. So this place no longer has my business. And I do not recommend either. PS Almost all of his good reviews are by all his real life friends and his girlfriend friends (did my research).

My first memories of West Ajo include a purple horse brush that I desperately wanted to purchase so I could groom my horse, Patches. I saved up my allowance for weeks in order to purchase this amazing purple brush. When I got up to the counter, Chuck rang the brush up and, the child that I was, I had not accounted for tax. Embarrassed, I said I didn't have enough -- and I remember Chuck laughing, saying how unfair taxes were, and he told me to take the brush home anyways. I was approximately seven at the time and I'm now 30 and still remember this. This is the kind of feed store this place is. Heart and compassion. Family run. Amazing. West Ajo is a family run business that sells all kinds of different livestock feed with a smile, warmth, and the character that you won't see at chain stores. They don't sell toys and clothes in their store but if you come in asking "What is the best feed for my horse" they're going to be able to help you out. I'd take great advice, knowledge about their products, and the kindness they have over a chain store any day. Their prices are competitive. They have a decent selection. And they'll always be there for you if you have questions, need something, or want to post something on their awesome bulletin board. They also support the community and have donated to 4-H events, to the annual Tucson Poultry Pigeon and Fancy Fowl Show in November, and to many other events. Without family run businesses like these, I would hate to think where we'd be. Definitely stop by and say hello to Vinny and the crew at West Ajo Feed and Supply!
