This store is part of a chain of 5 stores in the Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts area. They focus on collectible toys, puzzles, video games and more. It's sort of like a Toy brick-and-mortar E-bay business....where Toy Vault is always buying vintage & new toys from Star Wars, Funko Pop, Jurassic Park, Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles, He-Man, Ghostbusters, Mego, wrestling, SuperHero, Transformers, Voltron, GI Joe, Predator, Aliens, Shogun Warriors, Lego, Smurfs, JEM, Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, music and video game toys and much more...... for resale..... The collections are really nicely displayed and the sections are also very nicely organized. It's a dream place if are into Star Wars, SuperHeroes, etc.....

Reality A Games is the best retro game & card store in Rhode Island…read more The staff here are very friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to help assist you in finding anything you are looking for. Every time I walk into the store, I am greeting by an associate and asked how I am doing and if I can be assisted at all (even at peak times where customers are almost shoulder to shoulder). For a 'smaller' location, Reality A Games has a strong variety and selection of cards, games, collectibles, video game systems, and they even host tournaments. Reality A Games has something for every one of all ages and interests. Currently, I am primarily into retro games only, and I do not have much experience with cards, but from my experience I have noticed there are always customers inside the shop playing Magic the Gathering, and they seem to really enjoy the atmosphere that Reality A Games has created. For years, I have been hunting down big name titles, and smaller name titles across many different generations of systems at Reality A Games. Every time I visit, there is always new games and/or systems that I did not see on my previous visit. The staff here are always happy to help me find what I am looking for, and if they do not have it in stock, they give me great tips on where I can find certain titles and if they may expect it in store soon. From customers coming in to part with their collections, to customers chasing that nostalgia of games they played growing up, Reality A Games and the devoted staff approach you with nothing but the best customer service you have ever experienced in these past few years of retail business. Every video game I have purchased here has been flawless, I've been able to build up my collection through Reality A Games selection of many titles, the price point and value in quality has been incredible, and I am happy to support this local shop for years to come!

Gruff insecure manager lost my business after taking his frustrations out on me over…read moremisunderstandings. First, there was some strange miscommunication as he fails to explain the differences between the final copy in stock versus how they usually sell them. I ask for clarification, and he gives a redundant non-answer after already giving me non-laymen terms in the first place. I take a guess at what he meant. "So, like, the (price tag) sticker?" he gives weird condescending quip thinking I meant the one he's applying to seal the case. I can empathize with a misunderstanding, but that was a just plain rude response. We don't have that rapport. We aren't friends. Then I clarify. He gives an exhausted "Well Goo Gone exists." he sounds like he didn't get any sleep and that I'm making his day harder. Like, dude.. I get that GameStop is a horrible employer and I don't want to be there anymore than you do. Don't take it out on me. We then have what I thought was a friendly respectful interaction about whether Paypal barcode is a payment option and I'm thinking this is going fine so I'm comfortable enough to shoot the breeze about how it gets me 3% back on my medications. He seemed chill enough. In retrospect, I'm realizing my N95 mask and resting face must make me look... stern?? to him? Because he's giving this unnecessary "sorry" about it where I'm trying to placate *him* that it's okay and that I ask it everywhere. Here's where it became a problem. After he asks if I want to add protection to my order, My response somehow warranted he derail the transaction to give this bizarre frustrated lecture about how he has a store to run or something. And what prompted this power trip? I said.... "Nope" Cricket chirps. That's it. "Nope." How dare I??? Did I say it too quickly? Too flatly? Did my mask obscure the friendly expressiveness? Who cares at this point, YOU'RE in control and THIS is how you handle it? Does a sudden passing breeze make you want to punch a baby, too? the most baffling part is that video game stores are going to have neurodiverse people saying quick short awkward answers especially if they know they're too long winded otherwise (like here!). That's par for the course. It's gaming, not Abercrombie. Expect awkwardness, assume good intent. I had to multiple times in our short awkward time together. Anyways, Nostradamus here is the master of self-fulfilling prophecy as I cancelled my order and had a lovely time telling him off before taking my business to a competitor at the next town over. The most disappointing thing about it is that this is just the most recent *awful* experience. I shopped at GameStops considerably less in the past seven years and each time I get a stunning reminder that your company culture just keeps spewing out miserably off-putting insecure staff or anxiously under-trained but infinitely more well-meaning canaries in your coal mine that quit at first sign of abuse (like myself). Truly, "Power to the player", means the ability to walk out and take your business elsewhere.

I've never had a problem with the service here, nor any of the purchases of games, accessories or cards for online gaming subscriptions. The store itself is on the smaller side, and so is the parking lot, which it shares with a strip of other retail stores. As a fond memory, I recall the time a few years back, when my stepson, who introduced me to the world of Xbox and Call of Duty, reserved a new game and was one of the first to purchase the game when it was released. The store stayed open late as people waited in the parking lot for the privilege of being among the first to obtain the game. Today, they saved my butt, so to speak. Last week, I had to ground my stepson (who's now almost 18!), and as a consequence, took away some wires so he couldn't use his PS4 game system. After the grounding was over, however, somehow the power cord to the system got lost, so I had to get him a new cord. I called the store on Quaker Lane in Warwick, but they did not have one. Next, I called this store, and the young man who answered the phone was very polite and helpful. Not only did he check to make sure they had the correct cord in stock, he offered to put it aside for me. I didn't ask how much it cost, but I was expecting to be out like $40 or $50. When I got there, I was pleasantly surprised that it only cost about $8!

I was shocked at what she said and it caught me off guard so I just made my purchase and left very unhappy. I returned there 2 days ago to use a gift card that I got and long and behold I should have went elsewhere, I picked my game and brought it to the counter, the young man cashed me out and gave me my game, as I was walking out of the store I noticed he had given me a pre owned game for $55 and the new game was $59, I have nothing against buying pre owned but I wanted this game new so I asked the guy why he had given me the pre owned, his response was to save me $5 I said I wanted the new one and he fought with me about my decision and said there is nothing wrong with a pre owned game and that it still has a warranty , I said that's fine but I still want the new game, at the end of this conversation he said that there were no more new games and they only had the pre owned, I said that great, you should have told me that right from the beginning, the employees that work there are idiots and I will never step foot in that place again in fact, next time I buy a game machine or game I will order it online or just go to best buy, game stop just lost another customer due to moron employees.
