My company wanted local targeted ads. That's all. We have our own customer portal, website, everything already. We got upsold web development and it came with their garbage portal as a package. Didn't want it but whatever. I tell them I like my site as it is but if they can improve it there were two minor changes they could do. I tell them the changes: Make my listed services all plural, and add one slogan on the splash page. That's all. This is child's play text work for web, like 10 minutes of work. Two months go by $800 and they sent one website "update" where none of my changes were done but instead they used some garbage template and changed my site removing most pertinent information about the business and didn't do the two minor changes I asked for. I said "this is all wrong" so they sent another template that was even worse that reversed all the colors making my logo unreadable. Finally I said to forget the web work due to the inability to do anything right. I can't use anything and they aren't listening to my simple requests, but at least we have been doing local targeted ads, right? WRONG. THEY NEVER RAN THE ADS. Charged me $800 for this and refuse to give out a refund. I'm going to have to take legal action to get my money back as they are still claiming they provided services! What services exactly???? RUN FROM THIS COMPANY. DO NOT TRUST WHAT THEY SAY. Google got me but they are obviously PAYING for 5 star reviews. read more

Run from this company they lied to me took my domain. I paid them $300 a month never got any work from there site in 8 months. I started with a Vista Print webpage for $400 for a year and got a few jobs in the first two months. Townsquare contacted me and told me how my webpage was weak and they could do a lot better for me 8 months and $2400 later no work once you sign the contract your screwed. Initially I was promised a month free for each person I recommended. This did not occur. Then I was promised to be in the top five Google search within 90 days. This also did not occur. I built and designed my own website and they came in to make several (wrong) changes. I had to continually ask them to reverse several of the changes they made. They posted the wrong days, wrong hours, wrong descriptions of products. Then they tried to take my website domain name from me when I was the one who paid for it and set it up. Months later this is still an issue. I spent almost $1000 dollars and have nothing to show for it but a giant headache. read more

Terrible company ! probably one of the worst on the Internet ! They'll tell you what ever they have to to get your money ! once thats done so is their "service".. I paid them, they created a site with the WRONG website address ! I spent 45 minutes explaining how I wanted my site to look and how I wanted it worded. They made it the complete opposite of what I asked for , it was a joke ! the worst "work" I'v ever seen. they put a picture of a dump truck full of dirt on my site.. Nothing to do with my business ! of course they kept my money.. they have, NO integrity ! NO honor ! they do the least they can in order to STEAL your money ! I'm about to file a lawsuit. This company deserves negative stars. Back in March, we requested our account be postponed due to COVID hardship.... no response. Since March, we have contacted this company by phone and email multiple times to cancel our account... with no response. Radio silence. We finally got a reply this last week (almost 8 months since the first contact attempt) and Megan Fennie told us she would look into it and call us back within 24 hours. Guess what? No response. I am so tired of being taken advantage of and have now decided to take legal action. We lost our business, but this company continues to withdraw $267 from our account every month. I guess that's one way for them to make money. You have been warned. Do not use this company. read more

