Dr. English didn't try to get me to order unneeded tests and blood work. I appreciate that. I hate it when doctors do that, in any field. He gave me honest straightforward advice. He also doesn't belittle you or lecture you. Thank you Doctor! They don't charge me an office visit just to get a rabies shot for my dogs. Ashwander started doing that, so I stopped going there. Also, Bryan's up front people are overall nicer than those at Ashwander where there is an older woman who is just plain mean. Bryan's has a good location that's easy to get in and out of. They also have easy parking and a wheelchair ramp to get in. They have a decent size waiting area and are pretty clean as well. I took my eldest cat in to have her ears looked at and her nails trimmed and he only charged me for a short office visit. That saved me some money,for sure. The old place I went to started charging a full price no matter why you came in. Even for a minute you got charged a full visit. Dr. English is a wonderful veterinarian. I have found my vet home. If only I could find a people doctor with his values and good sense, I'd be set. It is best to get an appointment, as they can be busy. They will take walk ins if need be, though. I've not ever seen Dr. Bryan, the name sake. He's the only one listed on their website. To me that's odd because I've always seen Dr. English. He's so kind and real. Dr. Greenbaum and his crew were amazing with our diva, even with her being a bit sassy. He and his techs explained the diagnosis to us, confirmed that it was indeed cancer, and offered us so much more information and how to continue with her treatment. The compassion and effort in just that couple of visits have convinced us to continue on with her care there, even though we are driving from North Huntsville to Decatur for her treatment. Thanks Dr. Greenbaum and staff for all that you do for every ones fur babies. Y'all are well worth making that drive when we have to take our girls in. We appreciate you greatly!

Over the last week, we've had a terrible loss within our family. Two of our Dachshunds fought and…read moreone of them caused severe damage to the other. Long story short, we brought our Dachshund (Daisy) in and she was kept for exactly one week. Her initial prognosis was grim and, as a former vet tech, I would agree that most senior dogs wouldn't be able to recover well with that level of trauma with so many complicating factors. As the days passed, Daisy greatly improved and defied the odds that had been stacked against her. During her time at the hospital, I was given one of their exam rooms to spend as much time as I wanted with her. Seriously... I spent 8 hours in one day with this dog (Daisy is one of those special, once in a lifetime dogs for me). All seemed well and she looked like she was going to be able to come home the following week. I received a late night call, the one no one wants to get, and was told that Daisy had gone into cardiac arrest and they could not raise a heartbeat. At the time of the call, they were still working on her and I told them to stop. No one had any idea what it could have been and the veterinarian that Daisy had been assigned (Dr. Harriman) thinks it could have been a pulmonary embolism - unexpected and could not have been prevented. We had euthanized our other doxie the day before so the loss double loss was terrible. At the end of the ordeal, I am still very thankful to the extremely friendly staff and confident/qualified veterinarians. They were all wonderful and I witnessed, first hand, how they treat the animals in the back when their owners are not around...needless to say it made me extremely confident that I made the correct choice when placing Daisy into their care. I really cannot stress enough how wonderful every member of the staff was, how friendly and courteous they all were, and how everyone went above and beyond to make sure my dog was well taken care of and that our family was accommodated. I have absolutely no doubt that if I am ever in need of a specialist or ER services again, this will be the place that I go.

The Saturday before Thanksgiving I got home and found my dog had ate two potty pads. It was a…read morelittle after midnight. I called my vets emergency number and they told me they could refer me to emergency services in Decatur or Huntsville. I said Decatur because it was closer. I called them immediately, told them what was going on and asked if they could try to make her throw them yup. They said yes, so off we went. We got there close to 2 am. Everyone from the front end staff to the vet were great. Very caring, explained everything well, and gave me options along with estimated costs for each so I could make informed decisions. They got her to vomit, but not much came up and they could still see a lot of debris in her stomach. They suggested keeping her overnight and trying to flush everything through. They said if that did not work, surgery would be the next option. They called me Sunday morning and said the debris had not moved and felt surgery was needed so I gave the okay. Surgery went well and she is back to being my happy and healthy girl. I am very thankful they were there when my other vet was closed and saved my girl.

I dropped her off and was worried about her the entire time, but when I picked up my dog she was calmly waiting for me, happy, and acted very comfortable. She was cut beautifully and smelled great. Honestly such great experiences here…read more We attempted to adopt a dog before but she just wasn't a fit for our family and they made it a super simple process so she could be re-adopted (like same day basically too!) Also had animal control help us with our stray cat situation. They came within the hour to come and snag an emaciated kitty that we were able to capture for them. Very fun to just visit too and see all the dogs and cats available. I do wish they could do foster programs though!!!
