I called my normal vet and they didn't have availability, so they told me I could go here as a walk in. HORRIBLE. My dog is a senior, at 12 years old. I told the vet her symptoms and history and instead of doing a pancreatitis lab test he did a cray and claimed she was constipated and gave her an enema. She had been vomiting for 24 hours before coming in. After the enema she got even more violently ill and had bloody stools about every hour. I had to bring her to my vet a few days later to get antibiotics, anti diarrhea meds and probiotics. Then she was finally feeling better and the symptoms resolved. Do not take your pets here if you want them to love a long life. This vet is incompetent.

He's cared for seven of my animals and seven of my parents' pets. Absolutely zero problems. My parents started with them in 1983. That's a lot of years, 42 to be precise. Choosing Dr. Patton and Northway will be the best decision you could make for the care of your beloved pet. I'd take the other reviews with a grain of salt. One person describes several diagnoses (if that's what they were) that were incorrect, but provides no supporting documentation to back up all those visits and problems. Another person complains about rudeness from an administrative staff member, which is highly subjective, regarding how a dog's teeth might be cleaned. That does not speak to the entire place, anyway, and certainly not to the competence of the staff that treats the animals.

No greeting, no urgency, no nothing. I proceeded to ask for help and she laughed (probably because I was crying and desperately pleading for any assistance; as if I was bothering her) and then proceeded to tell me they couldn't help me. They claimed they do not handle emergencies even though on their website they state they do. There was a MAJOR lack of compassion and inability to even want to TRY and help. On their website they state : "Our knowledgeable staff and modern facilities are equipped to handle a wide variety of medical conditions, including emergencies." You obviously DO NOT have any of those things, and I would suggest removing that statement from your website. Not only is it not true, but it's incredibly harmful and dangerous to people who have animal emergencies and are pleading for help. If you are having an emergency, DO NOT GO HERE. These people do not care.

I love Village Vet. We've used them for our pups in the past and they were so compassionate and…read morehelpful as we navigated the realities of treating "old dog syndrome" with our sweet terrier mix, Bella and giving us an honest, informative prognosis. My husband surprised me with a 6 month old adopted kitten last Sunday!!! One of the first things I noticed about Lemmy (yes, he is named for the late great lead singer of Motorhead) was that he had an upper respiratory infection/cold. Enter Village Vet, which is so conveniently located ~ 10 minutes west of our home. What a Godsend to have a traffic-free, stress-free driving experience, especially with a new little kitten in tow. I also like and appreciate their love of community with the various pet food/supply drives they initiate. We arrived 10 minutes early and phoned the vet's office from the parking lot (per their protocol) and were welcomed immediately. The super sweet, cute vet tech did a great job with the intake and pre-exam, and I did not have to fill out any paperwork; however I did email the paperwork "A New Leash on Life" provided regarding Lemmy's medical history, vaccines, etc., to VVC the day prior to our appointment. Lemmy is at that playful stage which can include nipping/biting (yes, he got my right wrist - thankfully, not too badly) and he almost broke the skin of the sweet vet tech (!!!!) The vet tech prevailed and did not let it deter her in any way -- very nice! Within minutes Dr. Rhoda Stanley was discussing Lemmy's symptoms and reviewing his records and examining him, and within 30 minutes we were done, including clipping his "talons" (they were SO long!), and with antibiotics in hand we headed home with a follow up appointment in a week. Thanks Village Vet! We'll see you next Tuesday. Lemmy says "purrrrrrrrrrrrr!"

I've been using Decatur Animal Care for the past few years. I couldn't love them more! When I…read morestarted going there I had two large breed senior dogs, and on large breed adult dog. They were well cared for, and Dr. Griffith was great about suggesting supplements to help them as they got older. When one of my dogs had what appeared to be a stroke after hours, I took him to the emergency clinic and had to leave him overnight. It turned out to be a Vestibular issue, but the next morning on her way to her own clinic she stopped by the emergency clinic and checked on Sam and gave me an update. When my Golden Retriever developed nasal cancer, Dr. Griffith was great to give me all the available options with the pros and cons of each and help me make the best decision for my dog. My Great Pyrenees developed a degenerative disk issue in his back. Dr. Griffith referred us to an acupuncturist, she also checked with Auburn to see what might be available to help him. She looked for different medications that might provide pain relief. Dr. Griffith and her staff have ALWAYS gone above and beyond to take care of my dogs and me. I've since lost the three dogs I had when my visits to DAC began. All three times Dr. Griffith treated my dogs with incredible much love, respect, and kindness. She hugged me, cried with me, and loved on my dogs as they crossed over. I now have a 14-month-old Golden Retriever, he attends daycare at DAC during the week and it's been a true blessing to have the staff at DAC supporting him as he learns to be a 'good dog'. If you're looking for a vet that will love your pets, treat you and your pets with love and respect - this is where you need to be.
