But, this store's prices is on average, 30-40% higher than major grocery stores and have some off-brands for dairy and meats. Since the recent past years jacked up prices of just about everything, this store's markups are egregious and an insult. I will never shop here again. Unfortunately for Llano, your options are limited. I rather save $ and starve.

My ONE STAR RATING goes to Electronics associate JOSEPH- was on a personal phone call with his daughter on one AirPod as he was assisting me in purchasing a new Straight Talk Phone and phone card for the first time. Not only did he have an attitude with me for interrupting his phone call and I couldn't tell if he was talking to me or talking to her because he was talking to both of us at the same time - he also sold me the wrong phone card that isn't compatible with the phone I selected. I called a manager when arriving home to tell her my complaint but didn't know the card was the wrong card yet. Then I had to purchase ANOTHER $35 phone card at home online to use the phone. Now I have to drive 30 minutes back to the Walmart to return the incorrect phone card JOSEPH sold me while he was extremely rude on his personal phone call. Flat out terrible! Who does this?!

Grocery store strawberries are routinely big and pulpy (that's a BAD thing!), but the last container we bought at this Walmart (Driscoll brand) was terrible: bright red on the outside but with hard white pulp inside. They sliced like potatoes (and were the color of potatoes inside), and the flavor was almost non-existent. When will produce sellers and suppliers (and inexperienced shoppers who fall for ads that say "big and plump") realize that "big and plump" DOES NOT indicate quality strawberries; the best ones are smaller, red or dark pink all the way through, and have a strong, sweet strawberry taste and (when cut) smell.

I found a tidy and well stocked store that had friendly associates and reasonable prices. Nothing particularly blew me away and I didn't spot any great bargains but it does look to be a pleasant shopping experience and it is a full service grocery store. The park they built across the street is beautiful and equipped with a skate park, basketball court, playground and swings. I see why so many of the locals hang out here. I have found great items from food to cosmetics to pet goodies. I was grateful to find they have many options even though they are on the smaller side. When it is cold I often come for the warm and ready gumbo and tortilla soup. Their low carb ready to go meals have made my life so much easier during the busy week. They even have sourdough fresh made in the bakery. I usually end up here over most other stores for my main groceries due to the always pleasant experience. It does tend to get pretty crowded and parking can be tricky. So I often come during early hours during the week.

This business is definitely both. They have a plethora of Texas cuts of meat sourced from Texas ranches, They have both pre-packaged and counter-fresh. On the flip side, they also have an abundance of fajitas, chorizo, al pastor, and other Mexican meats, typically found at traditional taquerias. We bought their in-house recipe chorizo and a bacon-wrapped chicken breast stuffed with jalapeños and pepper Jack cheese. We haven't cooked the chicken yet but I hope it's as spicy as it sounds. The butcher is in Monday - Friday but they're open 7 days a week. If you don't live in town but want to call ahead, they'll have you're order ready when you arrive. This is perfect for all the hunters that visit San Saba from October - January. They also have a small selection of Mexican brand groceries that are not available at the local grocery store. This is a great business addition for San Saba. They are conveniently located about 1 mile west of downtown on Hwy 190. Bottom line - A great combination of an American and Mexican Butcher shop. I'll definitely shop here again. Bon appétit, y'all.