I don't understand how these guys are still in business after all of the scams they've done. I was a loyal customer for 3 years thinking they were on top of it. Hired them to handle my SEO and come to find out, a friend of mine who owns his own SEO company reviewed my SEO and advised me that nothing had been done as Townsquare stated. They had done the bare minimum and continued to charge me over $400 a month. FOR 3 YEARS! They constantly change account managers so every quarter it seems like I get a new person handling my account. After introducing myself with each person I would make it very clear of the direction Im needing done for my company. Those things were never executed as requested. I finally stopped paying and they reached out to me demanding payment or that I'll PERMANENTLY lose my website. Keep in mind, my website was created way before I hired them. They are now threatening to take something I own and paid them to adjust/add to. THATS STEALING. Then Liz from account resolution stated that if I leave then I'd lose all of my SEO and would have to completely start all over with a new company. WHICH I FOUND OUT WAS A LIE. When I finally decided to transfer my website to another company, Will in accounts resolution said to email him the info and he would have it done. THAT WAS ALSO A LIE. I had the new company email him and received nothing. So I had to go out of my way to copy my website just so I wouldn't have to deal with them again. Couple days later I get a call from Liz stating the website will be shut down by the end of the day. Nothing else about assisting me on how to transfer my website to a new company. These guys treated me like an experiment and I was paying them religiously every month. Biggest scam of my life. Do not trust that they have a new team and system in place... cuz that's what they'll say to save you from leaving. They have too many people doing too many things and no organization. If you need someone good who you can just call and they pick up right then and there and fix the problem right away (rather than wait a few days like Townsquare) call Carlos at (407) 949-4743 with Smile More Business Solutions. As a small business owner I understand how hard it is to successfully operate a business, particularly in these hard times. I started my business in one of the hardest economic climates we've experienced in years. With that said You would think that it would be a good opportunity to show good will to other entrepreneurs that you do business with. Not the case with Townsquare interactive. The staff on hand will say absolutely anything including lies to get your money. The service they provided was lousy. I spent close to $900/ month on their service and did not even get a single phone call from potential clients from the service. They promised a social media campaign, what they delivered was a joke. 1 post for the whole month on my Facebook. When I would call them to discuss things on the "campaign " I could never get anyone on the line. Emails went unanswered for days. When I canceled after the first month, they billed me for a second month and never even performed any task the second month and surely did nothing for the Facebook campaign that second month. Not even the half hearted attempt they did the first month All in all I was $900 in the hole with these bloodsuckers and didn't get a dime of profit. I didn't even get 1 client out of it. If you're considering this company, I highly suggest you find yourself instead a small local company in your area. Don't give these people your hard earned money. Oh, and by the way, after I canceled and they billed me anyway for a second month and didn't even do anything for me that second month, they sabotaged my website so it couldn't be searched online. This company has no empathy towards hard working American entrepreneurs and they are not interested in helping out the community. They are just old fashioned thinking blood suckers. Don't make the same mistake I did putting my trust in them. read more

We own a construction company and were told Townsquare Media could increase our online presence and help us with SEO and marketing. The exact opposite happened. Our calls went to almost zero as soon as we launched with them. They launched a second website for us, which took our Google standings from 1st line in the search results to the second page in just a few days. When working with their website team I asked them several times to correct the wrong number on our website before they changed it. They did not listen to our requests regarding adding the professional photos we sent them or our requests for pushing the services we wanted them to. The website they created looked to be done by a robot that knew nothing about us or our business. Also, because of what they had done with the new website, we were suspended from our Google business listing, and I had to go through an appeal process to gain control of it again. The company has taken no responsibility for the damage they caused, and even though we requested to have them cancel 22 days after launching with them, they are refusing to give us the refund we were promised. I wish I had read the reviews before signing up for this service. Townsquare employees assured us that we would be well taken care of. Instead, we paid money to send our company backward in its growth. Do NOT waste your money. read more

Townsquare's sales staff is good! Good enough to fool most, even ourselves obviously. TWO starts because, if you give them enough time (1year?), they may have completed a decent product! :) Hired Townsquare to do a rebuild of our website, and the results were ... horrendous. The first build that came back, after 1-2 weeks, was soooo laughable! It was worse than a middle-schooler learning to code! Template based and just slapped together. After several back and forth calls with techs, finally got a call from "David" who said he'd be our builder now. After several more months, most times with no updates to the site, because he couldn't reach us he said, the site was still very basic, generic, and done to a mid-level degree at best (as said by other FRIENDs (not trusting other competitors to give us an unbiased review of it) we know that is also in the industry) During this time, they couldn't access our domain holder account to upload the site (in the end, thank goodness!), so they created a new domain, competing with our existing main site/domain! They won't give you log in information to the build or menu's of course, only to log in and see general information. (it is NOT yours to have if you leave them) Finally spoke with David directly... part of his statements were: "I can't change the past, only go forward from here." (after 4-5 months) So we sent him some of our pictures to use... 8 days later we speak again, and the pictures weren't used or even noticed in his email!!! He said "oh, you sent them!?" Yes, as you asked, that same day! At the end of 6months (7?), we'd had enough. We called their general sales line, spoke with a lady and requested to cancel our account. Then, of course, we start getting calls from them, for payments due. WHAT!? They insist that we owe them for 2 months because they can't find any record of cancellation etc. OF COURSE they can't! lol Thought it was settled but, NOW, we've started getting calls and emails from their debt collector! WHAT!?!?!? OUR attorneys are already filled in with all information regarding these events, and they are happily awaiting for our "go ahead" to move. We'll also be looking at any new site they claim/build... to see if they've used OUR proprietary pictures we sent to them. You wanna play!? Batter up!!! J's Roofing read more

