When we visited her this was the 1st place on our list. The restaurant is right next to convenience store next door. The place is quaint and cozy. I loved the plaid table cloth and decorative coke signage. I ordered the catfish plate and it came with either hush puppies or french fries. The batter was rather bland, which was unusual per my friend's comment. She also found out that the usual chef was not working at that time. Overall, the service was alright, and the place was clean. The food could be better for our visit.

Cool lake stuff to buy The only thing I do not like is the Chicken place. Disappointing experience with Buddies in Kingsland today…read more We called to order three pizzas, and the way the employee spoke to Teresa came across as rude and dismissive. She gave her name as Reda. I told her I thought her customer service skills were atrocious, and she replied, "Thank you." I understand people have rough days, and I don't expect anyone to roll out a red carpet over three pizzas. But basic courtesy shouldn't be too much to ask. We were calling to buy dinner, not asking for a favor. My complaint is about the phone interaction, not the quality of the food. That interaction made me uncomfortable placing an order, and I hope management takes the feedback seriously.

I had the Chorzio breakfast taco that I paired with their habanero salsa and the bacon on paired with the green salsa. I only needed one but I ate the second with no regrets. But then can you ever go wrong with a small, hole-in-the-wall taco place adorned with Mexican flags? The chorizo packed a kick, but it was a good slow burn. Spicy and delicious. The bacon was a little more laid back but equally delicious. And with that, I'm full for the rest of the day. But I'll probably still stop on my way back to Austin.

The meat: it marinated beautifully overnight in a simple lime-based marinade. The people we cooked for are very food-savvy and said the meat was wonderful. They had everything all ready to go and exactly as we had talked about when I picked up that bulk fajita order. Hard working ranchers and wonderful people. The quality: this is grass-fed, humanely raised animals. You're going to get more quality and nutritious products from this company. It's worth is, hands down. All other vendors' marked weights have been consistent. While I will smoke this brisket tomorrow and update the review, it will have to be the greatest brisket ever. If it is the greatest brisket ever, I will ask for a refund and continue to do business, but will bring a scale with me. -------------------------------- 21AUG16, I have a theory why they overcharge. I don't expect they get repeat business. The "quality" of the brisket was about equal to an ungraded brisket like at a WalMart Neighborhood Market. I made that mistake once when in a pinch for any brisket. Now I've made a similar mistake with Blt Farms. They tie with WM Market as worst briskets I've had in several decades. A replacement is out of the question, as I am not wasting a day, rub, and mop sauce on this inferior beef. A refund would be nice, but it helps burn the ripoff in memory better. Overcharging and bad quality. 2 strikes in a row. There is no third. Caveat Emptor!

What a huge disappointment. I hunted a bison and brought it to Hudson to have it processed. I had…read moredone this previously about three years ago and the results were satisfying. This time it's a horror show. I had the bison carcass cut at the ranch where I hunted it with a specific purpose of allowing the meat processor to have tomahawk steaks cut from it. I specifically told this to the person taking my order in Marble Falls when I dropped the carcass off in late January He said they couldn't do it in Marble Falls, but they could do it in Austin and he would send it there. I told him at the time if they could not do the tomahawks to tell me because I would bring it to another processor. He assured me they would get it done. As I had with my prior bison, I also ordered that the scraps be turned into sausage and ground beef. This time I also decided to try some breakfast sausage as well. And then I said I would also like to try a little of their jerky like meat, but by no means a lot of it. I showed up today to pick up the order. To my surprise, there were no tomahawks. They had neglected to tell me that they couldn't cut those in Austin either. They should've done that because I could've ordered something else be made out of those cuts. Instead, they took it upon themselves to give me multiple cases of breakfast sausage, regular sausage, and four cases of these snack sticks that are like jerky but aren't. Oh, and they gave me a balled up frozen backstrap hunk and two loosely bacon wrapped tenderloins. No ground beef. No other steak cuts No ribs. And all the guy could say at the store was "sorry." Oh and you took a little bit off of my otherwise $1800 tab which is actually $2000 when you factor in my deposit. So now I have two freezers full of sausage meat, a balled up hunk of frozen backstrap meat, two frozen tenderloins with a little bit of bacon wrapped around them, and four cases of these snack sticks that I refuse to refrigerate or freeze because it's not what I ordered. Of course I paid for it. I will seek a refund of this, but I know I'm not likely to get it. I'll probably end up donating them to a church or a veterans group or something like that so they don't completely go to waste. An expensive donation. What giant screwup by Hudson. I planned the bison hunt in January specifically so I could have this meat by summer. And now I have no ground beef, no steaks, no ribs, and enough sausage to choke a dozen horses. Never again. Do not go here. Ever. There are so many other meat processors in this area of the Hill country, I think it will be quite easy for me to find a better alternative in the future. let's see what this merchant does to try to rectify this epic cluster______. I would give Zero stars but that's not an option provided on Yelp.
