Our 7-year-old German Shepherd has been attending Uptown Pup since she was 4 months old. We took…read moreher to several of Uptown's training sessions when she was younger, and she stays there for boarding when we go out of town, in addition to consistent weekly day care. She has regular bath/grooming sessions there as well. As such, we have had the opportunity to get to know most of the Uptown Team throughout the years, from the day care staff to management to trainers, and they have been nothing but caring, supportive, knowledgable and accommodating. She is always clearly happy and excited to see them, no matter which staff member it is, when we drop her off. When our dog was younger we tried out a few other day care businesses to see what was out there, and Uptown Pup was the only place where we felt our dog was cared for and received an individual focus; each Uptown staffer truly cares about the dogs' well-being and wants each one to flourish. Our dog has anxiety issues, particularly with loud noises such as thunderstorms and fireworks, and Uptown has consistently gone above and beyond to help her with this, including taking her aside from her group to relax and hang out during day care. During her boarding stays the staff has also paid extra attention to make sure she was comfortable. She also has a food allergy and a sensitive stomach, and the staff always remains cognizant of this and makes sure she avoids certain types of treats/foods when she's there. These are just a few examples of the care that Uptown takes for clients. For anyone deciding whether to entrust Uptown Pup with their day care, boarding, training or grooming needs, this probably sums it up best: we wouldn't just recommend Uptown Pup - we wouldn't take our dog anywhere else BUT Uptown Pup.

I took my pup in for his first day. Upon entering and saying it was his first day they didn't really ask any questions just had me fill out a form (that I had already filled out online) and asked what time I would pick him up. The other daycare we've tried did an evaluation day and gave some more strict guidelines (drop off at 9 to ensure full staff is there, only took one new puppy a day to encourage socialization, started as 4hrs but would extend to full day depending on how they got along...) I had previously spoken to someone very kind and personable on the phone. This person was obviously not working the front desk when I came in. I dropped him off around 8am and around 11:15am got a call that he wasn't "interested in group play and kept showing stress signs". I found this extremely odd because my puppy is always a big fan of playing. With dogs of ALL sizes. He has gone to another doggy daycare and at the end of a full day he comes out so excited and then sleeps for hours because of how much he plays. I take him to a small group puppy training and he plays with all the other puppies the whole time. When I picked him up they spoke about how he just wanted to play with the trainer and cried when he left the area. I'm not dog training expert but I know that there are ways to help prevent this and manage it rather than just dismissing a 6 month old puppy that is still learning.I then believe instead of leaving him in with the other puppies to continue working on the socialization they just put him in a crate until I was able to pick him up. The vibe within the front desk area when I picked him up just didn't sit right with me. I look forward to taking him back to a daycare that I know he enjoys. So as a last-ditch effort, we reached out to Dogtopia in Fishers. They had space for us! They were a lifesaver. One interesting thing that Dogtopia does before they board a dog they've never boarded before is do a little doggie meet-and-greet. Your dog just meets some staff and checks out the facility. It takes about an hour, but my dog loved meeting new people and smelling all of the things. It was slightly inconvenient for me (why can't you just take my dog and take my money?!), but I understand the reasoning behind it. My dog loves people but doesn't like being boarded, but the people at Dogtopia gave him a lot of attention and love, which he loves and made him comfortable. He came back home super chill and not at all stressed, which was a great thing to see. He obviously liked his stay!

We had the opportunity to hunt pheasants at a game form and had a great day with the dog. The area we were hunting was like a swamp and full of briars and brambles. By the end of the day the dog was just a mess and I really had no way of getting her cleaned up to go back to my nephew's house. On the drive home I started calling dog groomers knowing it was probably impossible to find somebody to help us with little or no advanced notice. I contacted Dogtopia and they told me they could squeeze us in if we could get a copy of the dog's rabies vaccine certificate. I called my vet. The vet emailed me the rabies certificate. 45 minutes later I dropped the dog off and in an hour she looked amazing. This is the kind of customer service that goes way above and beyond what is ordinarily expected. The staff was helpful and friendly and they clearly loved dogs. Dogtopia earned a five star review. The place is extremely clean and organized the other one star review on here is completely unfounded.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!…read more I have a German shepherd/husky mix 8 YO and has never been in for a professional bath/ grooming. She's done nail trims but that's about it. Since 8 weeks old I've done in home bathing or outside hose bathing. Due to holiday traveling and it being winter she got stinky and was due for a spa day. I decided to come in and ask some general questions since my dog can be... particular. Doesn't do well with other dogs (around me anyways), coin toss on teeth, and isn't used to a high power blow dryer. Jeff was at the front and provided me with so much comfort and patience. There's a strict no "nose to nose" contact between dogs. Groomers do not force a cleaning. There are more than one way to dry (towel, blow dryer, or a crate type situation- takes much longer but isn't as "intense" which circulates the air around your pup to dry them). Knowing I was a walk in, I didn't expect a day of apt. He said there was one in 10 minutes but couldn't do deshedding. After further thought, I'd love deshedding but my primary need was bathe and nail trimming so he squeezed me in. Dropped off around 11:20. She was ready by 12:16 I was comfortable and satisfied enough that I took my pup there and left more anxious than she was! She was hesitant but went back immediately once I left. I was counting down the time (they provided an estimate and will text you once done). At pickup she came out as happy as a clam. Still slightly damp but now that she's dry, wow! What a difference. Very satisfied and plan to come back. They can do a la carte services along with a monthly membership - 3 different tiers. The app they have also provides you with the groomers notes and a score card of varying health items which I loved. Highly satisfied with the service, information, patience, and overall experience.

