We took our Scotty in for a "Spa Day" and got the works! She received the bath and haircut services. We told our groomer, Lauren that she had started itching due to something in the yard. and she suggested the soothe & repair. It stopped the itching!! She did a wonderful job on her haircut!! I like the eyebrows cut straight across and she did it exactly like I wanted. Very happy we had Lauren do the grooming. read more

Cashier made snarky comments throughout checkout interaction and was incredibly non-personable and rude. If you need Purina Pro Plan dog good, good luck finding any real quantities in stock at any pet store in Indianapolis and surrounding areas. I do like that Petco's store inventory is pretty much accurate to save time calling/visiting store to store in search of dog food. Like most businesses, they have been short staffed and you may find a location suddenly closed during normal operating hours. I recommend calling before heading to the store or placing a delivery order via Instacart. My only complaint is that sometime they offer discounts for ordering online and picking up in store or having your order delivered. I may need to find something specific that could be in stock but store inventory could be incorrect and your order is unable to be placed. read more

Came in to get some fish today. After spending 20+ minutes hovering over the fish area and letting our daughter pick out a few, we asked for help from a young lady. Her first question was if we already had a fish tank or if we were new. We said we already had an established tank we just wanted to add 2. She quickly asked how many fish we already had and the size of our tank. To which we replied 6 in a 15 gallon tank. She quickly snapped back and said she wouldn't sell us any fish it's against Petco policy. She explained the policy was 1" of fish per 15 gallons. We hadn't even mentioned the size of our fish at all, but they are all about 1" in size. So, according to my math we have 6" of fish in our fish tank allowing us to have 9" more of fish to meet her stated standards. I explained she didn't even ask the size of our fish she just continued to explain it was against their policy. Just say you don't want to help us next time? We had to explain to our crying toddler that they wouldn't sell us any fish, and just went elsewhere. Extremely rude and frankly lazy. read more

We have been shopping this PetCo since they've been open. At the time we would split what we got between here and Petsmart since Petsmart was open first. We have switched exclusively to PetCo over the years. I found Petsmart to be dirty and generally just have poor service. This PetCo is typically clean with a few exceptions I've encountered in the fish area. You can usually find an employee if you need help. There have only been a few times they could have used more help up front. Theses days we only have dogs. No longer have fishtanks or a cat so shopping is quicker. I wish they would do more discounts on Hills Science Diet. At over 60$ a bag it's getting really expensive. I've had a PetCo card for years never did the App till today. The App offers some discounts but I need to look at it more to see how it will best serve my needs. read more

I bought a $20 dog muzzle on 1/25/22. Realized my dog would not be willing to accept the muzzle so returned it. Except today 2/28/22 is past 30 days and they said their website says they have a 30 day return policy. But it is no mention of a return policy on the receipt. Will find another store my all my future needs, likely Chewy. A good example of some "corporate policy" that alienates customers. read more

We have been using this location's pet grooming service since we got our puppy for over a year. Two weeks ago we dropped our pup as normal for his every 6 weeks haircut. Soon after we left store, we got a call to pick our puppy and said this would be our last visit. We got there they told us our pup was hyper, tried to nib people and said to take him to a trainer or Vet so he can be muzzled or medicated. The puppy is a mini Bernedoodle and is a very sweet dog but can be a little hyper at time because he is still a puppy. We asked why all the sudden since we have been going for over a year and never heard any issue. It turned out the staff who worked on him was his first time worked on our puppy and an inexperienced staff. The whole time, the staff we interacted with was no smile, seems not want to be there or talk to us. The store floor manager acted just as unprofessional. She indicated she wasn't even suppose to be there to talk to us because she was off the clock. It is extremely disappointing and frustrating they can treat a pet like that (half shaved)! This will be our last time there and will not recommend this place to anyone who consider their pets are part of the family. read more

Do not set up auto delivery with PetCo! I have never received a correct order in the last year of ordering dog and cat food! One time I got a 40# bag of dog food instead of a four pound bag of cat food! (I donated it!) then they a small bag of dried minnows as my replacement, which they let just setting on my driveway by my garage! Third time they finally got it ! They have sent diet food instead of regular. They have lied and said it was delivered (today) and corporate said it would be redelivered today... and then the driver called to say it wasn't there for pickup because it "was already delivered"! Now I've gotten a notice that it was cancelled! I called corporate again and now I have to go pick it up! Every month it's something! don't know why it took this long to finally realize this place is a joke! read more

