At our table for lunch today there was one pot roast lunch, one pork chop, a wilted spinach salad with chicken, a chicken fried steak and (just one more), a meat loaf plate. Everyone happy, extra gravy on those mashed potatoes, and delish fried cabbage. Plenty of lip smacking from the jalapeño cornbread eaters, and no shortage of refills (or waiting for them) for tea and cola. You CANNOT fail to check out the bakery. It's a must. There are scones sitting in the kitchen now, awaiting tomorrow's breakfast. Lemon blueberry. Maple oat. Cinnamon. Oh yum! The Ridge is adjacent to a lovely nursery (the market part of this equation) that also carries beautifully crafted wooden outdoor furniture. I felt the need to swing for a quite a while. My friend and I went to the Cafe and Bakery to get coffee, water, cake and pie... everything was great. There is indoor seating and live music on the weekends, but there is also plenty of outdoor seating within the nursery/ green space! The food is delicious and the ambiance of this place is equally as good. We both found this place to be relaxing and somewhere that we'd like to visit again. The gift shop also had a lot of locally made goods that were very unique and cool finds! Definitely recommend stopping here if you're in Kerrville!

What I experienced today was just more decline in an already mess of a store. Packed clothing racks, with little in the right place, and clothes on the floor, purses piled on top of purses, and in the wrong areas. The dressing room is still dark and dingy. Once again, the women's plus area is impossible to shop in due to a total lack of organization. The Kerrville Belk has become one of the worst stores I have ever been in. Nothing changes for the better in this store. If anything, it continues to deteriorate. Even the once organized men's department is now in shambles. Belk used to be the go to department store in Kerrville, but no longer. Now it's just a dump. I have reached out to corporate more than once, and get the same reply.

(This is Walmart, after all) So, we stood in line to check out w a person but after awhile we gave up & went to Scan & Go. Lucky for us Daisy was working! When we were overcharged, as I'd suspected we'd be, she came to help us. I apologized for being a bother & she immediately told me that I didn't need to apologize bc she loves her job! Wow! So refreshing & so rare to hear that. Thank you Daisy for being so friendly & helpful! I'd never be able to give Walmart 5 stars but I can't give Daisy anything other than 5 stars.
