What a cool store.
I'd never been inside a TSC and I had a little time on my hands so l figured I'd wander around. I guessed it'd be something like a Home Depot or Lowe's. Delightfully, it was not.
If they had the same number of items as a Home Depot, Tractor Supply Co had a broader number of categories of items with fewer items per category. So if you needed a couple things for your welding project, they had it. Shooting supplies, got 'em. Water tanks? Yep. Got a couple the size of a 55 gallon drum, one bigger than that, and one the size of a small apartment.
As a dude who lives in a suburban area, hardware is always sold inside a box or a goofy plastic bag. You can't confirm that the threads will fit the bolt you've got or they're selling 50 when you need 3. Here you can confirm the hardware you're buying will work and they trust that you'll pay for what you walk out with rather than slipping it into your pocket.
But the coolest items by far were the chicks. Adorable, little chirping fuzzballs for sale for pennies per. I don't think a single person who walked onto the store while I was there didn't stop for a least a few seconds to admire the cute, little buggers before moving on to the thing that actually brought them into the store that day.
It was cool.
So thanks Tractor Supply Co for being so wonderfully different than I had expected. read more
