We stayed in building 8 and I feel like this was more like a small apartment than a resort. The beds were small, 1 full size in the master bedroom and two twin sized in the 2nd bedroom though we were allowed to have 6 people in the resort. Anyone outside of a couple and 2 kids would need to sleep on the pull out sofa. There was no indoor pool as their website says. When we inquired in the office they said we would need to go to their sister resort. The playground was great for little kids, which is what I took with me but, I doubt it would be of any use to kids older than 8 or 9, it's just too small for them to really enjoy it. The property itself is picturesque. The outdoor pools are cozy. There was a 1 foot deep pool for the babies which was perfect. Beside that was a 5 foot deep pool with a water fall and also a hot tub. The pool was never very crowded which was even better for me personally. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and amenities and I liked having the bar for the kids to sit at.

I visited Tree Tops for the first time about a year ago and I fell in love with it instantly. It's a great location nestled in the trees and hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg. It's a great setting with the creek running right through the property. I really enjoy sitting outside on the porch and listening to the water rush by. If you're lucky, you might see a bear wander around. We stay in a two bedroom unit, which has a king sized bed in the master and two twins in the second bedroom. The master has an attached bathroom and there is a separate bathroom for the rest of the unit. They have a small kitchen that has a stove, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, dishes and cookware. The units have TV's and DVD players in case you need some indoors time. As for activities outside the unit, they have 3 pools, one of which is an indoor pool. They have several hottubs scattered around the property too. These are kept clean and well maintained. We've also used their putting green and basketball goal (gotta keep the kid entertained somehow!) You can also find an indoor racquetball court and a fitness center on property. They do have an activities center with various social activities planned for each day of the week. This is a great resort to come to for your activity packed Gatlinburg vacation, or just a place to come and unwind. That's why I bought into Tree Tops and I plan on coming here for years to come.

The bat we saw at the resort. We loved all the wildlife!

We enjoyed our stay at Tree Tops. We had a two bedroom unit in the older building, so we were across the street from the construction. The noise didn't bother us there. I only heard it a little when we opened our balcony door. Our building was older, so the furnishings and building obviously show their age. However, everything worked and was clean. I didn't see a single bug inside our set of rooms. There were some obvious areas that need a little TLC around the property, but nothing that really detracted from our stay. The rooms were large with everything we needed, and they had really comfortable beds. My kids really enjoyed the indoor pool, which had just reopened after the fire damage. I was kind of surprised at how small the pool was for such a large resort. It was pretty crowded. The location is great if you want to be away from the noise of the Parkway. We saw a flock of wild turkeys just outside our room, a bat clinging to the building, and a bear on the road a few hundred feet from the resort. It was amazing. The staff were generally helpful. There was one lady at the front who wasn't very nice, and I ended up just not asking the questions I had, but everyone else was really helpful and friendly.

Have been coming here since I was a kid and have never had a bad experience. All the commodities of being at home are in your apartment like room. It's clean, staff is friendly and they have activities to keep you busy and kids entertained. Rooms are pretty good, definitely above hotel grade. You can get as many towels as you need which is a plus for me! Lol. They're making upgrades as well so they make sure the place never looks dated. My gparents have owned their timeshare here for over 20 years and we always look forward to the trip. Close to downtown Gatlinburg and about 10 min drive to pigeon forge. If you want tickets for local things (Dixie stampede, dollywood, etc) get then from the resort and get them on your first day or they might sell out. Office has many dvd's to rent and always adding new releases. There are 3 outdoor pools and 1 indoor, all with a hot tub (nice!) and there is a special adult swim time from 10-midnight. You can bring your adult beverages to the pool anytime too...yay! 4 stars instead of 5: my bathroom shower is slow to drain and we've told then for the past 4 years with no fix; for the size of the resort 1 more pool would be better as they can get crowded with kiddos; other than that this place is perfect if you're looking for a great place to stay in the Smokies.

