I had asked them to hold a snowblower for me. Told them I was driving from NY and I was on my way. When I got there they told me that they waited an hour for me then sold it. My drive was 70 miles and took an hour and fourth minutes . Tractor supply policy is to hold an item for 24 hours but apparently not for my purchase, and the gift card offered that wasn't taken will not make up for me getting screwed over. Will never shop there and will tell all about my experience hoping they will not either. read more

I've otherwise received great service from all the other staff/lower-level associates/cashiers at this location in the past, and don't wish for this to reflect badly upon them, as they have consistently been pleasant, polite, and helpful, except for one, the manager. He is the subject of this complaint. I stopped in there on April 30th around 11:15am to pick up some fence posts and went to their outdoor section to see what they had. For the size I wanted, they had a partial pallet open with what looked like a lot of the discards from several other pallets... the warped ones, cracked ones, and ones with chunks missing out of them. I noticed there was an unopened pallet of them on top of another stack, at waist level, with what looked like some very nice, new ones which were straight and intact. I took a price label with a bar code inside because they were too large to easily carry indoors and paid for five of them plus some other items. When I came back out to that section another employee came out after me, who turned out to be the manager, and I asked him if he'd kindly open the other pallet for me, just a simple matter of cutting off the metal straps just like the other open pallets of larger posts right next to it. He told me I had to pick from the ones on the opened pallet. I attempted to reason with him and told him why I wanted the ones off the new pallet. He completely refused. Angry about the situation, I went indoors and demanded a refund on everything I purchased, and was given one as I described why I wanted the refund to the cashier. The manager saw I was getting a refund and came by to eavesdrop on what was going on. I called corporate and complained to a representative named Jorge, who then assured me that the store was called and I would be able to buy the ones I wanted off the new pallet. Well when I got in there I flagged down a different employee who was not the manager to help me out, explaining the situation to her. I also explained that I'd rather not deal with the manager in this matter because I was still pretty annoyed with him. I went out to wait by the posts and the manager came out. I figured the issue had been settled now given what I was told by corporate on the phone. He refused to sell me the ones I wanted AGAIN! So I left the store angry again and called corporate again. I spoke to Jorge again and he tried to smooth out the issue and give me a discount on THE POSTS I DID NOT WANT, and then told me that the manager told him on the second call that it was a "safety issue", which makes no sense, because there were several other unbound pallets of larger, ostensibly more dangerous posts sitting right next to the smaller-sized ones I wanted. They were also not packed in such a way that they posed any danger... they had strapping spacers on each row to keep them from buckling and sending a bunch off the edge. I have no idea why the manager lied through his teeth to corporate citing a "safety issue" when an identical "issue" already existed on at least three other pallets. I am really angry and I feel like I've been treated badly and jerked around by corporate as well as the store manager himself, who is apparently willing to lie to save his own ass from dealing with complaints or just plain doing something reasonable which would have taken two minutes at most and would have resulted in them keeping a nearly $70 sale as well as all future sales which both my friends and I would have made at this location. I'm not a big spender, but I do spend an average of around $400-$600 per year at this location, but will be patronizing other stores which are not run or owned by Tractor Supply in the area from now on. As things stand right now, I have been lied to and had the manager of the store himself act unreasonably for completely incomprehensible reasons. I've had an hour and a half of my time wasted and all I ultimately was offered in the end was a discount on ITEMS I DID NOT WANT, and even if I wanted them, the discount I was offered doesn't even compensate me for what my time is worth in dealing with this matter, between being on hold for customer service and my actual direct dealings with the store and it's manager. This is a terrible way to run a business and if I were corporate, I would be ashamed of the person I chose to run this location right now. read more

They have everything you need but the absolute worst when you need help! Asked for help getting 330 feet of fencing. No one would help but the all watched me at 5'4" 120 pounds man handle it by myself. Thank goodness for the customer in the parking lot that helped. I'll go back to Rutland from now on! True hometown service!!! On Wed. 2/13/19 my wife and I bought a Husky 24" snow blower here. My truck was not working and all we had was the Chevy Impala. Store mgr. Shawn Howard loaded it into his personnel truck and delivered it to my house about 5 miles away. We truly appreciate it!! The snow blower works awesome!!!! We definitely shop here more often!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Really good prices if you have farming equipment. The only problem is probably their location, since they are on the outskirts of the city. You can bring your animals in too. Nice staff and interesting things that you wouldn't see at the other stores around. read more