BYER BE WARE!!! Snakes!! I have been with them for over 2 years. They made changes to my website over a year ago and did not have google index the changes causing my listing to fall way behind. When I finally caught it they were slow to respond. No real skin off their back they just blamed Google for the issue. Lies all lies. I don't believe a word that they say. There have been so many other issues but not worth the rant. Trust me I have been through it with them. My listing is still not where it should be and we are loosing traffic to our site every day. They say my listing is doing great....um....no it is not. Poor customer service. They cost me thousands in lost business. It takes them a long time to respond. I have been trying to cancel for days and the keep calling me to try to get me to stay. I keep telling them that I no longer want to do business with them. I am sure they will reply to this review with some standard AI generated response. Please regardless of how they choose to respond to my post...look for another company. Don't flush your money down the toilet with them. They are no a good company to work with at all. read more

I started working with Townsquare a few years ago. When I orginally committed, I was told that my site would be mine to use if I ever wanted to host it myself. After months of poor seo performance, I was ready to take a break, but was then told I couldn't take my site. I was very very mislead. I put alot of my own time into the layout/configuration thinking it would be mine. I ending my relationship with the comapny and had my site remade. I did see potiental in Townsquare and wanted things to work. So recently, I came back on board about 6 months ago and explained why I left in the first place to avoid future issues. I was assured I wouldn't have issues and we would start building their services back into my budgets. Only this time no one even preformed anything. I requested my new site be merged with my old site, and nothing was done. I asked for updates, and that wasnt done either. It was a complete waste of time. I talked to my account manager, his manager, and someone else's account manager about these issues and still nothing. I requested to cancel multiple times and was still getting charged. I feel used. Townsquare says it runs it business model on client retention, but it is a complete pump and dump client strategy. read more

I recommended townsquare to my sons pool business. It was a trial of 3 months for his business. He agreed to pay for 3 months and he would get the money returned if he did not get any response. He paid his 3 months and never got 1 new client. He got in touch with them and asked to cancel as he did not receive one customer from the web site he asked for his money back guarantee and was first told no. I wish I would never sent him their info. I'm afraid they have scammed him out of the money. read more

I am a recent client who, was happy with the service but due to covid we have been forced to downsize our marketing etc. I have been requesting FOR MONTHS that townsquare transfer back OUR domain name into my account but I have gotten little to no response other than once my rep saying it would be done.. That was over a month ago.. I have sent MULTIPLE emails and requests, left messages on every number I can find. I am not getting any response and ALL I'm asking for is the domain that I PURCHASED and then transferred over so the site could be edited. I did not want to post any negative reviews or anything because I was happy with the service and my rep until we had to cancel the service and now I can't even get what is mine and shouldn't take anyone longer than a few minutes to correct. I regret doing business with Townsquare Interactive! My name is Markham T. Jackson, I am an attorney and own/operate my own small law firm in Middle Tennessee. I built my own website using Wix.com when I first opened my practice and, after a couple years, wanted to upgrade my online presence. I hired Townsquare because they promised to build me a good professional website that and because their sales representative, Alexander Nicholas, promised, on multiple occasions, that I would be able to keep the website that Townsquare built for me once/if I cancelled their services.  That is the primary reason I hired them in the first place, to build a website better than the one I made myself on Wix.com, that would be mine to keep if I did not want to continue paying their monthly fee for SEO. When I informed my account manager, Nikki Skinner, that I wanted to cancel the monthly service, she informed me that I don't actually get to keep the website, I just "own the content." After I dropped them, I had to manually revert my website back to the previous iteration that I created myself. It is obvious to me now that Townsquare's sales pitch to me was a "bait and switch" tactic that was just meant to coerce me into signing up with them.  I believe that my small, private law firm is now worse off than before I hired Townsquare Interactive because I wasted capital on a website that I do not get to continue using.  I believe that if I conducted business in the same manner as Townsquare Interactive, I would be disbarred in a matter of months.   I could not be more disappointed in myself for allowing Townsquare Interactive to dupe me into doing business with them. read more

