When you've done a fair amount of shopping at the bigger box hardware places (we'll go with the names Orange and Blue) and you can't find what you want, I find that Tractor Supply usually sneaks in for the win. Recently we decided we wanted to put in a rain barrel for watering our veggies, flowers, and Crepe Myrtles. We checked several locations of Orange and Blue and, not to anyone's surprise, found that they didn't have any in stock. Ordering would have taken a couple weeks to get here. These days 2 weeks is a LONG time for delivery. We had cash on hand, so I drove out to Tractor Supply. Turns out they had 2 rain barrels in stock. While I was there I visited the wild bird seed aisle. Tractor Supply has a GREAT selection and variety of bird seed. I have about 10 feeders in our back yard so I go through A LOT of bird seed. (Well, *I* don't, the birds do. I just put it in the feeders.) I've never been let down by the bird seed they have in stock or the variety, and there's almost always a sale of some kind going on. The staff at this location is always fun and helpful. If you're looking for something they'll take you to it instead of nodding in a general direction, and there are a few that have a great sense of humor. No one wants to be helped by a robot. A little personality can go a long way in making a routine shopping visit into a great one. About 15 minutes later and I had my rain barrel and a few bags of bird seed and a pleasant conversation with the guy at the register (whose name I don't recall) who had mad skills at zapping and flipping that scanning gun. This is a very nice store. Every time I've gone in ALL the employees have been nice &/or able to answer questions &/or get a price for me if something wasn't marked. The store is always clean and orderly and everything always seems to be in its place. They offer several different items outside as well. From fencing to several different size of round logs to trailers to different power equipment. Speaking of power, they had a few riding mowers and mini bikes inside. Love love love this place. So glad we finally got one close to my home a few years back. I just recently switched to getting my dogs food here. And this particular visit was the first time I brought myy dog with me. They welcomed her with smiles, treats, and petting. Super friendly and helpful staff every time I go. They have my favorite rustic home decor, boots, and comfortable clothing. read more

I love Tractor Supply. I go there for what I need and they have it. The people are great for info. This was the first time at this location or any location in KY. I walked in and knew where I should need to go. Perfect. Got what I needed and left. Found something new to buy on the way to the car. Spoke to other customers about their purchase. Love this place. I bought a ingersol rand air compressor from them and they helped load it and tie it down. The guy gave us some extra rope in case it didn't ride as well as we expected. He went out of his way to be sure we were going to make it home without any trouble read more

Bought an 18' x 5' cattle fence panel and 4 t-posts to build a trellis for beans and squash. They have a much wider array of fencing here than I expected (and wider than anywhere else I've seen in town) so I may be back. This is a fair distance from my place so that's a compliment.