We were greeted by one of the managers when we arrived who made us feel welcome. While there is not daily housekeeping, we had more than enough towels (and coffee pods!) for our three night stay. There was a fire through this area back in 2016. There is no sign of the fire in the remaining lodge building. Off to the side, up a hill, are the foundations of former their lodge buildings and restaurant. The view to the south includes some burned trees in the distance, but I found that it didn't take away from the ambiance. Due to the fire, the does lodge have a more remote feeling due to the lack of telephone, cable, or internet. We didn't miss any of these, and we had reasonable cell phone reception. I look forward to seeing the lodge thrive again and wish the owners the best in their continued renewal.

It's unfortunate what happened with the fires back in 2016 but the business keeps on pushing through. They still have a decent amount of amenities even without the other spaces they had offered before the fires. The rooms are a decent size, especially for two people. They offer a full sized kitchen which was nice so we didn't have to eat out every night. The balcony is cute & have great views of mt leconte. The bed was comfy & everything was clean. They had plush robes in the closet which were super comfy & great to put on after a hot bath in the spa tub in the bathroom. They also maintain hiking trails right by the lodge & they had a nice set up by the creek, there was a bathroom down there & a fire pit and lots of chairs set up. The lodge is only a mile up the road from downtown & the national park entrance so it's in close proximity to alot of great things. The only issue we ran into was not enough parking but we made it work. Overall had a great experience here & would definitely stay here again.

That was 41 years ago but we spent time up here for our 40th anniversary this year - using them exclusively since we found them about 20 years ago. I think the ownership went thru change since we've been coming here but we exclusively and use them at least 3-4 times a year. Their special for last minute trips is incredible. After 20 years, 3-4 times a year (so we've stayed in most of them), each one has always been clean as a whistle. We have figured that we have stayed with them over 60 trips. At least. We've never stayed with anyone else the past 20 years! Our favorite place is at the top of the mountain at the water tower. However three of the four we always stayed at and liked the best, all but one was burned down in the Gatlinburg Fire of 2016. It burned down to their concrete footprint. They finally got one of them rebuilt and just opened back up so we are leaving Friday to go there. It's at the very top of the mountain and you can see for miles and miles. Yet it is only 5 min from the Parkway, behind Dollywood. You would think a cabin on the to of the mountain with its incredible view would be miles from the Parkway but it's only a short 5-8 minutes. I can never praise their staff enough. They are awesome people to work with. Some of our favorite restaurants we never miss are the Applewood for bfast, Guy Fieri's restaurant and arcade ( this is awesome and relatively new and great to go because there is a Crumbl and Ice Cream shop next door that are for that sweet tooth we always seem to get worse up there), Chop House, Cherokee Grill (Gburg), Ogles Farmers Kitchen ( I think this is the name. It right close to going in for Applewood. We've just recently found this and have been multiple times), The Pottery Barn Cafe is usually our first place we hit coming into town. There is also Paula Deens, Chop House, and Johnny Carino's. This is just for starters. Stay here and you won't regret it!!!

We recently stayed at this resort after booking through Expedia as part of a bundle with our car…read morerental, which was a great way to save money. Check-in was smooth and easy, and since we've stayed here before, we were able to politely decline the timeshare presentation without any issues. We reserved a two-bedroom villa, but upon arrival, we were given two connecting villas instead. While this wasn't necessarily a problem, it was a bit unexpected compared to what we originally booked. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the rooms left something to be desired. As our kids were playing, we noticed cereal on the floors and under the living room tables, which made us question how thoroughly the space had been cleaned. The bathrooms also could have been cleaner, but we made it work for our stay. We did experience an issue with one of the units having a faulty AC, but after reaching out, an engineer was sent up promptly and had it fixed within the hour, which we really appreciated. One standout positive was the communication with the front desk. It was excellent. Anytime we had a question or needed something, we could simply send a quick text and received prompt responses or service, which made a big difference. We also really enjoyed the resort amenities. The playground, mini golf, and arcade were all hits with our kids and added a lot of fun to our trip. Overall, despite the cleanliness issues, we had a good time and appreciated the convenience, amenities, and responsive staff. With a bit more attention to housekeeping, this could easily be a much stronger experience.

