The views from every window and the multiple covered decks were spectacular, and we spent a great deal of time in the porch swings, rocking chairs, and the hot tub on the back deck. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, there is a very large walk-in pantry and two refrigerators, and there was a huge grill on the deck. The home is brand new and beautifully decorated. We had tons of room to spread own, with huge bedrooms and bathrooms, and the bunk room was so much fun for the kids! They pretended they were at sleep away camp, which made them so happy after their summer camps were all cancelled due to COVID. We played games at the game table in the gorgeous loft, played foosball and pool on the lower level, and giant checkers on the deck. We also enjoyed the fire pit in the back yard, and there is a basketball hoop in the parking area. The home is quiet, secluded, and peaceful, but yet close to shopping, restaurants, and hiking trails when you want to venture out. We miss it already and hope to come back some day!

We could see everything from up there and we were visited by deer, wild turkey and what looked like eagles. From the outside the cabin and grounds were well maintained. Inside, the cabin was a lot older than the online pictures presented. It was very spacious, providing more than enough room for the 7 of us. The place was clean and equipped with surround sound, tvs, pool table, plenty of cookware and dishes, a working hot tub, several seating areas, working washer/dryer and dining spaces as well as a fantastic deck. Air and heating unit worked perfectly as well as the kitchen appliances, although the ice maker in fridge didn't work. I was disappointed about the mildew stained bath tub downstairs with the dripping faucet (disgusting to look at and could not use), the sliding door to the patio with a lock that did not lock securely, window treatments with multiple missing blinds, the lack of wifi service ( for making reservations for activities in the city), the incredibly flat overused pillows, and the incredibly dirty chaise lounge in the downstairs bedroom (it looked like it had urine stains on it!). How is that acceptable for a rental property? For the price they charge to rent the place, we didn't expect those things to be lacking and they're easy, inexpensive fixes. I get it - the view is worth a lot but we think the household basics should be up to the standards of even a baseline hotel if they are going to rent the place out. Would we rent here again is the question...I guess I would recommend it because it was a cool place to vacation with awesome views but the online description should've been more forthright regarding the age of the home and its shortcomings, especially for,the price. When you book at Motel 6 you know what to expect just as you do when you book at The Four Seasons. Yes, I would recommend it but you should mention these things to the rental company so that they can either fix them OR reduce the rent. I feel like we deserve a bit of a refun.

This was our first visit to the Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg area and our first time renting a cabin…read more We were referred to Secret Hideways Cabin and Chalet Rentals by a friend that had used them in the past. I found dealing with them to be extremely easy and straightforward. All of our communication was via email, which initially made me nervous, but they always responded immediately to any questions. We rented a cabin called "Black Paw" which was a two bedroom, two bathroom cabin in a gated community. The location of the cabin was a bit off the beaten path - between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg - which we didn't mind one bit -- it was nice to be away from all the activity in the main areas of town. It was very secluded - once we arrived at the guard's gate, it was still almost another 10 minutes before we reached the cabin itself -- all UP UP UP pretty narrow roads. Once we arrived the views were breathtaking! The cabin was very clean and tidy and equipped with a pool table and a hot tub - we enjoyed both! The beds were pretty hard - obviously a no frills mattress - but they suited us just fine. The kitchen was very well equipped with all of the items you would need - dishes, glasses, flatware, pots, pans, etc. The appliances (stove/refridgerator/microwave) were spotless. There was even a washing machine and dryer. The furnishings were extremly comfortable, if a bit dated. The cabin had a wrap around porch and came equipped with a gas grill, porch swing, picnic table and several adirondak chairs. The only feedback I would offer is this: the linens and the towels really, REALLY stunk! The towels smelled as if they had been left in the washer too long, got moldy, and then were placed in the dryer (this was washcloths, facecloths, bathtowels, kitchen towels). The bed linen "seemed" clean, but the shams and comforters did not. The instructions in the cabin asked that guests remove the sheets and place them and the towels in the bathtub upon checking out, but asked that the shams and comforters NOT be removed - which leads me to believe that they are not laundered. They certainly smelled "used" which is a very uncomfortable feeling. I would pass that information on to the cleaning crew - which seemed to do a good job otherwise. All in all, we had a fantastic time and we would definately go back!

We had to work on the AC due to the filter hadn't been changed in months, the hot tub leaked so we had to keep filling it, the refrigerator wasn't cooling so we had to reset it and the dryer heating element was out in the dryer. We made numerous complaints through Vacasa and booking. Com. At no time were we offered any solution other than wait and see when a tech could come out. When you're on a romantic getaway you shouldn't have to work on things. I would not recommend this particular unit and will not book again. For $1300 you would think things would be in pristine condition. I'm very disappointed.

Sleeping in the bedroom upstairs, we did hear some creatures crawling about our roof. Never knew what they were!! Basement was a little buggy -- "centipede-y" -- I would say. But it IS the outdoors and it IS a basement. No big complaints. Just minor little things.
