I called them to find out if they perhaps broke my chain accidentally during the repair process and replaced it with another, longer; sterling silver chain and they denied it saying that it was the same necklace I brought in. I know what I own. I bought that necklace specifically due to its 16" length and they had the nerve to try to argue with me, and they were very condescending as well. Regardless of whatever miscommunication they have going on there amongst their staff, the bottom line is; I paid for a service and I was not happy with it. Instead of trying to make it right, they told me I could come back in and PAY to have it shortened, after I already paid for the repair. Very unrepeatable establishment.

We needed a little flap of leather added to my son's baseball glove, and after researching online baseball forums, everyone said that any reputable shoe/leather repair place would be able to do it. My husband sent off a message to Contino's along with photos of what we needed, but we never received a response. We took a chance and drove to the shop with the glove and photographs. We were greeted by a pleasant woman and we explained what we wanted. Without even standing up or looking at the glove, the man beside her said, "Oh yeah....I don't deal with those." I looked surprised and he continued with, "I'd have to deconstruct the entire glove and it's too much work." And that was it. I understand that he didn't want to take on the job, but I found his response to be very short and cold, considering that our family made a special trip there because of the lack of response to our initial inquiry. We've always heard great things about Contino's but won't be taking our business there in the future. :(

I told them about my…read morecollection and the owner (Randy) told me he would come out to me farm to make an offer on my collection. We worked for hours prior to his arrival to set up so he would be able to look everything over easily and make me an offer. Long story short he basically wanted me to just give it to him for the cost of his gas to get there. This was a high end collection that has been in my family for generations. He wasted my whole weekend eca he didnt show up Saturday so I left it out fire Sunday and he spent all of 5 minutes looking over what took us 5 hours to set up and his offer was lowere than a full tank of gas. He is only out there to rip you off so don't waste your time with this clown. I'd really like to use another word but I have more respect for yelp than I do that guy so I won't speak my true mind. But I think I made my point. Your better off at your local pawn shop. They would pay much more money than this guy would. They only wanted to spend pocket change so they could get rich at my expense.