**Strongly reconsider before buying at Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa**…read more We understood going into this that purchasing a timeshare comes with risks. At the time of purchase, however, the benefits and promises presented made those risks feel reasonable. Unfortunately, our recent experiences have made it clear that those expectations are not being met. The condition of our room was unacceptable. We encountered dead bugs, hair in the sink, fingerprints covering the mirror, a broken fan, a broken closet door and overall filth . Even more concerning was the overwhelming smell of marijuana and cigarettes in what is advertised as a non-smoking facility. When we brought these issues forward, the response we received was not only unhelpful, but unprofessional. An employee named Brad Reed was dismissive, condescending, and openly sarcastic, at one point stating, "Well apparently we won't ever see you again." Rather than addressing the situation, we were told the resort was completely full and that the only option was to send housekeeping. In the same conversation, we were also told that purchasing an upgraded room would "ensure we wouldn't have any more problems." The implication was difficult to ignore. After declining to spend additional money, our concerns were effectively dismissed. However, when we escalated the situation to a front desk manager, we were immediately moved to another room without issue, directly contradicting what we were told about availability. This raises serious concerns about how guest issues are handled. It appears that responsiveness may depend less on the validity of the concern and more on a willingness to spend more money. This experience reflects poorly not only on the condition of the property, but on the integrity of the service model. Cleanliness, honesty, and basic professionalism should not be conditional. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this resort. Travelers should carefully consider other options in the area that prioritize transparency, accountability, and guest care.

A double fireplace and a beautiful Christmas tree greeted us when we arrived. The check in was easy but be warned there is a $15 dollar a day parking fee that was not included in our Expedia and wasn't disclosed. Plus a $50/ night incidental fee which adding this up is $325 that you much allocate during your stay. The room was dated and dark. Fridge did not get very cool. Microwave would not work properly. Room was clean but in the middle of the week we found a roach crawling around in the bathroom which was quite upsetting. My daughter has a rare brain disease and is immunocompromised and roaches cause serious health issues. Also roaches are nearly indestructible and can hitchhike. We could not afford to go to another hotel or I would've left. Management did not act surprised and I pushed for compensation which they said they took $200 off of our stay. They did offer to spray but my daughter cannot take fumigations with her condition. I notified Expedia and as of yesterday, nothing has been refunded. We also were overcharged for two meals which were already paid through Expedia prior to our stay. We haven't been refunded on this either. The breakfast is not free and in my humble opinion I feel it should be. Most hotels offer a free breakfast of some sort and they had this area guarded off like Fort Knox. The gentleman with the Mohawk cut was a little gruff and maybe needs some education on ADA and service dog allowances for the handicap. I saw a mother who was in a wheelchair, paraplegic with her servicedog being scolded by him when her dog was at the buffet area. As a mom of a handicapped child, I already know how difficult is to navigate disabilities out in a public area and I thought his mannerism towards her were uncalled for and "illegal." This woman was a mom who was trying to get access to food for her children and herself while being in a wheelchair with a service dog next to her. He seemed to care more about what the dog was doing and why the dog was in the buffet area. That dog is her lifeline. No excuses for him even questioning her or the dog. Please educate your staff Hilton Garden Inn on federal laws/bills. Now with that being addressed, I will say that Norma in the dining area was exceptional. She went above and beyond as well as the chef/ behind the buffet. They are amazing at their jobs and deserve recognition for it! The indoor pool was also not heated. Extremely cold and we didn't observe anyone in it during the week we stayed. This is unfortunate and families that enjoy swimming should be aware that it is basically unusable. The hot tub was nice but my child really wanted to go swimming. The hotel is within walking distance of the end of the strip and we did have great views from our window for the New Year's fireworks celebration. I just expected more from a Hilton hotel and this will not return
