I was mortified! But lo and behold, I found this clinic that must have been sent from the heavens, because after being tossed around from doctor to doctor, they're the only ones who have been able to clear my skin! One of the things to keep in mind is that because this clinic is mostly for cosmetic procedures, they do not accept insurance. I must admit, I was a little bit skeptical when they said they don't accept insurance, but I'm so glad I gave them a try or else I would've missed this gem. Every penny I paid had been worth it. I was assessed by Dr. Hayre (the dermatologist), and she prescribed me some topicals as well as an oral medication. She also recommended I do isolaz once a week, which I have been doing regularly. Ratana does my isolaz treatments each week, and she is fantastic! I always look forward to the appointments with her, she's so fun to talk to and is super gentle with the treatment and the extractions (which usually hurt so bad!!). I also have to thank them for being so accommodating toward me. My job is very hectic and sometimes I end up having to stay longer than expected, which makes it hard for me to make it to appointments on time sometimes. Every time this has happened the front desk has been nothing but patient and work hard to make sure that I can make it. They're amazing! Bottom line: if you want amazing skin, COME HERE!

So she advised dysport around my forehead and crows feet and we did a lip flip, and it was amazing. When I tell you I never knew how fresh and rested I could feel, not to mention see my lips look a little juicer. As a guy living in LA I had seen plenty of overdone faces and was terrified I would start looking artificial but the opposite was true, I started feeling the most like myself I had ever felt. I was hooked and flew back to DC for the next 3 years to see her. (Now I live in DC so its way easier) Since starting with Dysport and a Lip Flip I now get filler in my lips and have even tried Under Eye filler which was the most incredible addition. I also want to mention I was super nervous about the pain from needles but she was so sweet and patient with me and even recommended a dental block for when she does my lips! People never know I have gotten anything done and regularly comment on the face that I look 10 years younger than I am! All in all I would say that her talent is unmatched and the way that she views your face is like that of an artist. She will truly listen to you and work with you to help you feel like best version of yourself- without ever pushing or making you feel like she is trying to upsell (she has certainly told me no multiple times). I only ever do simple cuts, nothing fancy. My haircut, done by Anderson (a level 3 stylist), is objectively good. The skill was there. But it's definitely shorter than I wanted it. Went in for a lob, came out with an asymmetrical bob...Honestly I was panicking while he was drying it because it was starting to look like Lord Farquaad from Shrek. I asked if he could style it like in the reference pictures I showed (simple waves, to reduce Farquaad-ness). He tried to do it with the brush/dryer, which obviously wasn't working, and didn't want to use a flatiron. So I just suffered through scalding heat on my scalp and hair pulling. I got told I don't have curly hair. I got told I don't have frizzy hair. I, in fact, have both of those. Some other minor things: 1. When I got home I had some hair that was noticeably longer than the rest, like it never got cut. So...I had to do it. Just a few strands, but normally stylists check for that when your hair is dry. 2. I almost never use heat on my hair, so I asked for recs and mentioned a specific brand doesn't work for me. He immediately said he loves that brand. I said yeah...but it doesn't work for me. Anything else? "Any salon brand." Cool. Not helpful. 3. Asked for something at the end to tame the pieces that were sticking out (again, I have frizzy hair). He looked...confused? Smoothing as a last step has been standard at every other place I've been to. There is nothing in the whole salon like that? Also, my introvert-self just wants to go somewhere where I don't have to be engaged in conversation the whole time. Anyway. Won't go back, my hunt continues.

Last time I came here, they had Line bear-themed masks and Gudetama lotions. So kawaii!! They also have a loyalty program but they don't always adhere to it. Just remind them to write down your phone number if the system isn't working. Feel mixed about this place, but still glad it's here.
