If you are looking for a low cost place to stay while staying in Townsend, Tennessee; this is the place. It's clean, the staff are very friendly, the rooms are newly renovated. It's an old property, that the owners are taking and breathing new life into. The more business they get, I hope they'll spend on continuance upgrading. Our room was very nice, with only a few things that would make it better. We needed an extra two curtain panels on the front window, the ones there did not quite fit all the way the bathroom is small but clean. This area could use some improve improvements, simply because the bathrooms are very small. The indoor pool building is OK, but it has a tired old look to it. They serve a continental breakfast at the main lodge building every morning. They also have a lounge upstairs that has a pool table and a television. They also have an outdoor pool with a waterfall, which is very inviting. The outside grounds are beautiful. There is plenty of parking throughout the property that spans over 10 acres. It is a very convenient location to other restaurants and shops in Townsend. This is a great area if you want a place that is slower than going to Gatlinburg or pigeon Forge, which is only about an hour away driving through the cove. I gave the lodge three stars, because of them need to continue updating and upgrading the rooms and the property. But five star is warranted because of the staff who are so friendly. It is a pet friendly property which is a plus we got a chance to meet Butch inside the main building a very sweet dog. I spoke to the front desk Clark as I was leaving and she said you will get a better rate booking directly with her than using a third-party booking site.

Indoor pool and hot tub. This is in building 4 and it is right there, when you open your room door!

We have stayed at the Tremont several times in the last few months as we love to visit Cade's Cove often. We stayed there 3 weeks ago and are going back for Valentine's Day. We have stayed in older rooms and updated rooms and to be honest, we did not have a problem with the older room. It was very clean and spacious. The bed was great. We had a very nice size sofa with a separate living room. This particular room is the first room on the right when you walk into the building that has the indoor pool. It is currently being renovated, and I can't wait to see it after it is finished. You cannot beat opening your hotel room door to an indoor pool and hot tub! Our children are adults but I imagine the building with the indoor pool is a hit with people with children. Three weeks ago, we stayed in one of the renovated rooms and it was great as well. The staff has always been very friendly and nice to us. As a matter of fact, they went out of their way three weeks ago to give us a refund on one of our nights when we had to leave early when it started snowing. They have some rooms that are pet friendly if you travel with your pets. They have a great free breakfast bar with many things to choose from and their orange juice actually tastes like orange juice! My husband and I love the Treemont and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place to stay while in Townsend.

Parking's an issue if you're arriving when the bistro is open. We were always able to find a space, but sometimes not near the cabin. There are a couple signs for "cabin parking" but they were frequently moved, taken down, or ignored. Something the lodge should really fix. Roomy living space, couch, several more upholstered chairs, dining table. Wood burning fireplace (in season). Smartest TV I've seen in a hotel room. Most every streaming service you could think of, and when one wasn't there, it was a breeze to download and add. Full kitchen, basic plates, glasses, silverware. Paper towels provided. Microwave, oven, toaster, dishwasher, full fridge. A few ice trays. If you plan to do your own cooking, plan to take anything more you need. Roomy bathroom, walk in shower, great water pressure. Bed was wavy when moving, so a little partner disturbance, and wife complained it was not great on her back. Ok, but could use a refresh. Daily service as you need; leave a card with what you'd like checked each morning on the door. Overall an excellent place to stay in Townsend. Enough issues that for the price, we may look around a bit before returning.

I am writing this review on day one and I am stuck here for the next three days. Being surprised by me experience so far, I started reading these reviews and finally found one with some of the same issues with noise, etc. that we are experiencing, only to find the response by the property trying to dispute that guests experiences. I can't wait to see how they respond to mine. We arrived last night to our "cabin" and I thought there must be a mistake. It looked like I was looking into a duplex storefront of some sort and specifically, I was seeing the side of the business not meant for customers. Unfortunately, this was my "cabin". The original cabins seem to still be here, but these are new additions. Imagine you wanted to slap up some shacks as cheaply and quickly as possible to just cram people in, this is what you would end up with. Here are some amenities to look forward to: You will have a seating area that is basically your kitchen, a bathroom in between and then a bedroom in back where, if you love firm beds, prepare to be amazed. And don't forget, you will get to hear every footstep, syllable and cough of your neighbors on the other side of your paper thin wall! What an opportunity to make new friends! And just for good measure, you can awake to the sounds of housekeeping next door sounding like they are working on a demolition project as well as there constant driving up and down the road in front of your "cabin" on the gravel road. We went to dinner in their award winning restaurant last night. I wonder if the judges are the staff and owners in these competitions? I only mock this because when we dined here before, the food was art. The meals were unforgettable and memories you would discuss for years. I may discuss last nights meal for years, but not for the same reasons. To be fair, my wife had the mussels which she said were amazing. I settled on two shareables, the beef tips and the pork belly with Brussels. The beef tips were edible but if felt like someone was trying to take some beef trimmings and fancy them up to look like a real chef came up with something innovative. The pork belly was ghastly. I have had and made pork belly for years and this was embarrassing. It was 1 inch of un-rendered fat with a shaving of meat attached drowned in a spicy sauce in the hopes you wouldn't notice you were chewing on the same bite ten minutes later. Further, our server was one of those than cannot stop talking. For goodness sake, you may just as well pull up a chair and order something. I was worried this one might just follow us back to our room. This used to be owned by Blackberry Farm, but apparently was sold to some family who has destroyed what was once a true gem. This used to be one of the only places in this region that wasn't a tourist trap. I read the reviews of late here, and I can only think these are from people who never got to experience what this place once was and who would be just as happy at one of the tourist dives in Gatlinburg. I was taking a few days from work but I see no reason whatsoever to not just work remotely for the next three days to try and take my mind off of this nightmare. I gave it the second star only because the rain coming down on the roof last night was a pleasant sound that drowned out some

There are many options with large rooms, numerous bathrooms, and lots of living space for entertainment. Each property has decks that allow for courageous viewing of the smoky mountains! The resort also has a pool which we were able to use. It was incredible to swim and see the mountains! We did not see any bears during our stay but we did wish we did! After exploring all the options, I decided on Townsend Gateway Inn because of their cottages. We stayed a couple nights and had a nice time. Staff were super friendly and check in was quick. We were given a couple goodie bags of candy and then made our way to our cabin. It's basically a small house, with a bedroom, bathroom, living room (with a futon), and small kitchen and dining area. It was perfect for our 4-person family. Air conditioning in both rooms, comfy beds, and black-out shades. Our only complaints were that the floors could have been cleaner and the kitchen should have been stocked with more/better utensils, dishware, and cookware. We enjoyed the amenities, like the pool and cornhole. The location was great, which only took 20 minutes to get to Cades Cove. It's also right on the main road in Townsend, which has some good restaurants. The price was a bit on the high end (more than $150/night), but I'm glad we stayed here as the cottage in particular fit our needs and was unique.

Firepit onsite and a nice one at that, with about a half dozen Adirondack chairs. No restaurant on the premises but many are within a 1 mile. Rocking chairs in front of each room at the motel. There are also about 6 or 7 cabins and don't think they have porches large enough to accommodate rockers. We stayed in one of the cabins our first trip, and I believe those have cooking stoves? Anyway, both the motel rooms and the cabins are quite nice, and this coming from a hotel snob (I can't help it, too much business travel and it upped my game for nice linens, new rooms, amenities, etc.). Having said that, Definitely Would Stay Here Again!
