I am so disappointed in this company, if I would have only done my home work before letting them have my companies business. The sales person that called me so many times built my trust in this company by showing me all the things that where wrong with the company that was originally hosting my website and now she does not even work for them. I gave them three months to get my phones ringing, the only time my phones rang out was from other companies telling me that my company needed to be verified on Google. Not once in three months did anyone call and say " Hey I saw your website on Google and would like some information about your services" So I called them to cancel on Sept.19,2022 the same day they charged my brothers card for the next months services . Now they do not want to refund the money for September to October even though I strongly informed them to take down the website and do not continue to do any work for my company. This has turned into such a problem. I almost feel sorry the the owner of Townsquare. All they had to do was cancel the service and refund the money that was still in pending at the time of my call. Undortunetly yelp doesn't allow for 0 star reviews. We've been trying to get domain transferred for 2 months thanks o another provider. Our website went downbut wasn't never transferred over. we contributed to be billed. Now the website is back up and running and we continue to be billed. We stopped our google ads when the site was down costing us tons of money. We emailed multiple times a week to get it transferred And it finally was this week. Paid my initial fee and was given 2 FREE months for referrals. $397 was taken from my account after being told I was getting a free month of service. i did not budget for this and placed into the negatives at my bank. I had a few I had to pay because this company robbed me. Was told by an employee I would receive a refund within 5-10 business days. yesterday was 10 days. Today they took another hundred dollars from my account without permission and has placed me AGAIN in the negatives. THERE IS NO RECEIPT FROM EITHER OF THESE TRANSACTIONS FROM THIS COMPANY. My company wanted local targeted ads. That's all. We have our own customer portal, website, everything already. We got upsold web development and it came with their garbage portal as a package. Didn't want it but whatever. I tell them I like my site as it is but if they can improve it there were two minor changes they could do. I tell them the changes: Make my listed services all plural, and add one slogan on the splash page. That's all. This is child's play text work for web, like 10 minutes of work. Two months go by $800 and they sent one website "update" where none of my changes were done but instead they used some garbage template and changed my site removing most pertinent information about the business and didn't do the two minor changes I asked for. I said "this is all wrong" so they sent another template that was even worse that reversed all the colors making my logo unreadable. Finally I said to forget the web work due to the inability to do anything right. I can't use anything and they aren't listening to my simple requests, but at least we have been doing local targeted ads, right? WRONG. THEY NEVER RAN THE ADS. Charged me $800 for this and refuse to give out a refund. I'm going to have to take legal action to get my money back as they are still claiming they provided services! What services exactly???? I should have listened to my gut and reviews. They promise the world, then once they get your money, no return phone calls. Days on end before receiving an answer to my emails.... I gave them my sign on credentials to my web hosting provider to they could publish my new website they were going to build. I had a temporary one up with my contact info. They sent me a link to view their progress almost 2 weeks later. I replied to that email with a bunch of things to change. Before they changed anything, they published the unfinished web page and redirected my domain to "their" servers and broke my domain email. This was right before new years and I couldn't get ahold of anyone to fix it. After the new year when they call came back, they STILL didn't fix it. I had to set up another email account and go change that on all my other accounts, plus use that one for my business cards, flyers, and the sign on the back of my truck sine I couldn't wait for them to get back to me. I finally got fed up and fired them. We'll see if I get a refund since they not only didn't produce what they promised, they screwed up things that were working fine! They came to me and offered their services to get my website and SEO going. We had a hard deadline for getting my website live - I was attending an event that they were hosting tp promote my store. They were unable to get my website live before this event. I, knowing nothing about websites, was able to go on to GoDaddy and get a basic website live in about 15min. To say that I am disappointed and upset would be an understatement. I have sent an email to the people I've been working with asking for them the cancel my services with them and asked for a full refund. I definitely should have done some research and read reviews before hiring them to do anything for me. I recently started a Nonprofit to search for missing kids, so I hired them to build the site, initially it was ok but then my team and I decided we needed a more design heavy company. So we told them we'll be switching and that we didn't need