Just a throwback to the old days (my town also had a combo photo/hobby shop for many years, they seem to go together). Some reviews of hobby shops boil down to "great selection, the owner's a jerk". As for a hobby shop, it is really not hobbies in the traditional sense where they are quite limited in the variety of things they carry. I can't really comment on the prices of the goods because it is more of "if you need it, you'll pay what it costs".

I'm so glad we checked out Game King in Fall River, because even though it seems unassuming, I am sure this is going to be the place to be once we can get back in the groove of tabletop nights! I could have spent hours here meandering around the winding aisles, chock full of hard to find comics (they even had some early releases!), tabletop figurines and paints, die of every shape, size, and color, and unique merchandise that I've only seen online for three times the price. As a huge Magic the Gathering nerd, I was delighted to browse through their wide array of Planeswalker Funko Pops, including the Nissa Revane figurine that I have been desperately trying to find! I think these went out of circulation a few years back, and the only place I've seen them was on Ebay for upwards of fifty bucks. Not so at Game King, where they were reasonably priced, and of course, it's awesome to support a great small business like this one. The clerk was friendly and very attentive - I appreciated the personalized attention, willingness to answer questions, and for lack of a better term "geek out" with me about the Magic The Gathering fandom. For any gamer, or someone collecting comics, this is a good place to check out if you're in the area.
