Being the parent of a teenage stepson, I am well-acquainted with this store and have been here at least a half-dozen times over the last six years. I've never had a problem with the service here, nor any of the purchases of games, accessories or cards for online gaming subscriptions. The store itself is on the smaller side, and so is the parking lot, which it shares with a strip of other retail stores. As a fond memory, I recall the time a few years back, when my stepson, who introduced me to the world of Xbox and Call of Duty, reserved a new game and was one of the first to purchase the game when it was released. The store stayed open late as people waited in the parking lot for the privilege of being among the first to obtain the game. Today, they saved my butt, so to speak. Last week, I had to ground my stepson (who's now almost 18!), and as a consequence, took away some wires so he couldn't use his PS4 game system. After the grounding was over, however, somehow the power cord to the system got lost, so I had to get him a new cord. I called the store on Quaker Lane in Warwick, but they did not have one. Next, I called this store, and the young man who answered the phone was very polite and helpful. Not only did he check to make sure they had the correct cord in stock, he offered to put it aside for me. I didn't ask how much it cost, but I was expecting to be out like $40 or $50. I agree with Bryan, there are many game stops but this one is the closest for me. I'm usually a regular at this location and enjoy talking with the employees, their always really nice to me and comical and none of them have ever asked me if I am purchasing a game for my boyfriend or brother (something I have received at many game stores) There has been many times i've walked in with no idea what I want and after talking they can confidently recommend certain titles. read more

I should have read the reviews before buying here . I purchased my ps 4 this past January and the service was horrible, I had some questions that I wanted answered, but the counter girl said it is very busy here today do want the ps4 or not? I was shocked at what she said and it caught me off guard so I just made my purchase and left very unhappy. I returned there 2 days ago to use a gift card that I got and long and behold I should have went elsewhere, I picked my game and brought it to the counter, the young man cashed me out and gave me my game, as I was walking out of the store I noticed he had given me a pre owned game for $55 and the new game was $59, I have nothing against buying pre owned but I wanted this game new so I asked the guy why he had given me the pre owned, his response was to save me $5 I said I wanted the new one and he fought with me about my decision and said there is nothing wrong with a pre owned game and that it still has a warranty , I said that's fine but I still want the new game, at the end of this conversation he said that there were no more new games and they only had the pre owned, I said that great, you should have told me that right from the beginning, the employees that work there are idiots and I will never step foot in that place again in fact, next time I buy a game machine or game I will order it online or just go to best buy, game stop just lost another customer due to moron employees. read more

Anyone that knows me knows that I am quite a patient person and I prefer to buy from businesses rather than online,however yesterday's experience was one of the worst I have ever had. It seems management is truly only worried about up selling 12 month subscriptions. I understand business and the art of up selling,however in business the loss of a customer is far worse than loss of a upsell. As for the two gentlemen that were working, they could have used more help. One seemed to be either training or lacking the motivation to use speed, and the other lacks ability to multi-task. For instance the first gentleman upsold a subscription service, but failed follow a step which forced a customer who was with him when we walked in have to get back in line. The second associate was finally waiting on us, if you can call it that, he answered the phone twice while we are waiting to check out and actually left us standing there to help the other associate. He then actually seemed irritated when I gave him a expired power up card LOL. I suppose customers that he knows are the only ones he worried about. Approximately 3 customers walk out while I waited nearly twenty minutes in line, and we were next, as a consumer there are too many things wrong with this experience to go back to this location. In closing perhaps allow the phone to ring until your line is gone, because I assure you they will call back and perhaps put people on your staff that can handle the job properly or merely more of them on so when you're up selling you don't have to do it at the register rather upsell on your floor. Went to this GameStop last night to trade in an old Xbox 360. I went up to the counter with the console and the power brick and was told they could not buy the Xbox without an HDMI cord. I was confused and asked why I needed to include a cable I purchased myself. One of the employees then rudely asked "when you buy a console wouldn't you expect the video plug in?" And I responded "not when the console is used, it'd expect it to be sold as is." The employee gave me a dirty looked and walked away. The friend I was with then attempted to trade in some games, including COD WW2, Far Cry 5, and more. After having 5 games appraised at $50, he decided to take the games back and sell them elsewhere. After being constantly reminded by the GameStop employees that "the trade in values change daily so you should trade these games in now", we drove to Best Buy and sold the same 5 games for $72. Pretty sad that an electronic store game us more money for the games than a store dedicated to video games. Not to mention, the Best Buy had much friendlier and responsive customer service! read more
