Desk in room. Spacious room overall.

Stayed here with family on a last minute unplanned trip to Smoky Mountains! The drive from Gaitlinburg into Townsend is so scenic and pretty, lots of winding roads along waters edge! Was worried since it's marked as a 2 star Inn via google reviews but was surprised to find that our rooms were overall good! Hardwood floors were clean. The staff was very friendly and even left little welcome bags for each of us in our rooms, there were 5 of us total. Easy parking as it is right in front of your room. One of the rooms had an odd smell, perhaps was a smoking room? Not sure. But it was overall a good stay. One downside is that bathroom is small and the air conditioner turns on and off all night. Last minute there was no where else left to stay so overall I think we did well finding this one place!

Sunning by the pool after a long day of fun. Book your stay here.

Very clean and a good location to Cade's Cove, the Tuckaleechee Caverns and the Appalachian Heritage Cultural Center. The staff are above-and-beyond welcoming and accommodating. Look for a wonderful treat bag upon checking in. The pool is clean and the price for what you get can't be beat. We'll be back! Thank you for a great stay.

Just an overnight trip to see Cades Cove, we live 4 1/2 hours away so we wanted to stay close by. Didn't expect a lot from this place.. don't do like me and judge a book by its cover! The gentleman at check in was pleasant and gave us a treat bag to have with our morning coffee. The room was extremely nice and clean! There were amenities you don't find in the big chain hotels! This was an awesome place, rocking chairs on the front porch were great! Highly recommend this place, we will definitely be back!

Lovely weekend getaway. In town for a truck show. First time staying in Townsend. Room was spacious and bed comfortable. Older motel but no complaints. There was a small fridge microwave and coffee pot in our king bed room. There is no restaurant on site but local places in town to choose from.

Stayed here for two nights. We arrived late the first night, we called and informed them it would be a late check in. They had the room open and our key in the room. There was goody bag in the room waiting for us. Rooms are clean and owners/management were awesome.

Parking's an issue if you're arriving when the bistro is open. We were always able to find a space, but sometimes not near the cabin. There are a couple signs for "cabin parking" but they were frequently moved, taken down, or ignored. Something the lodge should really fix. Roomy living space, couch, several more upholstered chairs, dining table. Wood burning fireplace (in season). Smartest TV I've seen in a hotel room. Most every streaming service you could think of, and when one wasn't there, it was a breeze to download and add. Full kitchen, basic plates, glasses, silverware. Paper towels provided. Microwave, oven, toaster, dishwasher, full fridge. A few ice trays. If you plan to do your own cooking, plan to take anything more you need. Roomy bathroom, walk in shower, great water pressure. Bed was wavy when moving, so a little partner disturbance, and wife complained it was not great on her back. Ok, but could use a refresh. Daily service as you need; leave a card with what you'd like checked each morning on the door. Overall an excellent place to stay in Townsend. Enough issues that for the price, we may look around a bit before returning.

This is our first visit…read moresince moving away 10 years ago and I wish that I I had just retained the memories and never come here again. I am writing this review on day one and I am stuck here for the next three days. Being surprised by me experience so far, I started reading these reviews and finally found one with some of the same issues with noise, etc. that we are experiencing, only to find the response by the property trying to dispute that guests experiences. I can't wait to see how they respond to mine. We arrived last night to our "cabin" and I thought there must be a mistake. It looked like I was looking into a duplex storefront of some sort and specifically, I was seeing the side of the business not meant for customers. Unfortunately, this was my "cabin". The original cabins seem to still be here, but these are new additions. Imagine you wanted to slap up some shacks as cheaply and quickly as possible to just cram people in, this is what you would end up with. Here are some amenities to look forward to: You will have a seating area that is basically your kitchen, a bathroom in between and then a bedroom in back where, if you love firm beds, prepare to be amazed. And don't forget, you will get to hear every footstep, syllable and cough of your neighbors on the other side of your paper thin wall! What an opportunity to make new friends! And just for good measure, you can awake to the sounds of housekeeping next door sounding like they are working on a demolition project as well as there constant driving up and down the road in front of your "cabin" on the gravel road. We went to dinner in their award winning restaurant last night. I wonder if the judges are the staff and owners in these competitions? I only mock this because when we dined here before, the food was art. The meals were unforgettable and memories you would discuss for years. I may discuss last nights meal for years, but not for the same reasons. To be fair, my wife had the mussels which she said were amazing. I settled on two shareables, the beef tips and the pork belly with Brussels. The beef tips were edible but if felt like someone was trying to take some beef trimmings and fancy them up to look like a real chef came up with something innovative. The pork belly was ghastly. I have had and made pork belly for years and this was embarrassing. It was 1 inch of un-rendered fat with a shaving of meat attached drowned in a spicy sauce in the hopes you wouldn't notice you were chewing on the same bite ten minutes later. Further, our server was one of those than cannot stop talking. For goodness sake, you may just as well pull up a chair and order something. I was worried this one might just follow us back to our room. This used to be owned by Blackberry Farm, but apparently was sold to some family who has destroyed what was once a true gem. This used to be one of the only places in this region that wasn't a tourist trap. I read the reviews of late here, and I can only think these are from people who never got to experience what this place once was and who would be just as happy at one of the tourist dives in Gatlinburg. I was taking a few days from work but I see no reason whatsoever to not just work remotely for the next three days to try and take my mind off of this nightmare. I gave it the second star only because the rain coming down on the roof last night was a pleasant sound that drowned out some

We were able to call the owners and they either answered immediately or called us back to answer all of our questions. The cutest room was Critter Cove which had an additional crib sized mattress that wasn't included in the website description. The Bear Den has a glider rocker. Firewood was available to use in the fire pits at the restaurant in front of the Inn. We just used it and paid for it the next day. One caveat: the restaurant is only open for a few hours during lunch, even though they advertise being open until 7 pm. Plan to eat elsewhere if you arrive outside of lunchtime! We stayed for 2 nights instead of the 3 nights that we had reserved, and the owners quickly credited my credit card for the unused night. It was an all around good experience.

I get maybe limited staff but every hotel that's open at least has someone. I messaged and was told that this would be a top priority first thing in the morning. Three days later as we are checking out, there is still no bedding. Some priority! The tub also held water so you're taking a shower in inches of water which I most certainly did not enjoy. If you have children or a baby you will not be able to stay here at all. I believe that's why there are no televisions in this establishment, since we could hear the microwave next door to us. This place should definitely be listed as much more of a private getaway for people who want silence and no children. Now the inside sleeping is a little rough. The bed inside the bathroom is ROCK hard, and the full bed in the main room isn't much better. Along with the communication with the host Wendy is a little rough. We tried texting before arrival and didn't get a response, and had a rough start at the beginning with our check in (which was no problem at all). But definitely felt as though she is catering for complaints and trying to keep a good review online. Was a nice place overall but need a more realistic advertising online.
