The shop sells bbqs, outdoor furniture, pots, houseplants, garden art, landscaping supplies, gardening supplies, seeds, soil, fertilizer, trees, shrubs, flowers, vegetable plants... you get the gist. Plus the pricing is comparable to the big box shops. We recently popped into this location to check out their tree selection. We were looking for trees with a smallish spread and height. Mel, the gentleman working in the outdoor nursery, was super helpful. He provided advice on the tree planting distance from fixed physical obstructions and recommended various trees for a particular square footage. He also took the time to show us the trees even though it was a hot balmy day. He was obliging. He didn't complain about the heat unlike my whiny self. Additionally, he even told us about the cons of each tree wanting to provide us useful information to help us make the best selection for our landscaping needs. All the trees looked healthy and prices were competitive. The one star reduction is due to the consistent uncleanliness of the bathrooms. My oh my. Not sure if they have a janitorial staff during business hours.

But there is no way I could resist stopping in the Nursery to check out all the beautiful plants. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Pricing is not outrageous. This is one of the few independent owned local nurseries not yet gobbled up by a big franchise. On this past visit, I bought a bell pepper plant and a jalapeño pepper plant. The plants were about 3-4 inches tall and $3.99 each. They were healthy and gorgeous looking. Know it's up to me to keep these gems alive. Ohhh the pressure. They have a large assortment.... they have a bit of everything... succulents, roses, fruit trees, shade trees, houseplants, and seasonal vegetable plants. They also carry plant food, soil, garden decorations, pots, and gardening tools. The setup is rural and rustic but not amateurish. The parking lot is a gravel lot as is the nursery grounds. So leave your high heels at home. Another thing ... that unlike the big box shops, El Dorado Nursery does not have warranties or provide refunds for plants. Plus no dogs are allowed. They wreak havoc on the mental health of the resident chickens.

When there was some confusion on an order regarding availability of the size of the lumber, Nate got involved and immediately corrected the problem and also went the extra mile to make sure we were getting what we wanted plus a little for our trouble. Nate has always been extra helpful. The crew has been friendly and professional. They go out of their way to get the best quality products each time I make a trip to their lumber yard. Robert even brought a couple of large pieces of lumber from another store to El Dorado Hills so I could pick it up on a certain day. What service!! I highly recommend them and will definitely continue to be a customer.

Reservations are essential, my friend and I thought we could slip in and have lunch, it was a 45 minute wait, only finding that out after we had stood in line for over 20 minutes plus.. The property is like a beautiful garden with a koi pond and wonderful garden art that I wanted so, so badly. Money . There's also an olive oil and vinegar tasting room and a separate gift shop all in this wonderful warehouse setting. My friend bought 2 oils costing $40.00 . But they were exquisite, beautiful and flavorful and unique tasting. Yum. High hand also has a venue for weddings and I believe a brewery. It's mind blowing ! Serious gardeners must visit there. I enjoyed myself in the nursery after eating at High Hand Cafe. I walked around to find myself greeted by beautiful plants and trees. They had unique fruit trees; various types of plums. I noticed there was a succulent making station with clear directions on how to make one. This was a cool part of the nursery. I enjoyed the koi pond along with the decor. There was a few places on this property to check out but on the day I went, the register outside was closed and directed customers who wanted to buy anything to go to the shop inside to make purchases. I appreciated this direct communication. When I looked at the various plants, I did not see anything wrong with the prices. I found you got what you paid for. It is owned by a local woman entrepreneur. The garden center building is compact and filled with practical functional items and fun decorative items (perfect gift items). Some of the items are heirloom and organic flower & vegetable seeds, seed potatoes, plant food, gardening tools, houseplants, pots/planters, garden art, and wind chimes... just to name a few. Outside is the nursery with native flowers and plants, fruit trees, and vegetable plants. The outdoor area is compact. The plants are labeled to indicate if they are deer resistant which is important in these parts. Deer is abundant in these parts, and they have an appetite. The nursery inventory is thoughtfully laid out. Towards the back of the outside nursery is where the yoga studio is located. In addition to the yoga studio, there is a concrete patio with a view of the nursery below . That is where the outdoor yoga classes are held. They offer instruction in various types of yoga. The class schedule and pricing is posted on their website. Take a peek, pricing averages $15 a class and 10 class purchase is $120. The owner recently opened a cafe on the property. Nourish Cafe serves up cold pressed juices, fresh fruit smoothies, artisanal coffee, nourishing soups, and vibrant salads. Finding parking can be challenging. There is about 12 dedicated parking spaces in front on Green Valley Road. However, this place is popular. I have been an occasional consigner/customer with the store for the past few years. My items have…read morealways sold and always rather quickly. Unfortunately, I have had a bad experience that I feel it's important for any future consigners and/or customers to be made aware of. Last summer I dropped off some items to sell. Not long afterwards I checked my account and discovered I had sold a few of my items. My share of the proceeds came to a total f roughly $37 and some odd cents. I made the drive up to the store to pick up my check as that was how it was explained to me, the store did not mail out checks. I did not mind as I always enjoyed the store and was a good customer as well. However, when I asked for my check I was told there was not one in the "kitty" and that they would leave a message for the owner and she would contact me. Twice more I drove up the hill to the store and it was the story both times. I just now spoke with Shannon (store owner). She validated the fact that there should have been a check for $37 for me but because it had been a year, she had "no way" of giving me the money she owed me now. I am appalled by her response and just cannot grasp how someone can be so dishonest and unethical! When she decides to pay me what she owes me, I will then maybe take my comment down but not until then. Also, there were a few nicer items I delivered that have never been accounted for and when I visited the following month upon dropping them off, the staff was never able to locate them so I'm not sure what possibly could have happened to them nir did I ever received any notification as to whether they sold or were more or less donated.

The place was clean and organized. The person holding the class was very informative.
