I told her that I was purchasing treats for my dogs for christmas, just a one time thing and she refused to let me buy anything. I spend hundreds of dollars in that store for grooving , dog food, vital care and treats. for my two dogs After an incident with one of their groomers treating me and talking to me with disrespect in the summer of 2025, I told the mgr Shawn that I wasn't coming back. Instead of handling the situation better and apologizing after her groomers tone with me, she told me NOT TO RETURN. She has awful customer service and shouldn't manage any business. I now take my dogs to PetSmart for their grooving and I buy their dog food at Tractor Supply where the people at both stores are very nice and treat me with respect. I have been buying my dog treats at Krogers. I have two dogs and I use to my dogs to vital care since 2021. I even told my brother about vital care. After this altercation with Petco I use vital care and I canceled their services. I now take my dogs to my vet for their shots. In essence, The hurstborne Petco store IS NOT A PLACE THAT ANY PET OWNER should SHOP AT ESPECIALLY WITH PEOPLE LIKE SHANNON AND SHAWN MANAGING IT.

What is worse, they did a terrible job of grooming my dogs. I will never use them again! I would recommend that no one uses their services. Hopefully they will go out of business.

I am very picky about who grooms my baby because some people take off too much fur and they never leave him with a round face which is personally how I prefer him. But she literally listened to my needs and did a phenomenal job with his cut. Also, I was pleased to see that not only do they sell bakery items for your dog but they also have dog food and other items that you wouldn't expect to be sold at a grooming salon. I love how clean the space was and everyone was so welcoming and made sure my baby was in and out! I think we found our new groomer! Thank you Christina! You are amazing :)

When I got home, I removed a significant amount of loose undercoat hair myself. I spoke with the store manager, who refused a refund and only offered for me to bring my dog back. At that point, I had already finished additional grooming at home, including ear and facial fold cleaning. I did not receive the service I paid for.

I called to check on him while he was there and they said he was moving around on the grooming table and he had some mats that was not aware of . When I picked him up I was charged an extra $10. for the Matt's and another extra $10. Because the groomer had to use a shorter leash to keep him still. He gets excited when he sees people and dogs. He loves r everyone!! I ended up paying $100. We have never had issues when he was groomed before. I also found out the groomers are paid on commission- so it behooves them to add on the charges. I have been searching for a female, because I have had better luck training my girls vs my boys. Then today, I saw 'Andy'. Beautiful male dachshund. I was hoping to meet him to evaluate his temperament, and from there decide whether or not I should set something up for him to meet my PoohBear. I patiently stood by his kennel waiting for the woman to get off her phone call. Couldn't tell if she was FaceTiming a friend or just had it on speaker phone. She also did not acknowledge me when I walked into the store. Soon as she was finished on the phone she still ignored me, and I nicely told her that I was interested, and asked if she wouldn't mind getting the little man out of his cage so I could meet him. She looked at me funny, and said 'no, he's sleeping' I then said out loud to my sister that accompanied me today, it was time to leave and I guess I will look elsewhere. The employee watched us leave, locked the front door, then put up a sign. 'Be back in 5' I have been in puppy gram before, and when someone is looking to bring one of those babies home they have never hesitated to get them out of the kennel. Not sure what the problem was today, but someone needs to have a talk with that girl about customer service. There are plenty of reputable breeders within a 50 mile radius, and I will definitely be looking elsewhere

Then I was told that they only had the dog food but not the wet version. When asked why the process was not customer friendly, I was greeted with a rude employee that basically said I could leave if the process didn't work for me. Second time this location has employed rude individuals. Amazon will now be my go to.