their services. Despite this they charged me another 700 dollars, claiming that they thought I said I wanted another month to move my stuff to the other vendor. My email was quite clear that I did not. When I asked and pressed for a refund they ghosted me. I hope it was worth it, because that could have bought us 10 more hours of private investigator work to find a missing kid. We are web developers. A client came to us as they cannot retrieve a copy of their website at TownSquare Media (Interactive), and their domain name "expired" the same day as the client canceled their account (that's a bit of a coincidence). They hired us to rebuild the same website as they were paying $300 per month and were supposed to have leads driven to their door but have not received many, if any at all. My client can no longer access their domain names and TownSquare will not help retrieve them, event though they control them. While they say the client "owns" the site, they will not provide anything but written content, no photos, no copies of the look and feel.. Additionally, they said that they "offer" to move/transfer the domain, but never lets the client know that information. I asked if they sent a notice to the client outlining what they'll need to do in order to retain the domains and their TownSquare's domain tech Evan, said that they are not able send notices. We then asked to speak to a supervisor, Evan claimed there "is no one else to speak with", he is the tier one support. He retracted that later in the conversation and said he would have a manager "reach out" to me. No one has "reached out" to us. We have been calling TownSquare Interactive for two weeks as of today, 9/5/23. My only recourse is to give an accurate review on every social media outlet and maybe someone will "hear" us. Sadly they don't respond to comments on social media, they have ZERO engagement on their Facebook page and have no interaction with their "followers". This is a company who's very business is providing expertise in SEO, Social Media marketing, engagements, how to respond to reviews and building websites that are "owned" by the client...(until the client leaves). Let's hope they will put there money where there mouth is. In checking with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), there are 8 pages of unresolved complaints. Greetings! I'm a freelance SEO consultant who works on behalf of business clients to interface with their SEO firms. I personally do not perform the SEO work required to rank websites; I simply audit the work performed by these firms, recommend changes and hold SEO firms accountable to their clients to ensure my clients receive a healthy ROI for their SEO expenditures. I've now been working with TownSqaure Interactive as a client's liaison for a couple of months and I have to say, quite regrettably, their SEO services are less than desirable. Since working with TSI, I've had to tell them how to do their job to improve rankings through both on-page and off-page SEO, recommending simple things that should already be part of their SEO practices -- they're not. For me, they seem to be focusing on companies and business owners that have no clue what SEO really is, how it works, and that do not question their actions. They seem to 'prey' on small business owners that are none-the-wiser to their unscrupulous and unaccountable activities. They do not seem to have the clients' best interest in-mind. Rather, they do enough to get the website to improve in the rankings a little through on-page SEO and make minor changes here and there while collecting nearly $3,600 year. I've asked if they use certain tools to improve and test their work and some do not even know what it is -- it's called Google Lighthouse. They perform half of the SEO necessary to rank a website then tell me that it's up to the client to build the other half of SEO, off-page SEO, without ever recommending what it is, how to go about it or why it's so important. In fact, off-page SEO is just, if not more important than on-page SEO. To some people reading this... this may all sound gibberish to you and that's what it appears they hope for -- let's sound really smart to make it seem like SEO is something they can never really understand or measure. SEO is a marketing strategy that has numerous complex verticals but not overly difficult to understand. Here's just 5 reasons why I would recommend avoiding this company: 1. As mentioned, there are two parts to an SEO strategy: On-page SEO and Off-page SEO. TSI focuses solely on the easy on-page SEO (website edits and strategies) and never talk with their clients about off-page SEO (backlink building, social shares, etc.). Because off-page SEO is left up to the client to figure out (most businesses have never even heard of it), they do their clients a HUGE disservice and effectively charge prices for only half of what is required for a proper SEO strategy. 2. Many basic SEO requirements are missing from their on-page SEO strategies. I really have no idea what kind of experience their 'SEO experts' have but I can say in honesty that they're not very good at their job. When I'm making basic recommendations for SEO edits, this tells me their 'experts' are not very informed. 