Worst groomers in the business~! Mary claims she has 10 years as a groomer. We asked for clipping nails and total package. We picked her up and we got charged full service; No nails were clipped and this is an issue as your poor dogs nails grow out and can hurt them if not clipped. Her pads here full of hair and she did not do her potty patch- WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. I am not sure what Mary did for this full charge but I will never take her to ANY other PetCo ever again- just fleecing customers while the dog will suffer. read more

I visit this location only when I'm not willing to drive another five miles to PetSmart. They are overpriced and don't offer the same brand of items that I like to give my pup. It's an easy quick drive to my house, which is the only reason why I step foot in here. Oh and I love checking out the kittens. They are adorable!! It's just OK in my opinion. The staff is capable, but their options are limited and their prices are higher than PetSmart, so I don't usually shop here unless I have to or am in a hurry. read more

I used to divide my loyalties among both PetSmart and Petco, but that was before I realized Cesar Millan was so closely associated with Petco. I like this particular location because it's so nice and new - read: clean, stocked and well organized. I like to cook for my dogs when I'm able, but since I rarely am, I started looking for a substitute for my delicious home-cooked doggy dinners: the HALO brand of canned and dry foods. My poodles gobble this stuff up! Best of all, it doesn't have so-called "animal by-products" or grain "fillers" and the dry food smells just like Knorr vegetable soup mix. Of course, I also buy The Dog Whisperer brand of products, but Petco seems to be just getting started with those so there hasn't been much to choose from lately. However, my boy dog really likes the spearmint-flavored fortified water for dogs...I know, it seems crazy. But, when it comes to my "kids" I will do almost (and buy almost) anything! The staff has ALWAYS been pleasant and helpful. They make an effort to know their customers -my dog is greeted by name when we walk in the door. I really feel like the staff is knowledgeable on the products they sell which is not something you find in a retail establishment every day. I recommend this location to everyone I know with a pet! I have been bring Ollie to petco for 2 years and never had an experience like our last visit. they called and said our dog was done being groomed. we got there he was 1/2 done. the groomer said he was nipping at razor when doing front paws. said if he did it again would not be able to do him again. 1st of all we have never had a problem before. 2nd of all there were female dogs in heat and he was going crazy from that I think and groomers demeanor was off that day. 3rd we should have been notified if there was a problem. 4th we paid full price for 1/2 a groom witch I thought was odd. we have made an appointment with another groomer for his next appointment because we were not even asked for next times date they already had it set up and gave us a card. the whole experience was terrible. we filled out another survey but have not been called yet. I thought if we were not happy there would be no charge. what's up with that. that's not very professional and or poor business practice. read more

I was taking my dog here to be groomed and the only other experience I had, had was fantastic. However this most recent visit I felt used, abused, and smacked in the face. So... He is the story I scheduled for my pup to get groomed again and the night before they called and cancelled because their groomer was sick (completely understandable). So I rescheduled and asked for the first appt which was available. I had family in town so I loaded up my 5 kids at 7:30 in the morning to make my 8 am appt. I get there and I am told I don't have an appointment and that they could get her bathed but not until that evening. I feel that would be traumatic to leave my dog there all day. I declined their offer but asked for a manager. The manager proceeded to ask who I ha spoken to a week before hand and I apologized telling him I didn't know. He said that there was little he could do because I didn't know the name of the person and wait for it here comes the SMACK in the face... I could give you 5 dollars off your next grooming. Are you kidding me???? When I brought my dog here I got 10 dollars off for being a new pet... It is 7:55 in the morning... There are 5 dressed and peeped kids in my car and your going to offer me 5 dollars off.....???? Extremely disappointed in their management and I will not be back! read more

We've been going to this Petco for years. We have three cats and two large dogs and buy Blue Buffalo brand food for all of them. In the last few months, on several occasions we have had to wait in line for a cashier to come to the front of the store, once for almost ten minutes. The time we waited for almost ten minutes - there were only three customers in the store!!!! Another time the cashier was engaged in a personal conversation with another employee while we stood in line with other customers waiting to be checked out. Today the man who appears to be the manager, had time to play with the dogs coming into the store, follow the missing cashier around while she got into position behind the register, and glare at us while we were leaving the store, but never once engaged with us verbally or professionally, and never lifted a finger to assist a customer at checkout. In the last few months, not once has one employee, even the cashier checking us out, said the words THANK YOU. The employees behave as if they are doing you a favor by coming to the register to allow you to pay for your products, and the manager, I don't even have words to describe his behavior. Well I have news for them - today was our last day putting up with this crap. We will be buying our Blue Buffalo dog and cat food at Pet Smart from now. Pet Smart is just as close to our house as Petco and the employees are much nicer. I have never been through a Pet Smart checkout line without the cashier saying thank you. read more
