I never thought I'd buy a Weber grill, as I didn't understand why they seemed so expensive. After an Ace salesman showed me some differences and how they stocked all of the parts I may need down the road, I purchased one. That was a bit over a year ago, and I haven't had even the slightest "buyers remorse". Sure, it was a lot more than one of the other brands at a big box store, but wow does it do a great job. The heat is so even, and all of the controls just feel sturdy. On top of that most of the internals are made from stainless steel and should last a LONG time. Ace is a great asset to western Noblesville. As this town has grown, we've gotten all of the big box stores, but with those comes traffic and customer service that is mediocre at best. It's definitely nice to have a locally owned store where I can go pick up the things I need without having to drive across town.

I might toss in secondhand store also since there is a bunch of stuff here that (presumably) no one will ever want to buy and should probably just be pitched. The paint at the front of the house looks like it has been there since 1982, there are random dishes, overpriced paintings, etc. I did notice about 60 rubber ends for canes on a shelf. Really just a random assortment of aging stuff. From strictly a hardware perspective I would be hard pressed to say I would return. I want to support local business but not for the sake of buying old junk at 2015 prices. Some of the price tags were commensurate with 2015 but the merchandise is straight 80s and 90s. There might be a couple of values here but not the type of place I will look for them. So 2 stars for the selection and a plus 1 for the trip back in time.

Need brand new Corelle dishes with the 1985 pattern? They got it. Never opened. Need a replacement carafe for a 1979 Mr. Coffee? They got it. Need a 1987 Mirro 10inch frying pan? Yep. Russell was very helpful. I was looking at gardening boots, but they didn't have my size. Russell called their other store and was able to offer some options. He was engaging and friendly. The store offers an array of grills, power tools, paints and general hardware supplies. The shelves are remarkably well organized and neat. Many shelves were empty as I assume they are preparing for spring inventory. Many items were on clearance including Yetis so there are some great deals. In the entry alcove is a fascinating history of the hardware store's evolution. The history dates back to at least 1889 when the store was located at 110 West Main Street in Carmel. The store has been owned by four families start with O. W. Nutt prior to 1889. Steve White bought the store in 1984 and built the current location on Rangeline Road in 1989. I love that someone took the time to capture the history. There's plenty of parking in their private lot. You can only enter or exit going north in Rangeline, but the roundabouts make going in the right direction easy.

I will pay a bit more here than at other home improvement stores for this type of service and dependability. Their installers are also professional, on time with their appointments, and provide quality work. I've never had an issue. You just have to be a bit patient as their installers could be backed up with appointments before they can fit you in. But I don't go in expecting a fast turnaround from order to install, so it doesn't bother me.

I did so, and was led from the front door, straight-through to the back of the store, and then to the furthest corner of the store from where I had entered. Surely, I had passed all of the items ordered during this trek. The store is massive, and if you are not familiar with the layout, online ordering would seem like a good, time-saving option, but that turned out to not be the case. Not to mention (as I mention), the "convenience fee" that I was charged to do so. This might be a good option for larger orders, but for the 3 item order that I placed, I would not suggest this.

The installer arrived but was unable to communicate in English, which made it very difficult to discuss the installation, ask questions, or address concerns. Communication is critical when someone is working inside your home, especially when installing an appliance that requires proper mounting and electrical safety. Even more troubling, the installation itself was poorly done and did not reflect the level of professionalism I expected from a contractor representing Home Depot. Allowing someone into your home requires trust, and this experience left me feeling uncomfortable and dissatisfied. When customers pay for professional installation through a major retailer like Home Depot, they expect qualified installers, clear communication, and quality workmanship.

They also had the more expensive saws. I have also found this store to have the most options for cedar lumber. The people at the service desk have always been very helpful. They have a nice selection of Xmas items. The only thing I struggle with there sometimes, is finding what I'm looking. It likely is I visit a closer competitor more frequently, so I'm just as not familiar with the layout of Menards. There also seem to be fewer employees in the aisles that you can ask for help. But when I find them, they have been excellent. Good products good price.

But really, how could you not? The name of this place is Menards! Anyway, I visited this Menards, thinking, "Me nards! Me nards!" over and over in my head as I went in search of some indoor plants. But what do you know: They must not have indoor plants in late fall, because I could find nary a one. They didn't even have any outdoor plants. Apparently, Menards is not the place to find plants of any kind when the weather turns cold. So I walked around to see if maybe they were hiding the plants somewhere else, and I came across aisles of pet products, Christmas trees, patio furniture, paint, and lots of other things. Menards seems to be a one-stop-shop for home improvement. Parking is plentiful, and it's easy to get on and off the interstate.