3. The content written for the sites is thin, cheap, and essentially regurgitated, and keyword stuffy. There is nothing unique about it. Granted, there is only so much content available before things become redundant but there is nothing written separating my client from every other site in his industry -- it all screams "Me too." 4. The simple fact that we have to hold them accountable to the work and results they deliver is a red flag. There is little to no reports sent to the client on the work performed and how their results were achieved, therefore, there is really no way to measure the SEO ROI. Today there was an announcement that all Google Reviews will be suspended until further notice due to COVID-19. One would think their SEO firm would make this announcement to their client base but my client received no notice -- I informed them. This is not what you would expect from your SEO firm. 5. What work they're doing doesn't seem to carry any long-term effects. I've asked on several occasions what the strategies were and either received vague or no responses at all. I think the company is intimidated by holding them accountable to their actions or lack thereof. Instead of focusing on the clients they do have and delivering an amazing SEO experience and result, it appears they just want to acquire more and more clients so that if one does decide they can no longer handle their tactics, they're fine with their client just leaving -- at the risk of taking hits in their ranking progress. In short, I would avoid this company at all costs -- literally. The results and experience you receive, unless changed due to all of the negative reviews, will be less than fruitful. Save yourself the frustrations and search for a better SEO firm that has your company's interests and results in-mind. read more

Unfortunately I entered my contact info and the first call I received from Townsquare was not a Miami web designer but someone from a call center. I soon realized that this was not the platform I wanted and told him do, to delete my info. I then received about 10 more random calls from all around the USA from Townsquare salespeople trying to sign me up. Not only did my page views DECREASE from the time I ran the site to when Townsquare was managing it, the staff assigned to my account changed and all my requests for the site were never done. I requested Cancellation in December 2021. I was told that my account manager would process that. Twenty days later, I got a telephone call from her manager who literally tried to save the account by charging me MORE MONEY just to get what I was promised. No. Now I'm in a battle with GoDaddy.com to get my domain back because the "tech" people at Townsquare cannot figure out how to give me the private key to get my domain back (like I provided to transfer it to them in the first place). This Media Company is terrible. I was in the process of closing my company and needed the website taken down (or at least updated that we were closed) so customers were aware. I had reached out to my media specialist 2 weeks in advance to let them know that we will be closing and that this information should be put on our Google listing and our website. It is now three weeks later (AFTER OUR CLOSING DATE) and the website still says we are open and the google listing hasn't been touched. I wish I could say this experience with TSI was the only bad one, but unfortunately, since I started working with them, communication was horrible, updates would come months later after they were needed, and expertise on media design was extremely disappointing for paying $350/ month on something I could've created myself. read more

Initially I was promised a month free for each person I recommended. This did not occur. Then I was promised to be in the top five Google search within 90 days. This also did not occur. I built and designed my own website and they came in to make several (wrong) changes. I had to continually ask them to reverse several of the changes they made. They posted the wrong days, wrong hours, wrong descriptions of products. Then they tried to take my website domain name from me when I was the one who paid for it and set it up. I explained I would like to do some review first of their company. See what others were saying. I was already burned by HomeAdvisor and I am not paying another company (these people I'm leaving a review for since they love to talk about your companies online reviews I thought it fitting to leave them one), to take money for something that can be done myself. We own a construction company and were told Townsquare Media could increase our online presence and help us with SEO and marketing. The exact opposite happened. Our calls went to almost zero as soon as we launched with them. They launched a second website for us, which took our Google standings from 1st line in the search results to the second page in just a few days. When working with their website team I asked them several times to correct the wrong number on our website before they changed it. They did not listen to our requests regarding adding the professional photos we sent them or our requests for pushing the services we wanted them to. The website they created looked to be done by a robot that knew nothing about us or our business. Also, because of what they had done with the new website, we were suspended from our Google business listing, and I had to go through an appeal process to gain control of it again. The company has taken no responsibility for the damage they caused, and even though we requested to have them cancel 22 days after launching with them, they are refusing to give us the refund we were promised. I wish I had read the reviews before signing up for this service. Townsquare employees assured us that we would be well taken care of.