THEY SHAVED MY POMERANIAN TO THE SKIN AND IT WON'T GROW BACK!!…read more I had previously taken my Pomeranian to the Brownsburg location for grooming and never had any issues. They meticulously kept notes on the length of all haircuts. I had to book a grooming session at their Danville location because Brownsburg was booked. They pulled up all of his grooming notes from previous haircuts at Brownsburg and we had agreed that there was no matting and to do a trim that wouldn't be shorter than a few inches. After 4 hours, I received a call from the groomers in Danville saying they were still working on him. They mentioned that there was a little bit of matting on his belly so they'd have to cut that area a little shorter. Other than that, they said his haircut was coming along good. Upon arrival, the groomers brought out my dog that had been COMPLETELY SHAVED DOWN TO THE SKIN across his ENTIRE body. They handed him over smiling saying how good he looked. I was in such shock and did everything not to cry. They offered to bring out the groomer, but I was already running late to catch my flight so I declined. I later sent them a message expressing my disgust with their service. Never received any response from them and have yet to hear back from them. ANYONE who is a basic groomer knows that there are certain breeds whose hair you NEVER shave. This includes Pomeranians. In the past, his hair has gotten pretty matted after swimming in the pool all summer. I've ALWAYS had groomers call me explaining why they wanted to shave down his hair and ALWAYS had to sign an agreement giving them consent to do so. Even at his worst matting phase, they NEVER EVER thought it was ok to shave his hair down straight to the skin. This haircut was back in July. It has now been 5 months and there are major patches on my dog where the hair has not grown back at all. His entire coat is permanently damaged and will never grow back the same. We have tried coconut oil, medication, cbd, etc. Nothing seems to grow it back. To top it off, when he was shaved down to his skin, it was in the middle of July so he suffered from very bad sunburns as his skin was fully exposed for months. Friends and family have recommended I take legal action since his coat has been destroyed and they have refused to respond or make any effort to correct their poor decisions. I wanted to wait a few months to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe the shaving wouldn't be so damaging. But seeing that his coat is so damaged and still not growing back in massive chunks, I felt it was time to share how terrible of a job they did.

That's because the groomer didn't dry him completely, so the distinct wet-doggie funk permeated the car and our house for a time. Maybe an incomplete dry would have been OK for a dog with a short coat, but my dog has a thick double coat, and he's over 100 pounds, and the temperature outdoors was below freezing. We had to keep him inside until his fur dried. He didn't like that at all. The price was right, though. But maybe that's why: The grooming session was definitely shorter (45 minutes to an hour for our dog, when it usually takes more than two hours at other places). Maybe if you have a low-maintenance dog, then this might be a good place to visit to get groomed.

I took advantage of being a new customer and received a free day pass for doggy day care. In preparation for a upcoming travel, I dropped her off for the day, which included an assessment. Unfortunately Sora was not ready to be in general population and spent her day in a private room with scheduled independent playtime. The following week, I arranged daily boarding so Sora could be home every night. I called or texted daily to check on her. The staff was always quick to respond, providing detailed info to put me at ease. My husband would also provide me with nightly updates. The progress Sora had over the week, was amazing! She was able to build a heightened level of confidence that included daily excitement during her morning drop offs. I stopped by for a visit after my return, and I was happy to see she had made human friends that shows her a great deal of love. I 100% trust our Sora Belle to stay at PetSuites, where she will receive the expected level of care, treatment and love as if she was at home.
