I have dealt with this store for years buying propane monthly. They usually have decent prices, of late they seem to be competing with the love's truck stop on 72 because their prices are high when compared to the propane supply companies. So I have started making the early morning trip to my more local company. They too offer propane by the gallon and not the set fill prices that you experience with the corporate companies in Tuscumbia, Muscle Shoals, and Russellville. Despite that I still have occasion to need propane at an odd hour or weekends, so Tractor Supply would be my stop. That ends today I would rather take my small (grill) tank to Walmart and pay the $20 trade to make it through the weekend and get shorted a gallon than deal with this stores inept personnel.
As to other comments about qualified staff only being available for certain hours, I too have experienced that. I have driven 20 miles to find the person "just" left after being promised someone would be there until closing. I also spoke with their manger who told me all their personnel were certified to run the propane equipment.
They used to have friendly staff, now they usually (not all staff or times) make you feel like you showed up drunk on their doorstep at 2 a.m., Or as an inconvenience at the very least. That's when and if you can find someone to help you. read more
