Camp Bow Wow - Harry Potter day at camp

Love the enrichment options and different theme days Daycare package options Reasonably priced bath/grooming options Air conditioning** Main reason in choosing them is the other daycares set a 'nap time' and had my boy crated. He's free range! He would cry when I'd take him to the others and run out as soon as I picked him up.

Please reconsider before bringing your pet here…read more Since the change in management, the quality and standards of care have noticeably declined. In the past, pets could freely enjoy time outside to socialize and play with others while waiting for grooming or pickup--no special request was needed. Now, however, it seems you must explicitly ask for your pet to be let outside, or they're kept in crates for extended periods, sometimes from 9:30 AM until almost 5:00 PM. For pets with high anxiety, like our doodle who struggles with being confined to small spaces, this is distressing and far from the previous standard of care. Additionally, we encountered communication issues. When we hadn't received a call about our dog's pickup and the day was nearing close, we tried calling for an update but received no answer. We also noticed that grooming quality has diminished, with grooming services seeming rushed and lacking attention to detail. The cut our pet received was much shorter than requested and poorly executed. These new policies, combined with increased prices and limited staffing, have led us to seek alternative care options. We urge other pet owners to carefully consider their options as well.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience has been incredibly frustrating…read more The care our dogs received was good, and we appreciated being able to check on them through the cameras. Unfortunately, the customer service and handling of their promotions were a completely different story. We brought our two dogs in for their required Interview Day because we planned to board them. In our welcome packet was a First Day Boarding Special flyer advertising 2 nights of boarding, 1 exit bath, and 1 individual enrichment for $85. The only requirements listed are that it's for new campers, the dogs meet eligibility requirements, and the package must be purchased on Interview Day. That's exactly what we did. When we checked out after Interview Day, we specifically told the employee at the front desk that we wanted to purchase the boarding special and reserve our dogs' stay. He acknowledged the flyer, said he'd take care of it, and booked our reservation. At no point did he tell us another package was required first. We also asked to see another flyer behind the counter, and instead of simply handing it to us, he replied, "Did they not give you a welcome packet?" It honestly felt like we were inconveniencing him just by asking questions. When we picked our dogs up after their stay, the manager realized the boarding package had never been added. He apologized and added what we thought were the two $85 boarding packages. Since we have two dogs, the total made sense at the time. Once we got home and reviewed our account, we realized we had actually been sold one daycare package, not two boarding packages. The account showed one daycare package that included 3 daycare days, one enrichment, and one bath. The next day we returned to ask what happened. That's when we were told that you must first purchase a daycare package before you're allowed to buy the $85 boarding special. The problem is nowhere on the flyer does it say that. I pulled out the exact flyer they gave us and asked them to show me where that requirement was written. They couldn't because it isn't there. Even their explanation doesn't make sense. We have two dogs. If that daycare package was supposedly required before purchasing the boarding special, why were we only sold ONE daycare package? By their own logic, shouldn't we have been sold two? The way the packages were sold doesn't even match the explanation they later gave us. We were told their financial person would contact us. A week passed. No call. We called them ourselves. The manager admitted he didn't understand why we had been charged the way we were and again said he'd look into it and call us back. We're still waiting. This isn't just about the money. It's about misleading and false advertising, inconsistent explanations, employees who don't seem to understand the promotions they're selling, and a complete lack of follow through when mistakes are made. If purchasing another package is truly required before buying the $85 boarding special, that requirement needs to be clearly printed on the flyer. Customers shouldn't find out after they've already been charged. Our dogs were well cared for, and I appreciate that. But the customer service, communication, and handling of this situation have been incredibly disappointing. At this point, we feel misled, overcharged, and left to chase answers ourselves. I hope Camp Bow Wow Humble either honors the promotion as advertised or updates its promotional materials so future customers don't have the same experience.

Let me explain When we first dropped off, we were told the cameras we always used to watched our dogs while at daycare were broken and no indication to be fixed. Today, I went to pick them up, the glass door was broken and learned that someone had broken into the building last night and nobody stays overnight with the dogs. Didn't get a report of their stay either. Definitely won't be back.

While our dog "Marley" was at the groomer getting simple nail trim and bath, we received a phone call from Urban Tails stating that there was an "accident". We rushed to the groomer to find out the worst news. Our beloved Marley was dead. The groomer stated she brought Marley to the back room and place Marley in a bath tub and placed her on a choke collar. After the groomer was done giving Marley a bath, the groomer stated: "...Marley jumped out of the tub and broke her neck... it all happened so quickly, it was an accident.." At first, I was sympathetic to the situation, but as i demanded to see the video footage, I was denied viewing any video footage because the owner of Urban Tails stated: ".. it's too graphic to watch.." We left Urban Tails with our sweet Marley's body wrapped in a cold wet towel. Our lawyer also requested to view the video footage. This is when we found out the TRUTH. After the groomer finished rinsing Marley, the groomer proceeded to leave the room leaving Marley soaking wet, attached to the choke holder and alone in the tub. Approx 1 min later, Marley began to look around. Then she jumped out of the tub with the choke collar still attached. Marley then began to struggle for her life, gasping for air and trying to reach for anything to help her breath. She could not touch the ground. She struggled for 8 WHOLE MINUTES according to the video footage. Her body went limb at 9 minutes. Marley was found hanging by the choke collar outside of the tub by a different groomer at 11 minutes. 11 minutes have passed since the original groomer left the room. Her body was unresponsive and Marley was dead. The original story given to us by the groomer was a complete lie. This was NO accident!! This was complete and utter NEGLIGENCE!! Marley did not die instantly as the groomer stated. Our poor Marley struggled for her life and suffered a senseless death. We feel tremendous guilt for trusting our family member with Urban Tails. We should have never brought her there. If you love your pet as much as we do, please please please DO NOT bring your pet to Urban Tails. Nothing on earth will bring beloved Marley back to us. But we hope to inform others to learn from our tragedy. The groomer should have never left her unattended and the use of choke collars should only be used by properly trained groomers or omitted from grooming / bathing techniques completely. The heartache of losing a loved one in such a sudden tragic manner is overwhelmingly difficult. Please DO NOT bring your pet to Urban Tails!! In solidarity - Marley's parents

Their app makes it super easy to schedule, update docs, and watch your pup while it is there. I love being able to see my dog having a good time with his friends on the camp cams. It definitely helps me have less guilt leaving him for a few days. The team members are friendly and seem to really love dogs. The last time I boarded my dog, I also got a bath for him before pick up. I was pleasantly surprised at how good he looked. He is a poodle, and I normally only use our groomer for baths and grooming. However, he came out looking like he had just been groomed. His hair looked fabulous! Pricing is fair, and you can get some great deals with their sales. I recommend giving Camp Bow Wow in Bellaire a chance at daycare, boarding, and baths.

The pricing in both the app and on a huge billboard in the lobby was wrong. Despite their error, Camp Bow Wow management was completely unhelpful when asked to fix this, and even sent several emails attempting to revert blame onto me. They do do a great job that taken care of the dogs, but you can expect your rates at check out to be much higher than you would calculate by using their given pricing information.
