I was told yesterday, December 31st, that I could not purchase anything from the hurstborne Petco…read more I was told this by the Asst Mgr. Shannon per Shawn the Store Mgr. I told her that I was purchasing treats for my dogs for christmas, just a one time thing and she refused to let me buy anything. I spend hundreds of dollars in that store for grooving , dog food, vital care and treats. for my two dogs After an incident with one of their groomers treating me and talking to me with disrespect in the summer of 2025, I told the mgr Shawn that I wasn't coming back. Instead of handling the situation better and apologizing after her groomers tone with me, she told me NOT TO RETURN. She has awful customer service and shouldn't manage any business. I now take my dogs to PetSmart for their grooving and I buy their dog food at Tractor Supply where the people at both stores are very nice and treat me with respect. I have been buying my dog treats at Krogers. I have two dogs and I use to my dogs to vital care since 2021. I even told my brother about vital care. After this altercation with Petco I use vital care and I canceled their services. I now take my dogs to my vet for their shots. In essence, The hurstborne Petco store IS NOT A PLACE THAT ANY PET OWNER should SHOP AT ESPECIALLY WITH PEOPLE LIKE SHANNON AND SHAWN MANAGING IT.

Was approached disrespectfully after being accused by a customer as well. I assume it's because I am covered in tattoos that I don't look like I can pay for a bag of repti-soil. I have been a customer for 10+ years but due to that experience, I will not be returning.

When it comes to pet supplies, even though there are quite a few options in town, PetSmart is the…read moreplace we go. Since we got Dante (our male Sheltie) in 2008 (he's still with us!), PetSmart has been the supplier of just about everything having to do with our boy (and, subsequently, Miss Madison). We feed our Shelties a limited ingredient food. PetSmart has a large variety of limited ingredient options, and we switch up once in a while, but stay in the same brand family. (If you care for your pet you'll feed them decent food. For the love of all things pet-related, DO NOT feed your dog Ole Roy or some similar, cheap-ass dog food.) I think I counted 6 aisles of dog food at this location, as well a 2 or 3 other aisles of treats and snacks for your favorite four-legged friend. Along with that, they have all of the accessories you'll need for the canine of your choice, including flea/tick treatments, collars & leashes, bedding, booties, and toys. More feline-friendly than canine? They have just about as much stuff for the cats as they do dogs, so basically copy/paste the previous paragraph and add litter and litter boxes. Speaking of cats, they also have an adoption area where you can take home the cat the catches your attention -- or the cat the chooses you -- from any of one- to two-dozen that they have at any time. Frequently on weekends they'll host an adoption event and bring in even more. The options don't end with dogs and cats, supply items for aquariums, birds, lizards.... The staff here has always been helpful, and at one point one of the employees helped solve an issue with one of our dogs that our vet wasn't able to, so don't downplay experience over education. We had our boy at the vet 4 times and his problem persisted. This employee asked a couple of questions, said she thought he had acquired an allergy to chicken and to change up his food. Within three weeks he was all better. A number of PetSmart locations in the area have animal hospitals and day care available, which is a very convenient service if you're traveling or need to get out of town unexpectedly and your regular pet sitter isn't available. Add to that a grooming service and PetSmart is pretty much your one-stop shop for all the things that live in your house that have more then 2 legs...or...um...gills?

When I got home, I removed a significant amount of loose undercoat hair myself. I spoke with the store manager, who refused a refund and only offered for me to bring my dog back. At that point, I had already finished additional grooming at home, including ear and facial fold cleaning. I did not receive the service I paid for.

I have been searching for a female, because I have had better luck training my girls vs my boys. Then today, I saw 'Andy'. Beautiful male dachshund. I was hoping to meet him to evaluate his temperament, and from there decide whether or not I should set something up for him to meet my PoohBear. I patiently stood by his kennel waiting for the woman to get off her phone call. Couldn't tell if she was FaceTiming a friend or just had it on speaker phone. She also did not acknowledge me when I walked into the store. Soon as she was finished on the phone she still ignored me, and I nicely told her that I was interested, and asked if she wouldn't mind getting the little man out of his cage so I could meet him. She looked at me funny, and said 'no, he's sleeping' I then said out loud to my sister that accompanied me today, it was time to leave and I guess I will look elsewhere. The employee watched us leave, locked the front door, then put up a sign. 'Be back in 5' I have been in puppy gram before, and when someone is looking to bring one of those babies home they have never hesitated to get them out of the kennel. Not sure what the problem was today, but someone needs to have a talk with that girl about customer service. There are plenty of reputable breeders within a 50 mile radius, and I will definitely be looking elsewhere