STAY AWAY from this company. Townsquare Interactive is the most deceptive and worst company I have ever dealt with, and I cancelled after less than 48-hours of signing up. After being sold on their service on 02/21/24 there was an initial intake document sent to me. This document listed ten steps I needed to complete to grant Townsquare access to my website domain. I own my website domain at GoDaddy. Step 6 of the document mentioned nothing about transferring ownership of my website domain name, however that is exactly what it was instructing me to do. When I questioned Townsquare employee Mason Ziegenfuss about it he eventually admitted in writing these words "Yes if you would have followed through the directions then it would have transferred the ownership of the domain to Townsquare." They tried to steal my website domain! I immediately, less than 48 hours after signing up requested a refund in two separate emails on 02/23 and a phone call with Shawn the same day. Shawn spent ten minutes selling me hard not to cancel then told me he would request refund and it would take 7-10 business days. On 03/07 nine days later I called back and spoke with Ashley she also tried to get me not to cancel even though I already cancelled 3 separate times. She then said it would take 7-10 business days to process the refund. NO Refund was ever even sent up by them when I first requested it. They said the same lies over and over again. They did absolutely no work. I cancelled less than 48 hours after signing up. I want my $400 back. Townsquare did absolutely nothing and now is refusing to refund my money. STAY AWAY from this company. Check out Yelp where they have a 1.6 rating. This is the most deceptive company I have ever dealt with in my life. read more

This is the BIGGEST SCAM OF A COMPANY EVER!!!! My current website that I created myself is already number one on google and I told them that, what do they do for the next three months? THEY TARGET THE SAME AREA!!!! Complete waste of money Number 3: They are unethical and FULL OF LIES!!! I contacted them on January 4th about cancelling my membership BEFORE I was charged. Have emails and other records to prove it by the way. I was told that it was cancelled, what happened next you may ask? On January 5th they charged me for ANOTHER MONTH!!! $300-400 dollars for another month of something I just told them to cancel!!! Now that I am trying to get a refund a supposed "Manager" is suppose to contact me to help me out. Don't worry I will record that conversation as well!! Which of course now a manager won't contact me, they are going to continue pushing it back until a month has expired to claim I got my months worth. Oh and also as of today (January 8th @ 1119 am my website is still up!!! So they are going to claim that I got my months worth!!) DO NOT USE THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY. I've been with Town square for about three-and-a-half years. My latest representative called me 60 days ago and told me due to covid-19 they're working with that customer has to offer a discount because they know it's difficult times. I've sent two emails asking about that and both emails were not replied to. And get ready for numbers from all over the country, it is very tough to keep up with all their different subs from all over the country and they're different phone numbers.. Instead of tweaking my professional website, they created some Mickey Mouse ridiculous website that it looked like somebody from kindergarten had made and insisted we rush it to market to start "indexing" etc They told me not to worry about how sorry the website was that I could make unlimited tweaks. I could not even get anyone on the phone for days at a time or to respond an email to attempt to make any tweaks. After 30 days of the worst customer service I have ever seen, their national account manager agreed to refund the fees I had paid. She told me it would take 10-14 days. When I checked my bank account this morning, they not only failed to refund my money, they charge me for another month fees after they have been terminated. I have been calling their home office since early this morning, and no one is even there to answer the phone.
