Walmart Neighborhood Market is their entry to compete with straight up grocery stores. Unlike Supercenters, the Neighborhood Market doesn't have Tire & Lube or Vision or a nail salon. They have a very few things in the dry goods department and a full pharmacy plus the usual grocery departments. That's about it. The store is tidy and pretty decently stocked. I had no trouble finding the half dozen or so things on the list. Prices were clearly marked on nearly everything. The store is well laid out. I still won't buy dairy, produce or meats from Walmart but the frozen was fine and the canned goods and spices are good. Beer was about the usual price. Prices are very competitive. The parking lot was tidy and there were very few carts needing to be brought in. Masks are required and there is an associate checking people in and out to ensure that they are not over capacity. All of the open registers appear to be self checkout. I did not see anyone actually working a register. If you're looking for more service, there's always Harris Teeter or Food Lion or Publix. Order pick up: We have used order pick up at other Publix for years. For the past two years since…read moremoving to the area we started using this location. I would estimate that 50% of the time we pick up milk from this Publix, it is spoiled within a couple days. Last week's order the milk was spoiled when we opened it although it still showed a week of shelf life. I don't have time to drive 15 minutes back to the store and 15 minutes back home to exchange a gallon of milk (hence the reason why we use the order pick up service). If I buy a gallon of milk myself I can keep it for at least two weeks without it spoiling because we keep our refrigerator VERY cold (37 degrees). I believe when they pick orders they just grab the one closest to them and don't look at the date, and/or they pick the order and leave it in a cart for hours sitting in a location that is not refrigerated. If this happened every once in a while I wouldn't complain. But it is now happening most of the time we buy milk from this Publix. I would estimate that they owe us at least 20-30 gallons of milk over the past two years.
